All right guys, its SeriousSmoker and its time for my second grow. I've decided to keep a full journal this time from beginning to end. My first grow was successful yielding 19 ounces of AAA purple kush, but i had a lot of problems and learned a lot throughout the process! For some background here are some of my recent threads leading up to this grow, very informative stuff in some of them, and also my first grow pics etc.

SeriousSmoker, Dude i wish i had the space that you got,bro my apt is so small i cant even fit my clothes in it. later1/10 tycoon777

Heres all my grow info for my second grow.
My grow space is 4.5'x3'x10', and I am growing 58 clones of Purple Kush (Hindu Kush x Purple Afghani origins). I am using two separate 1000w bulbs, one Metal Halide for vegetative growth and a High Pressure Sodium for flowering. I will be veging for about 2.5 weeks and flower for 8. The plants are in half-gallon pots with excellent soil, good mix of perlite worm castings etc. Im using a combination of organic nutrients and non-organic. The organic nutrients are Botanicare Pureblend vegging/flowering formula, plus a Sweet (sugres), and the non-organic are the Flora series hydro nutrients. I have a powerful outtake fan and a small oscillating fan, and also a small ceramic heater for the night time. During flowering i'm going to add a UVB light for 5 hours a day. The temp gets no higher than 84 during the day and no lower than 70 at night, with a steady pH at 6.2 during veg and 5.9 during flower. The clones were planted yesterday so i'm giving clean water for first couple days then a 1/4 solution for the rest of the week. Looking forward to the show!!

ps. i recommend Jorge Cervantes Marijuana Horticultre, the Grower's Bible to everyone!!! its a must-read if your serious about growing!

So the 59 clones are now one week old, and have been on a 20/4 photoperiod under a 1000w metal halide, watered 4 times in one week, only one of waterings was with food, at a light 300 ppm. Humidity was a bit low (30's) but i've increased it a bit. Most of the plants look good but im really worried about 3-4 of them, they are showing some strange signs. Some of the leaf fringes are curling but ive been giving almost only pure water at a 6.2 pH, only once they have been fed so im not sure why the fringes are curling, and then some of the other leafs have some other serious deterioration, if you know what it is help me out! Could be light burn but i doubt it

check the photos
the first photo is of a healthy plant and the last 4 are affected. About 85% of the garden looks great though.

last pics look like a little to much water, i had the same prob not to long ago.. water only when the pots and light, but try to water before they wilt. but like i was told under watering is better than over watering. correct this before flowering to avoid small buds.... good luck dude, i wish you the best.... nowell

lol its a bitch watering them no doubt!! i just try and stick the nozzle in the corner of one pot at a time..

as for the over water, those are the plants after i left them with my roomates for the weekend.. i knew they wouldnt be looking great. they got a bit heat stressed and perhaps overwatered, but i dont think so. some of them were very dry. I think they were just a bit down kuz the lights were off for bout 6 hours. they're perking up a bit now! ill post more picks soon if they dont cheer up

subscribed. I want to see how tall those ladies get. I wonder if the roots just hadn't caught up with that beautiful bushy foilage after 1 week wasnt the problem? Do you foliar feed to get them that nice so fast in soil? Just wondering they look great after only week one and 2. Thanks

Yeah i do foliar feed, but not very much. The best stuff is groth plus organic foliar spray, you can notice the difference within hours!!!

Sorry i missed last weeks update
Vegged for 2.5 feeks, 4 weeks finished 10 days into flower!
Heres photos!

im going to introduce CO2 pucks back in after 14 days of flowering, and get the UV light working after 2.5- 3 weeks.
Also im gunna up the sugar big time to get some nice fat buds!!

So i got some time on my hands so i'm going to do a little update here.

1. I was inspecting the garden and i keep seeing one or two of these little black flies flying around. I did a little research and i think they are aphids. After taking a closer look at the bottom of the canopy i can see tiny black dots around the edges of some of the leaves, and this stickyish clear honeydew residue that the little faggets leave behind. Im not sure exactly how im going to deal with them but probably just gunna spray the plants down with einstein oil and hope the bugs bounce.

2. UVB Lights - i just went to the pet store to buy 2 UVB lights. They cost about 20 bucks each but i think they will be worth it. I think its still a bit too early to introduce the UVB lights (2 weeks flower) but i think within a week i will have them up and running for 5 hours a day during the middle of the light period. We'll see if they really do bump up the trichome production!

3. Nutrients - as i said before im using a combination of fertilizers both organic and chemical, just interested to see the result. Right now ppm is around 1500 but im gunna bump it up to 17-1800 within the next couple of weeks, and prob up to 1900-2000 by the end of it.

Photos : here u see the UVB bulbs and my nutrient combination

The girls are getting huge! The canopy is sitting at around 26 inches from the soil
I was away for a week and had a friend watch the garden and 3 tops got completely burnt off! so i had to chop them and move the light.

THE TOPS ARE COVERED IN THC at 4 weeks, its amazing and i thinks its because of the UV BULBS. there are trichomes literally completely across the top leaves.. its insane.

THRIPS are eating at my lower level crop and i need to take more serious measures to get rid of them
