I find SLH is a bitch to clone, especially compared to TD which clones soooooo easy. Out of all the strains I've cloned SLH humbles my system.
I have actually taken a couple more clones because others have shriveled on up and died... I am having a much harder time cloning these two, damnit.. glad you and I agree, at least Im not crazy.

Hope every body had a good holiday, and weekend off; I almost had to work Saturday but luckily found a couple ppl to cover me. This let me get on down to bizznizz this weekend, apart from all the visiting and family things.

1. Bought 2' of 6" ducting and had an extra flange from the 'dro store and rigged up my Hydrofarm and filter in the Flowering Cabinet to vent to the attic. This is huge. It wont recirculate the hot air back inside Narnia, helping out cooling for summer. It hadn't neccessarily helped the "stealth" portion of things like I had hoped though. When running about 1/2 speed it is dead silent, but when it is blasting it is still quite loud..

2. FINALLY got in my 4250k AR-90 in the veg cabinet and the SLH will be waking up to a new form of light

Temps are warming up around here, almost to 60*

Shit got warm, I had turned off my heater friday night and came out saturday with lights on and was VERY uncomfortable with the heat.

Time to use the AC, turned it on Fan- Low, and it had dropped temps back down to 70's within an hour or so. Now with the addition of the attic vent, I think I may be set for summer.

Now I can focus on stealth, though redo'ing the room with living things in there.... is going to be a bitch...

I will throw up some pics tomorrow

Here's a quick story. Just took 2 SLH clones. One was no problem, the other never really took and started getting all spindly. So I sprayed it with nutes, popped on a humidity dome and put it closer to the lights. 3 day later and she's rooted so don't give up on your SLH clones. They just take a while to root and I think it has something to do with their metabolism. They're just slow growers and need more time and humidity than the other strains I've cloned.Hope the family is well!

I have a couple different bubble cloners I have built over the years.. the smaller one I have made (currently used), seems like it cant hold humidity for shit AND it's airstones are garbage... Theyre perfect size, but it is hit and miss on quality from Walmart..

I need to break down and make a lid for my "ol reliable" cloner for 2" Neo's to clone with.. it is my first cloner I had ever built, and is easily the best one I have built so far, and I dont even like it that much! (leaks if the water indicator isnt just right)... no matter the flaws I see in it, the results seem to speak louder..

The family is doing well! Thank you for asking, little dude will be a month old this Friday- crazy... doesnt seem like its already been that long..

I am having to look at dropping my current SLH, I have some light leaks going on between the upper and lower area's of the Veg Cabinet......... :'(

I know, this should be last resort. I am working on "deflectors/reflectors" to mount on the crease of where the shelving lies in my cabinet. That make sense? The shelves lock in place on two spots on each side, and one on the back. These little "feet" press against the walls of the cabinet and make the center of the wall bow out.

Giving my a crescent shaped light leak on 3 sides... SO i bought some HVAC board and need to pick up some 45* hinges of sorts and cut it to size.

But, the TD is four weeks in tomorrow, though it looks like it is going to take a bit longer. Im tied up on space and time right now, and the TD clones are kickin' strong, and....no sex on the SLH :( but I guess that's what happens when you just tease those girls...

So if I can get some thriving SLH clones running from EACH seed, I may ditch the current ones so I can prepare to scrog my current TD clones (gonna need 10 gal soon)

This will just reorganize everything a bit... but I still need to determine what I am going to do about mothers. I have a few 3 and 5 gallon buckets from previous runs... maybe the 3's on the top shelf and just prune the fuck out of 'er

I am open to hear anybody's suggestions to all this. Still experimenting with the under cabinet idea, but with all the other shit I have to do (new drying box)... its just one more thing I have to stress about.

Stoked that the 4250k panel is in there now, started packing up the Pro Grow's for storage till I decide what to do.

I really enjoy the NW look, very easy on the eyes and shows you every detail of the leaves. Speaking of which.. got a pest problem, fucker's must be getting cold and trying to get cozy. Have a couple chunks out of my SLH! BITCH! Ill screen that intake this week sometime and see what I cant do for prevention and elimination.

Tangerine Dream ^^^^ (lots of yellow..)

4-1-13 !.jpg

^^^ Tangerine Dream, again. You can see the cupping from Saturday morning's heat- but all in all look pretty happy.

4-1-13 V.jpg4-1-13 VI.jpg

^^^ SLH down there, poor girls are just stretching for no reason...

4-1-13 VII.jpg4-1-13 VIII.jpg4-1-13 IX.jpg

^^^ Shot of the current TD clones and SLH attempt. Some good ol LST and topping has been happenings, you can see I have four "apical" shoots at the top, though right now my side shoots are dominant

;) yep.

I wanna scrog the piss out of these two.. but, I should be saving one for a mother...

AND, I have gotten my ph to settle, it has been sitting at 5.9-6.0 consistently day 3-4 days now, at about 2 liters a day for the SLH and about a gallon for the TD. BOTH are settled, sweet...

Been a bit busy lately, working 6 days a week again with a hefty to do list around the house.

I had said earlier I was wanting to make a new Drying Box for a nice perpetual cycle and hopefully, slow dry.

I am going to use my FIRST grow box, its a very simple wooden box... with a door and lock for some reason.. lol.

Like 30" in all directions, giving me roughly 15.6 cubic feet..

I have a BADASS Fantec 120mm fan I bought that I saw on a whim, and have been dying to try it out. 103cfm on a nice metal bearing. Stock Two prong cord. Fucking sturdy.

SPOILER!!!
Filter Complete.JPGFilter Total.JPG

This is all a combination of stock piling things for some time and finally coming up with the parts to assemble my idea. Well, I drew some major inspiration from the MILLION other Carbon Scrubber DIY's.. lol

I work at a facility that makes filters for Johne Deere and Catepillar, which has a VERY assorted variety of liner's (metal welded into a cylinder, media is pleated and funneled into..).. So I get to go CRAZY with DIY ideas running through my head every time I see a smaller part... I have collected a few of these tiny sets just in case I fancied a DIY. ;)

These all range from having 3/8" to 2.5" of media space (in our case, carbon) in the liners.

I had ripped apart a couple old PC Towers to turn into possible PC Grows, and salvaged a few parts. One part being the VERY important 100mm adapter thing I found... THIS is the KEY

Filter III.JPGFilter IV.JPGFilter V.JPG

Filter VI.JPGFilter VII.JPGFilter IX.JPG

Filter VIII.JPGFilter X.JPG(<-filled with carbon, weatherstripping for seal)

Filter XI.JPGFilter XII.JPG(<- double up the panty hose to seal the rips in the first layer)

AND then you place this onto the adapter I was talking about.

Now wether or not it will work, we'll find out. But even if it's a week's worth of Dry Time with some solid control... Im good with changing it a couple times...

4-3-13 I.JPG
and the clones are doing good, so far.

Things have been progressing very well, the Tangerine Dream is starting to put it's efforts towards bulk in it's 5th week of flower as of today and is starting to fatten up.

I am currently using my Pro Grow 180 back in this cab for now.. I am going to keep this as neutral as possible, I do not partake in pissing contests as I do not have a large bladder, or time. A driver had went out on one of Area 51 -90's, putting out half of the back bay of diodes... damnit...

First off, my father had told some time last year.. "If a good product is going to fault, it will do it right off the bat.."

I do not protest against A51

As I was moving my second panel to "center up" in the cabinet, I was shocked. At first I continued about attaching the ratchet... but lost control of my motor skills and couldn't latch it. I gave it a break, and like the white lab rat... tried again. Nope. Shot a second email and Eric had immediately replied with a very concerned and appreciated response, telling me to ship the light back.

After a few emails they had informed me that I will need to ship the "shocking" panel back to them, for rewiring or replacement.. and that they would be sending me a driver to replace in my first panel.

Sweet.

Well.. Some things were misunderstood and I went ahead, and opened up my panel that needs the driver replacement. Sending pictures to them asking them of the drivers that were installed (some blue ink..)

I "..voided my warranty with A51, and their manufacturer.."

Fucking A Christ...

Luckily, Jeff/Eric are decent human beings and went ahead and decided to accept my light, in the future.... I am not sure, honestly discouraged to ask at this point.

Remember, them accepting to replace/fix that light means they have to pay the shipping... for the parts... service (if they don't do it themselves, or at all)... and for the shipment back to me..

I do appreciate this. Do the math and thats a ballpark of 100 for a fix, let alone a replacement.

I had not received my coverage for the shipping via paypal yesterday.. but i was not going to mess around, and went ahead and shipped the light and sending them the tracking # for reference.

Few hours later, I received my email later with a tracking number (no information yet..) for my replacement driver.

All in all I am thankful, and neutral. I believe they did, relatively, exactly what they need to- to get things taken care of.

I will not state any negative aspects of this, and I will not state any heavenly remarks.

I just wanted people to know,

That when things get ugly, Area 51 will still get the job done.

ETA on the light is 2-3 weeks... Thinking the TD will be another 5 weeks... Ol lady wanted to see, and opened it up on light's out. lol.... damnit... I went ahead and let her look, of course.

My 4250k panel is doing a fantastic job feeding my smaller Tangerine dream...

Yup... it's true.

Starting to see roots on the SLH clones so I have thrashed the current set... they were getting root bound... way to big for those small containers.

I have installed my SCROG screen and already LST'ing, I need to take some clones once they are further along, and I need to set aside one of those for a MOTHER.

Made some new buckets for the mothers, spray paint for more neat look than the aluminum tape..

No pics, sorry. Lights are out. Im tired.

Maybe tomorrow, you all take care

That blows, but does show the advantages of multi panel setups. You didn't tell the misses anything, right ;).

Crazy, theres gotta be like only 2 contacts in that panel which carry enough load to shock you (the AC-inputs on driver), must be some pretty major defect. Would like to hear what happened, if they share.

Whats your thoughts on mothers Scotch? I never did them before but will soon have to (genetics starting to cost too much, and getting less stable, now i'm bored of growing nirvana and other similar seeds. :P)

Is the trick just big pot and regular pruning? I want to keep mothers as small as possible (i only need a few clones)

Or taking a fresh clone to be the new mom and killing/flowering out the old mother every now and then?

I dono boog.. Every time you take a cutting you are redirecting those auxins... makin all you side branches collide.

Eventually they're going to get out of the range of "controllable," and outgrow... I think that's where people throw em into flower and go with one of the next generation of clones as a Mother.

...at least that's my plan... and I have no problem getting gruesome with the ladies either, keep em nice and tight, short and stout. I think the "insurance," or assurance, is that you can use the current gen clones.. worth a try in any space.

Especially if it saves me some money.. I am a tight wad, but I live comfortably- as does my family. I also like to think I live comfortably because I am a tight wadd.

...and because Ill do shit myself...

My current project, not the prettiest thing ever.. but we're going for results, right?

image.jpgimage_1.jpgimage_2.jpgimage (2).jpgimage_1 (2).jpg

Well...and stealth, this thing will be using my EXTRA Grozone TV1 controller to auto adjust the 103cfm fan to the temps inside the box...

I REALLY wish they had one of these that ran off of Relative Humidity... would be too fucking ideal..

I did get an update on my tracking number on the replacement driver from A51, it is in my state and Im assuming it will be here for me tomrrow after work.

Snapped a few pictures of the guts, and glory, of the A51 2012 -90 panel though.... if anyone's interested ;P

Wasnt as hard as I thought to figure out what to do with the driver/relocate it, basically just waiting... they've made everything very simple and easy on the eyes inside that metal box of light, very neat and tidy.

Ive also decided to crack open one of my Pro Grow's, I would only get probably half of what I paid... and it gives me a chance to REALLY learn the in's and out's of what goes into creating one of these things...

Seriously. If people are interested let me know, Ill snap some shots of this things too. I am a more "hands on guy," so tearing this thing down and rebuilding it is exactly what needs to happen.

Hope every one is being safe!

Fuck yeah Scotch, snap photos of both and put them in a new thread. I'm a total panel-porn-perv so go for it :). Plus that's the way I learned how brain dead easy these panels can be to fabricate.

Well I got my driver in, the lady snagged it up out of the mail for me and let me know when it had arrived- I had put it in last night, and centered up the single "-90" panel over the flowering Tangerine Dream this morning

I have been taking some time working on my drying cabinet, and I am finally done with the "ventilation" portion of things.

When I fire up the fan it literally sounds like an inline fan, I am very excited about the outcome... I may even record a video just to show you guys...

Also been LST'ing the FUCK out of the tangerine dream under the scrog (I had mispoken in my last pic update, my bad)

The right had began uprooting and tipping over, so I put a ship up under it.
4-13-13 I.jpg4-13-13 II.jpg

This thing is 9" tall.....

And 12" wide lol. at tallest, and shortest point.

Ill be taking some clones off of these soon (for a mother) once I determine which SLH clones are going to be ran through.

I will be opening up a seperate thread to show the opened panels, keep an eye open.

Not a whole lot else to update, I am finally ahead on things and anything I do is just icing on top of everything else. Thinking about building a sound-dampening box specifically to encase my inline fan

Life is good.

was i tripping and just imagined that you posted pics of the panels' insides???
Trip you had not brother, bad fortune gave a faulty driver in one of my Flowering Panels, so I snapped some shots while the opportunity stood. All is well and back up and running though, just waiting on my other panel.

I also broke into one of my Pro Grow's, warranty HAS to be up by now, and a fan went out (well.. if you look close, a fan blade snapped off, somehow, and lodged itself)

A lot has been going on, keeping things busy.

But all is well!!

This fucking tangerine dream... I am actually super fucking stoked for this next batch going in to 12/12.

I couldnt resist... i just... i had to.. I gave em a little squeeze, soft little teet of a nug...

.....hairy teet of a nug... haha...

image_7.jpgimage_6.jpgimage_5.jpgimage_4.jpg

Anyways,

(Fran.. youve got some going dont you? Let me know if you find the same, this was my last seed)

It smells like straight fucking sour citrusy goodness... This plant has not had a hue of smell the whole time, unless you rub the stem- then its just that skunky smell..

but the fucking resin smells like some sour orange starburst! thats probably the best way to put it...

Very citrus.

Very surprised.

I went down to the local (hour and fifteen away) hydro shop, picked up some more neoprenes and another pair of shears, old lady wants to help lol. Also grabbed myself some Dyna Protekt. Put some in when I had gotten home, dilluted of course- heard that shit chunks up.

I can finally confirm rooted clones from both seeds of the Super Lemon Haze, two have been transplanted to hydroton from the "Ass of Skunk" pheno lol. The second pheno is farrrrrr behind and just showing roots, its got a ways...
image.jpgimage_1.jpg

Also took 4...or 6...clones from the currently vegging Tangerine Dream to house away as mother's, yes... I am finally going to buckle down and keep one back for a mother..

I also finished lightproofing my veg portion of Narnia, and screened the passive intake.

image_8.jpgimage_9.jpg

Lightproofing that veg chamber will let me start my 12/12 cycle under the 4250k spectrum (more blue), for the initial stretch before I toss them under the custom ratio

As you can see, the currently flowering tangerine dream looks like fucking hell... poor girl. she was the trial run of the "whole system" of Narnia, but the girl coming up behind her is going to be a much better grower for me.

That scrog screen is going to rock, if that right TD doesnt first...

image_11.jpgimage_12.jpgphoto.jpgimage_13.jpgimage_10.jpg

Obviously this guy loves to LST the fuck out of these girls.. and they are doing exactly what they need to reach that light

Keep it up ladies, all credit is due to you.

**Brother Dawg, this one goes out to you and our fellow scroggers**

Welp, kicked the next round of TD into flower on tuesday. They just exploded on the recent res change (w/ protekt), and I think I flipped them JUST in time to make this scrog full, but not overwhelming. We'll see

I also got my second 10:2:3 ratio panel from Area 51 back yesterday, thanks goes out the EH and Eric for the timely and professional manner you had handled things.

The currently flowering tangerine dream is dragging ass, it doesnt look like it's going to be ready by the 10-15th, maybe the 20-30th. IDK. not very many trich, they are just now starting to stand, noticeably, further off the sugar leaves.

Again, We'll see, but it better hurry the hell up or that next batch is going to be snappin necks and cashin checks..

image_1.jpgimage_2.jpgimage_3.jpg

^^^^^^^ 3 days into 12/12, 10 weeks and 3 days from rooting

^^^^^^^ Fed at 730-750ppm, ph always put at 5.9-6.0 area once a day- then I let it flux.

image.jpgimage_4.jpg

^^^^^^^ So happy to get that panel back....

^^^^^^^ Some tangerine dream clones on the left, along with some Indica dominant SLH clones (two left, but rooted!!)

^^^^^^^ and two transplanted "Ass of Skunk" SLH on the right- moving right along on about 400ppm

Since getting the Protekt I have been using equal parts of Up and Protekt to correct my PH, and I think this is a HELL of a lot better than just PH'ing

I can notice a difference in vigor since adding the silica.

Looks great brother Scotch, keep fighting those TD bitches. Only suggestion I have for you is to add another small circulation fan, you want LOTS of air movement with those big girls under such a tight area&scrogged.

be safe scotch and hope the little one is doing good:)
