Thanks for all the replies.my filter and Fan have only done 1 cycle before this with no problems, will most likely buy a bigger fan and filter and maybe try the ona gel.The quality of the neighbor is bad.. he knows what’s happening but since the smell has leaked into he’s garage things turned sour and has threatened to ring the police. I’m probably going to take all my equipment down and scrap this run and plan the next
Filters don’t last forever. If you want to extend the life of the filter then make sure you use a pre-filter, clean it often, and only use the filter when the plants are putting off an odor.

Hi all, basically my neighbor has pulled me to one side and said he can smell a strong smell of cannabis, he’s took me inside he’s garage and I must admit it does slightly smell which worried me. We both have a 20ft x 20ft garage out the back and basically they are semi attatched to each other. I use a 4x4 tent, 6 inch rvk fan and rhino filter to match. I have no windows in the garage and my air that gets cleaned by the filter is blowing back into the same room. Is that my problem? Is there any way to completely smell proof the room so this does not happen again?
Your 6” RVK is it the A1 or L1?

A1 450m3/h
L1 660m3/h

which 6” rhino filter do you use? 600mm or 900mm?

I use an A1 RVK with 900mm rhino pro.

zero smell even at the exhaust duct in my attic.

My 900mm rhino pro has been working since 2013/14 and I’ve had no issues and still get no issues because my fan doesn’t run 100% all the time (temp controlled)

the issue OP could be facing is the recirculating of the air.

this could also see RH beyond workable levels for the filter.

I’m not exactly sure I will have to check it out next time i go. But sometimes when I opened the door to go into the garage I was greeted by a slight smell of the flower

Yeah, keeping the pre-filter clean, and brushing off the outside of the canister from time to time, will also help with the longevity of the filter. Using a cool mist humidifier with hard tap water can also clog a filter up pretty quickly due to the minerals in the mist collecting into a layer on the filter.

Yeah I use tap water, which water would you recommend instead ?

Haha, you should have asked him what cannabis is.
Cut a hole in the wall facing away from his place and vent through that, maybe chech the size of your filter or get a stronger extraction fan

The fan will have information in a sticker on it as to what model it is.
The filter you may need to measure it’s length to confirm which size.
Rhino make a 6” x600mm and 6” x900mm.

Just realised my filter is a 4 inch not a 6? Does it matter that I have a 6 inch fan and 4 inch filter ?

yes it matters.

smaller filters mean the fans air passes over too quickly to be scrubbed clean.

your issue is your filter is too small.

rhino pro 6” and you’ll be golden.
Thanks I will do that, could I use ona gel also? Or another filter on the end of my exhaust ? I don’t want the bobbys knocking on my door obviously

Do what jondamon says before adding anything else, IMO. I have seen just a fan and fliter sitting in the room the tent is in. So, that extra fan is sucking air into the extra filter. Don't know if it's necessaty but it's something to search for. Like others say, you should exhaust the filtered air out of the garage if possible. Too bad you can't turn your neighbor into an ally. Give them a taste of your best bud and get them into growing!

ONA GEL is a strong scent. You’re neighbour would think you’re just covering it up and not dealing with it.

filter most Definately right now needs changing.

if You have the funds get a 4” fan and use the filter and fan in the garage area aswell.

Rhino schmino!

CarboAir and just forget about smells.

Just fitted a 5" bang in the middle of harvesting and zero smell at all.

They are pure quality, attached hanging hooks too are stupidly simple and extremely handy which none of the others have.

Take a look I'd suggest.
