Dude, California Lightworks looks fanfuckingtastic... actually just about bought the SS400w on their Testimonial Program, if you were to sell your hood, ballast, and accessories... you could buy one for a grand total of 629, and hardly feel it. They are fuckin sweet... it is definitely powerful enough to replace your HID in a 32x32... then add some PAR...fuck..

-230w Veg mode
-320w Flower mode
-345w Flower+UVB T8's

There are a few good journals on here, just type in Solarstorm, 400, 800, etc.

Dono about the flares, Ive seen em resell for almost a quarter of the price, only perk id see is the daisy chain.

The only reason I am not purchasing the SS400 is my anticipation for the 2013 A51 series, just have more pro's than con's...whereas the 'Storm is kindve even in both directions.

EDIT: PM me if you want a survey of questions, shit ton of info on the GFP (Feedback Program) I had asked the Tech at CLW and some more info on the 400.

EDIT II: Watch buying LED's at hydrostores... they're usually insanely marked up, contact the vendor personally and you can usually find a reasonable median. Seriously, I got screwed on my first LED (UFO style), from a 'drostore.

I'm buying on the interwebs as the price cannot be beat. My hydro store will price match, but why wait and go through them when I can just order it myself from my bed on an iPad, lol. Dro stores are good for some things, and the net for others. This is a net thang. Will check out CLW right now.

Hey all,

This is not an official update, but probably one of the most important and historic posts I will put on here.

As of today, I am now an official Medical Marijuana Patient in Massachusetts.

It is amazing that I can openly state this now...the feeling of freedom is great.

The perk of not fearing police interference is fantastic as well.

Now, onto a surprise!

To celebrate my MMJ patient status, I have updated my entire grow and amplified my space. I put in advanced new lighting, light movers, more tents, etc. This is now going to get crazy that I am legal!

I will be posting an official update as I get buried in 3 feet of snow during this Blizzard of the Century!

That's so fuckin awesome man. Such a great feeling to be 'legal' and feel the tiniest bit open about it. It's like the chains have come off. I'm really really stoked for you. And can't wait to see the new deal with all the upgrades. Stay warm and safe. I hope you like the snow. :)

^^^Definitely, I mean it's nice knowing the man wont kick down your door on a Sunday morning but it doesn't mean a punk won't come by to rob you on a Saturday night. It's weird when you're illegal you fear the man the most. If some idiot steals your shit and you find out who it is, it's practically a free pass to beat the shit out of them since there will probably be no complaints because of the circumstances. When you're legal you now fear everyone but at least this time the man is on your side, if you follow the legal limits. Either way I could never grow in any place that is , how shall we say, known.

Looking forward to the big update snafu. And a Hearty Congratulations on Becoming Legal! Happy Growing + Be Safe!

I like to think my doors are locked for intruders security, rather than mine... Lol.

I was wondering about where you live Snafu and if you can have a firearm and the grow legally. In my neck of the woods if the man comes for your grow all your gonna here after "down on the ground cocksucker!" is "where's the gun dumb motherfucker?", and God forbid if they find one or plant one. And do your local hospital a favor and dislocate their fingers instead, it really saves a lot of time and money. Fingers don't need CT scans, just pins if you do it right ;).

The topic has gotten off subject.

Let me steer this back on course and get it back to growing.

I plan on flipping the switch next week, as all clones have rooted and are growing nicely now.

Update to come.

Hello all,

As promised, here we go!

I have been quite busy recently. I have became a legal Medicinal Marijuana Patient. I decided to advance my space and my lighting in order to hopefully produce better medicine at a cheaper long-term cost while still continuing my experimentation with LED technology while I select a beautiful female. Here are some shots of everything all setup. This is an 8x4 tent.

DSCN0747.jpgDSCN0734.jpgDSCN0735.jpgDSCN0736.jpgDSCN0739.jpgDSCN0741.jpgDSCN0740.jpgDSCN0737.jpgDSCN0738.jpgDSCN0743.jpgDSCN0748.jpgDSCN0753.jpgDSCN0752.jpg

I have implemented an eight foot growing tent. Within the tent resides a Kessil S360 Spectral Spinner equipped with 6 Kessil H350 Magentas. Next to that space resides the BlackStar Chrome 270, BS240, BS 90x2, Kessil Deep Purple H350 and Kessil H350 Magenta. I have two fans running, and a dehumidifier ready to go for humidity if needed.

I am keeping my plant numbers to a minimum. All clones have now rooted. Flowering will begin next week.

So far, I have no determinations on selection yet. Here are the ladies!

Some have commented on slow growth. Of course it has been! I am not trying to pump out buds here. This is a selection process. I am looking for a very vigorous, beautiful mother. By way of this, I top, LST, SCRoG, pruning, transplanting, etc. during this process for experimentation of the phenoytpes presenting. I found out what they like/don't like, so when I begin rippin' their clones I have a lot of techniques dialed in for that specific pheno. It makes it easier down the road when I want to pump out buds.

So of course growth is slowed a little bit. However, as you can see, they are brilliant.

I am enjoying LED technology so far.

Great setup Snafu, what are the dimensions of that kessil light mover? What'd it cost you if I may ask? Have you given any thought to throwing on some purples or even blues with the magenta's?

I feel like that light mover just fixed kessil's one big issue (with me, at least) Thanks for the natural white pics! looking great!

It's small. Ill get the dimensions for you.

Spinner was less than $400. Not cheap.

I have two purples on the way, which will be added to the spinner and two magentas removed, and placed lower with goosenecks for fun.

There yah go, 400 was a big hit... but if you already have the kessil's, might as well snag the mover.

No, not really a big hit for me, money is relative. I work a lot so I do not concern myself with money in something I love to do.

The Spinner is a must with Kessil, it cleans up wires/plugs, streamlines heights, ensures a great temperature and more. The Spectral Spinner is solid and made with quality materials.

So much so, I am actively engaging in buying another one with 6 more Kessil 350s.

Hey snaf, ended up purchasing one of the $400 units from California Lightworks... went with a veg spectrum. Figured it'd be a good compliment to my 600w hps.

Hope you're having a good day. :peace:

Hey Bobo,

I am having a fantastic day on this Valentine's Day..just waiting for my wife to get home from work.

The Solar Flares are well-built, quality machines. All of California Lightworks are very nice. Some people complain they are overpriced, but I believe in paying for quality (I mean, look at my Kessil setup).

The veg is an interesting choice. I probably would have went with the full spectrum version, as it is beneficial for both. Why did you choose to go with the veg only, if I may ask? Either way, kick ass light and will produce well for you.

I'm so jelly. My original plan was to get 6 of dem sexy kessils and a spectral spinner. I can't wait to see how this turns out; your plants look very happy :bigjoint:
Hehe, it will be nice to see if these Kessils put out quality flowers, we will see.

On a side note, the auto Pakistan Ryder that I have is beginning to produce buds and are very laden with crystals.

I honestly didn't know it was an Auto, even the 'Ryder' part did not stick out to me. It was a freebie so I kind of just let it do its thing with little to no regard as to its genetic makeup, I was treating it just like my other from-seed regular genetics.

Unfortunately, because of the treatment as to the number of transplants, it is only about six inches high. I usually do not make miscalculations like this in any of my grows, however I guess a lesson played is a lesson learned.

I could honestly care less, but I hate missing a chance of not maximizing the potential of cannabis genetics when given the opportunity.

At the very least I am getting a sneak peak of a full run with the Kessils.

Sounds excellent. Hope you two had fun night ;)

Ya know, I went with a straight veg because I've been chatting with a few people online about color temp mixing, and I wanted to throw something in there that would pick up where my HPS leaves off. And when I say that I'm talking about the opposite end of the spectrum. I seriously considered the full spectrum. For a few days, actually. In the end I decided against it, and I'm kinda happy I did. I feel like I would have been running "redder" (is that even a word?) than I was shooting for if I just got the middle of the spectrum, so I just said "aw wtf" and went for it. Coincidentally I opened up the new High Times last night and read a big article on this where they talk about running HPS overhead as your main light, and then throwing in some MH bare bulbs hanging down in the canopy more. I guess I see some benefits to having the really blue spectrum in there... but honestly, I don't know shit, so this is going to be a bit of an experiment, too. Gonna throw the bad boy in there tomorrow and start my disco party :D
