So please, tell me why you put your trust into a company that openly lies to you about what product they are selling you? The only reason you name your product after someone else's, is because your product isn't up to par, and you want to use their name to swindle unsuspecting customers. If Meiju or Kingbrite were making a quality product, they would come up with their own name. This isn't theoretical physics, this is basic human nature. What makes you believe anything inside this product is what you are told it is? They got integrity after they ripped off the name, or......??

No, I have never bought a knock off board from Ali Baba. Why would I?

Im basing this off of China's reputation around the world for stealing Intellectual Property. It's not a secret. Also the fact that I've never seen a single Chinese knock off that was worth a shit. Knock offs aren't known for their quality performance. They look the part, but lack the substance and durability.

I ordered off Alibaba ONCE! I thought the deal on the AtmosRX vape pen was too good to be true. Well I was right. It looked pretty legit, but it wasn't. It was a good fake though, lol.

Alibaba sellers do exactly what ebay sellers do; stuff their item header full of keywords to try and make their item more visible in the search results. Mimicking the general look of a product isn't an intellectual property violation because HLG doesn't own a patent on LED "boards". If a company on Alibaba were selling lights that used HLG's logos then they'd be violating IP laws because HLG owns the Quantum Board trademark. Adding keywords to get more eyeballs on your listing is not an IP violation. I haven't seen any examples of trademark violations in Alibaba LED listings (and yes, China in general cares little for violating IP laws).

At the end of the day, ordering from Alibaba certainly carries more risk with the tradeoff of money saved, which seems to be a risk the OP is fine with taking.

Ya some suppliers knock off the diode as well. But they do a good job of it actually. Samsung makes diodes in China.
Yes, they are copy cats but lots of companies make strips, boards, round pcbs, stars and diodes it's not a novel idea. Most companies in China will take your requests. They are manufacturers. What the fuck do you want them to do? And HLG buys boards their shit in China too.

Also btw I don't think the plants give a flying fuck which way the red diode line is pointing.

It's a world renowned known fact that china's metallurgical standards are subpar to all other countries. Especially with what they ship out to other countries. They can build to exact standards. But when you start with poor quality material, you get a poorer quality product. Their conductors and wiring are known to have contaminates and oxygen in them causing corrosion and resistance. Which creates a heat point. That in turn makes more resistance and its a compounding loop effect that causes premature failure. That's not to sit here and say Chinese lights are absolute junk. They aren't. But when you have a problem, you have to jump through hoops. You should never buy overseas knockoffs without being prepared to take care of issues yourself. Me personally. I've got several rheostats around to make dimmers with. I keep them around the shop for nitrous RPM window switches. If I need drivers. I'll order MW or take a half hour drive and get one locally. Hell I'll even order and solder in new chips if I have to. (SMD isn't that hard folks) I expect quality like that from China.

A great example of Chinese metallurgical quality being subpar even when built to a company's "standards" is the bridge at FIU that collapsed due to the chinese rebar. Random pieces passed the shear test. But because of so many contaminates in it, it was brittle and simply dropping it causing harmonics and sudden shock would break it into pieces.

LOL. Chinas standards are only low where the western purchaser has dictated such a low price that they have to cut corners.
China makes some amazing high quality shit in all sectors of industries. The thing is it costs the same as some shit would cost here. It's your cheap ass that dictates how cheap and shit the stuff form China that comes is.

Companies that spend time and money and go to the factories and inspect the shit themselves have much better quality than some dude who orders a ton of shit from the cheapest supplier he can find and does no due diligence.

all the lights you claim are high quality either are entirely made andassembled in China or just mostly made in China. From the driver to the diode to the cable to the plugs and fittings.

Have fun soldering thousands of SMDs to stick it to chinas guts. Good on ya.

I've ordered and received massive steel machine components from China before (turbine components) and they were the same quality as the components we got from Europe (Poland, and others). Everything is built to specification. Do you realize China has the biggest hydro dam in the world it's an engineering marvel. I wonder if they used "low quality Chinese metal".

My Chinese blurples did this after 10mo. They would flicker on cold starts, then fail a couple days later.

Note the EXPLODED diodes. Kinda makes me think it's a fire hazard. The blue diodes turn melted black, starting with the very center diode, then the other blues follow.
