i am pretty sure my lack of knowledge with high humidity killed my beans. I got most everyt thing to setup my ghetto hydro. I figure i will do the cabinet around the setup as well as my small space.how is it coming along over there
That sucks. How did they die? I dont use a dehu and i live in the most humid and coldest place on oahu, literally lol. Water timing and ppm level is extra crucial out here especially on hot days. What size pots you got?i am pretty sure my lack of knowledge with high humidity killed my beans. I got most everyt thing to setup my ghetto hydro. I figure i will do the cabinet around the setup as well as my small space.
The humidity is a biyatch over here that is for sure.
Ventilation and moisture HIGH concern. Pardon the pun.
Peace.
Ok, I've had perfect luck with just dropping beans in forgiving soil and the only thing i do for the next 15 days is water when dry. No need any of that dome crap, they will just damp off very quickly if used. Keep temps at 70-80f and humidity from 50-80 (try to keep it below 80%) if above 60% use a fan to swing air around. Im no guru btw, i have ALOTTTT to learnThe five beans cracked as normal in a cup of water. Then I put them in rapid rooters(first time use) under a dome. I noticed nothing was happening and things seemed too moist. I checked the first one..totally mush. Pissed me off.
Next go round, cup of water and straight to my coir mix in cups.
I have left the remaining ones in the RRs and took the dome off. Doubtful, but will see what happens. Otherwise Santa is bringing me some...discretely
Any ideas or suggestions of Guru of the 808?
I don't know if I would soak them in Cal-Mag but a LITTLE root starter should be good.My next batch gonna drop in water then go straight coir mix presoaked in calmag and rapid roots...unless i hear otherwise...anyone have arguments against.
Man I've had that bottle for years lol. I cringe when i read 1 tsp per 5 gallons lolI think it really makes the roots explode !
It's kind of an odd question from a grow shop. You dont want mold spores hanging out in your tent and you definetly dont want transpiration issues on a hot day. Those series of hurricanes set our humidity and temps to 85f 80-100rh for a whole month. Not sure if you remember that but no way no how my plants would have survived without a dehumidifier during that time.Alrighty gang,
I went to Green Hands and picked up one of the used gorilla tents, snagged a 2x4 Gorilla Lite....$100. Then headed over the Ohana Greenhouse got the rest of my nutes and miscellaneous goodies. I will be charging my chow mix for transfer.
The weird thing is when I picked up the tent, i asked about a fan. The guy asked me why I was gonna run a fan in the tent. Is it me, or was that an odd question from a grow shop?
More to follow...prepare for some ghetto hillbilly ingenuity. Thanks for the help guys..lets see what I can do.
Peace
