Anyone used Mylar outside?

What goin on I'm on my first medical grow and was wondering if anyone has expierence usin Mylar outside. I was wondering if it would maybe cause hot spots or maybe be too intense or something.. I know the sun would be moving constantly ... But just curious. And I'm not worried about police... Any feedback..?

Pretty much on the money...the only reason i could see this being helpful is if you're doing a light deprivation grow. Even then, it would still be way more expensive than your other options.

lol, I have seen it used to focus sunlight onto solar panels. also something to do with birds. lol. I think it might burn plants tho dude.

The only place using Mylar or a similar product would be logical is to cover the grow medium surrounding the main stalk. Other than possibly reflecting light back up into your plants from the ground I see no benefit.

i'm pretty sure that moisture deteriorates mylar quickly

all good input...the reason i was thinking about using it is because i have a fence that sits right next to the plants and i just thought it migh help get the back side of the plant...

Sure I use it all the time outside. I have plants against a fence in my back yard that are blocked from afternonn/evening sun. The fence behind, however, gets great unobstructed sunlight until 7pm. So I covered the whole fence with mylar and have noticed the back sides of the plants are a lot more happy nowadays Im a 100% legal MMJ grower though, and in an area where no one can really see it anyway...BUT I could see how someone wouldn't want to use it, as it really would draw attention.

Some Almond growers were putting underneath the plants on each side to reflect the sun to the lower and under sides of the leaves just before harvesting them so look into that maybe, I saw it on the news out of all things. Maybe fruit tree something like that by I am a big fan of mylar but be careful

yeah im 100% legal...so no problems there and the chopper has already done a couple really low fly by's...lol...and i think im gonna give it a shot atleast behind a couple plants..and im thinkin i might not do a really high reflective mylar... heres a pic for a better feel....the sun comes up on the right and crosses to the left..

I think the sun is strong enough the way it is. Isn't it equal to something crazy like 2000w mh per square meter or something like that.

The way I understand it is light is measured in lumnes. I read somewhere that the sun provides about 10,000 lumens per sq foot at sea level.

I was considering mylar for a wall in my greenhouse. Good info, thanks.
