My KC36 plant

i would put them under cfl's to start them off....but i would have the like maybe 20in away....moving 2-3inch, per week....reason being they're still very small and too much intense light wouldnt be good. I had put my Lemon G seedling under my 400 and experienced some burn.....now its back under my 2-25w cool blue cfl's....also dont use light until they sprout. no sense on wasting power.
OK thanks.

Can I keep my KC36 plant under it though?

is there a sprout? if so just put it under light but i feel you will get better results in this stage using cfl's

The other plants just sprouted. And I'm talking about the plant in this thread. I'm also using CFL's on the side and on the seedlings that just sprouted. Can I keep 3 or 4 plants under a 250w HPS and 5 CFL's?

OH and right now I'm keeping everything on 18/6.
sound good?

ya sounds good.... just keep it kinda far away for the 1st week or 2 then closer from that....i dont have much experience veggin with an hps, but from what i see its really good... I would use that 5 cfl's first and let the plants get a good base before u go hps..imo... I'm using 24/0 since i have clones going with my veg....but ur stuff sounds good so far...good luck!!!!! (less is best w/nutes..) take it slow if unsure....:)

Sweet. You've been a big help.

I just watered today after 5 days without any water. The soil was completely dry.
Should I have already started using nutes?
I'll take pics tomorrow to update.

Hey smokedat, I'm just jumpin in onthis thread, but the plants lookin much better already. You will notice a huge differance with the HPS. My last grow was kc36, I vegged with only floro tubes(its all I had) then "aquired" my 1000w hps. I made an insanse improvment with my plants. Like sunnyd said, keep it alittle farther away the first few days, so they can get used to it, and you can figure out what will be just right for yours so they don't burn. I would deffinitly be using nutes on the older plants, and on the others once they are about 3 weeks old. Start slow, and build your way up to more, once you see how they like it. DON'T USE MIRACLEGROW! Do you have a local hydro shop, or garden center? If so try to find a well balanced organic nutrient. It will boost the size of your plants, and organics tend to provide a nicer flavor in the end. If you have 4x4x8, you have room for a, or some good size plants.

Heres a thread that offers a great method to increase yeild with less plants, in about your size area. https://www.rollitup.org/indoor-growing/90011-4x4-600w-scrog-3rd-wk.html This guy has his shit straight, my next grow will likly be this SCROG style, with AK47 plants, my goal is 1/4lb per plant, in about a 5x5 area, with my 1000w light. I think it should be easily attainable.

Thanks for the info! I do have a local hydro shop by me and many garden centers closer. I know that miracle grow isn't the best, it's not what I'm using. What do you suggest I get for soil when i transplant, and what nutes? I heard Fox Farm was really good, but it seems a little bit expensive here.

Any pics of your KC36?

Unfortunatly the only pics I have of it are on my old cell phone, and it doesn't turn on.:( It was a big hit with all my friends though!!! I used some stuff I can't remember the name of at the moment, lol. But I got it at a hydro shop the guy said it was great stuff, I only had it for the bloom, I used schultz african violet nutes for the veg. It worked ok I suppose, it didn't hurt thats for sure. I am going to spring for the fox farm this time, it seems like its one of the best. I have also seriously considered the line that Dutchmaster has out, they sound like they would also be really good nutes, but i'm not sure what they cost either. Can't wait to keep watchin them grow!!!

I use GH maxigro and maxibloom...7 bucks each for a pound of dry nutes.... been using it for 7 harvest's so far...still more than half full.

Ok some sad news, 2 of my Hashplant seedlings have fallen over and seems like they died. Still have one Hashplant and one KC36 alive. I'm gunna germ either 2 more Hashplant and 2 more KC36 or 1 of each.

So, from the pictures, I'm wondering if you could tell if it's female?

Thanks

Its to early to tell the sex of them, you either have to wait until the plants mature, or put them into bloom in order to tell the sex.

I'm wondering if the soil I'm using is alright. It's Schultz indoor potting soil.

BTW my plants have been really growing and looking pretty good, except for some yellow spots on the leaves. I'll post pics tonight or tomorrow.

Yup. Right now I'm using the HPS and 3 CFL's each 6500k.

So the soil I have has nutrients in it already. Should I just add liquid nutes or really water the soil well until runoff is clear?

Thanks
