OK so I have a 200 watt CFL in a brightwing hanging reflector is a dr100L grow tent that is roughly 3ftx3ftx6ft and I think that my light is frying my plants......

How many inches do I need to have it away from my seedlings. I tried 2-4 inches and it didnt seem hot on my hand and fried 4 seedlings. Moved it up to 6-8inches and fried two more seedlings.

i have read that a CFL taht large can put out as much heat as a HPS system is this true?? Should I have that light 12-14inches away??

Thanks for the help.........smoke tough

do you have good air circulation? if I ever burn my plants w/ cfls, it's usually easily fixed w/alil more air in that direction

Use fluros! They are best for seedlings and won't burn them! But you can switch to lower wattage lights until the seedlings get a lil bigger or put the lights higher. Seedlings are sensitive ....

Well heres my new set up but now my question now is whats the best watter to use im using the one that cost 25 cents a gallon and adding nutes is this any good???

Use regular tap water from the sink.... Leave it out sittin for 24-48hrs so the chlorine from the water evaporates... Dont cover the water with any lids and Nutes boost up the plant alot and helps! But be very careful because you can damage your plants or kill them if you over use them.. Or use to much nutes.. Just be aware of how much you use and read the directions on the nute bottles!

like 2 to 4 inches away from plants, if you get good air flow you shouldn't have any problems w/burning plants

Ill tell you one thing About the water and if you take my advice or not is up to you but I know for a fact its the truth. only use half or less of what the recommended dose on the back of the nutrient bottle
