What you guys think about the legitimacy of roll it up concerning your privacy about where you live? along with all the photos people post on here of there grows, can't this web site sell your ip or whatever to someone who will do something about it like the feds? that would then come knocking down your door. am i trippen? or can this happen.

I have been tracked by my ISP before, they sucks and dont have life or anything better to do than go and fuck with peoples life and privacy

if you dont want anyone to know what you do on the web get a proxy service or similar.

fuk i'm using Mozilla fire fox right now i dunno if thats a proxy server. i'm a little computer software illiterate. but yeah i would imagine ur ip is tracked to every website you visit. but i don't think riu would go through the trouble to get you in trouble. That's not how CALEA, FISA, and the other pertinent legislation usually works. However, if court ordered, they do indeed have to provide whatever information they have.

But, that's a lot less likely to get you into trouble than what's probably stored on your own computer (stuff that only a sledgehammer and a gigantic magnet will truly erase, yes, there are proggies) and the information that your own ISP has to provide, now without even knowing that they've provided it.

However, RIU selling our information would be for the purpose of advertising. If that were to happen it would be pretty obvious to a lot of us pretty quickly. And then...

No, that's got nothing to do with what you're asking. You're talking about which browser you use to access the world wide web. Cookies are more in line with the concept here. If cookies can be sent and stored on your machine, then simply consider yourself dinged.

I would imagine that they wouldnever do that unless they truly are people without lives... and unlimited suply of money to try and put a stop to their money supply... which dosn't make sense... I know a few people who work for the pentagon and other secret places... and even their surveilance people screw around all day listening to people cheating on their wives and just doing sumb shit but I guess its very possible most internet providers are ran more smoothly then our govt.

it still takes like 7-8 months before they can get a warrant to bust down your door newhow, the average grow takes like 2-3 months and like 3-4 if it's sativa, so by the time they would be able to get the warrant its already over. whether they know that or not is a mystery though, but i at least suspect it as there aren't a lot of people on here saying they've been busted

Anything can happen. Everyone needs to use their own judgment. I for one believe unless your on this forum posting pics of acres and selling yourself, well then probably 99% not. I do admit, that sometimes we are giving out free information that could be used against us.

alright then couldn't some fbi or dea or whatever be surfing the web searching for shit like we have here, they could easily be like this is a gold mind and ask the owners of RIU for our isp or whatever and find where we live!? i can imagine they could with my judgement. what is RIU gunna say when the feds ask them to give up the info "no?" haha probably not. even if they need a warrant they will probably get one. Most peopel who enjoy this hobby won't have just one grow. they grow and harvest, grow and harvest and it repeats it self. by the time they get their warrant, more than likely you having a greenthumb, will still have a grow in progress.
