DIY with Quantum Boards

almost anything is an improvement over CFL...lol! And if you haven't noticed, CFLs are disappearing from stores now that LED competes in price

Strips would probably work better; you could place them wherever/however. But I think it could be done? Either way, it seems like it would be a huge improvement over CFLs. The space-savings alone would make it a worthy endeavor.

True, but I don't think PC growers expect much yield. For some it's their best stealth option, and for others it's a challenge to find out how much they can pull from a tiny space

I have indeed. Vanished from the shelves of most of the big chain stores in my area. I'll have to find something else to light my seedling/clone space before too long. I wonder what that could be? Hmm...

It still doesn't compete in light quality, at least at retail box stores.
You are stuck with yellow ass "Soft white" or glaring blue "Daylight" (which is 5000K?)
One has to look far and wide and usually order from a led specialty site to find something like "Natural White" or 4K

Plus all the low lumens per watt vs. L561c quantum diodes with 70% more lumens per watt !!

Tent two up and running! Also 4 Blue Dragon. The rough looking guest is a decripit old Ducksfoot clone thats ohh 8 months old lol. Only transplanted her a few days ago. She was straved, had a bad case of mites so I choppedher to a stump, and dunked her completely in a bucket fill with neem oil solution! She's bouncing back! DAMNED tough plants, and she has a history.

@robincnn @Stephenj37826 any idea when the 260w xl qb288 kits will be back in stock on your site or growerslights?? I had 4 in my cart on growerslights yesterday and by the time I tried to check out today, they had sold out... I'm really bummed... :-(

I was under the impression the 288s were released as an improvement over the 304s, is that not the case? what are the differences exactly? why would someone choose one over the other? why do you offer both versions? sorry for all the questions, still learning...

haha you sound like me.
my plant is to buy two of the 320watt kit that comes with 3 288 boards each.
so i will have 6 qbs all together to equal 640watts for my 4x4 tent.
is that over doing it? lol idk but I'm aiming to yield 2 lbs hopefully.

just patiently waiting for the 320 kits to come back in stock.

304 s5 bin were first. 304 is more diodes so potentially more effecient but runs at higher voltage I would get whatever is in stock I have like 25 304s on various heatsinks they all work great

nope, not overdoing it. you can raise the lights to the point that you have a nice even spread, and then dim them if necessary to get the light level right. I've always just "read my plants" lol but I'm going to order a lux meter to get the spread as even across the whole canopy as possible from now on... my plan is similar to yours. I'm going with 4 260w kits in a 4x8 at first, then I'll add 2 more later, so I'll end up with 6 boards per 4x4 too.. I have 3 similar lights I already built (2 qb288s each) that I'm going to put in a 4x4 as well..

I know right... the constantly out of stock thing is frustrating...
