agreed. i think mine were 1/8"
if that doesn't fix it, do like airwlaker said and reduce from 3/4 to 1/2
I really think you should do it. Just use a reducing coupling and make you bar smaller diameter with only 3 holes of 1/8-1/4".it's so simple to do and will fix your whole problem.besides the leak of course...

Its just kinda a been there tried it and it failed type thing for me. I understand using what you already have, just trying to talk you out of wasting more money on bigger mag pumps you dont need and shouldnt run.
I tried to make this setup work like this so hard and tried several different mag pumps.

Any way I did it I needed a 1200+ gph pump for 12 sites and it forced me to hook it up to the chiller. The pumps I had were actually worse inline and made the chiller run nearly constantly. It was actually better submerged.

You dont need any more surface agitation than you can see in my picture above.
Thats one of my current plants in a 17 gallon tote, should be ready for harvest any time now. Ive run it this way for several cycles and keep it at 70F and have had 0 issues since. I also dont do any site cleaning during the cycle. Its stayed that clean since Late january without me wiping anything out and I get almost no settling with the flow I have.
Awesome man, yeah I’m not going bigger on the pump, next pump will be a DC and another configuration. I’m not sure how it would do submerged. I haven’t paid much attention to the chiller, I check it here and there and it’s not always running so I’m somewhat satisfied. The water sits around 64-66 I also have the entire room the grow room is in set to about 72, keep a fan around the business end of the setup to move warm air out. If I can turn my chiller up to 68-70 that would be cool, our warm time of the year is coming so I’m trying to keep on top of all the heat so I know what to expect. This is my first run under 1k, I did maybe 8-10 grows under 600w mh before and soil. I’m anticipating needing a de humidifier yet this summer. I appreciate all the input as well guys.

looks like he has plenty to cut inside the tote. for like 5 bucks, i'd do both: smaller holes and smaller pipe

Also, those lids aren't light proof are they?
That's more important than anything else. Get some medium grit sandpaper and a can or two of rust-oleum flat black paint and primer. It says "bonds to plastic" at the bottom. Sand the top where paint will be and give it 2 coats with a day inbetween them.

I agree man, good thing I’m off work right now, I’m going back in tonight lol. I’m not changing the bars yet, that wouldn’t be hard to do at all and I could install my unions to rejoin the smaller bar. But it all might be a waste if it’s just a worn impeller. Maybe temp plug holes, fix leak and impeller then go from there?

not to insult your intelligence but the chiller is outside the grow room?

They are light proof including the tops, tubs are rated for 400lbs, I have never run open holes under the light either. I just did a water swap after 32 days. Looked ok but I’m new to hydro.

I think he should just cut the pipe right after the elbows and tees leading to the sprayers, short enough so the coupling butts right up to the elbows and tees. Have the whole sprayer extensions be 1/2" it will help with equal pressure.

once you get that thing dialed in, you are in for a bunch of weed per harvest. hope you by yourself aren't trimming all that! lol.
Haha that’s my goal man, I want anything that gets close to it to go beast mode. Nutes might be my next challenge as I changed brand and feed chart and my first hydro run. The old lady usually trims a branch and runs away haha, that’s one thing I won’t worry about yet!

How bout this.. 1/2” site manifolds, shorter t bar and 3 holes like mentioned. I have pipe to do like 4 6” manifold I would just need caps Ts and connectors and 3-4 grams of bud lol. Fix the leak, replace the impeller.

Oh i miseed the video links! few things make a bit more sense now lmao.
The aeration in your main res alone is likely enough for the whole system with how much water flow you have.
With your water volume you should be fine running an inline pump with the right pump. I just wanted to voice my concerns of going bigger and the possible heat issue. You may continue to have issues with it leaking.
Youve got a good looking setup, we're kinda at the picky parts now thatll make everything more efficient. Your electric bill will thank you in the long run if you keep this stuff in mind. Even if you only knock a few bucks off your monthly electric bill, that few bucks will really start to add up over a few grows.

Yep, I would do pretty much they same thing that you have but use 2 1/8" holes on each side of the bar instead of the big ones.
If you have any issues with the pressure not being equal, the 1/2" step down could help that.
I was also concerned about getting good aeration in the whole box at first too, but its not necessary with the flow of our larger pumps giving us great water circulation.
Youd be fine to cut whats in there and cap it so its just 2 of the current holes per box. Its likely what id try first to not have to change all of it.

Thanks man, yeah it sucks having to link videos, there’s a few snuck in up there. I might just be getting old. It’s been so long since I have been active on grow forums. My first scog was on overgrow in like 2001 haha, 150w hps. And shit man, why didn’t I think of that, cut and cap outside holes, I might even have enough caps to do that, will play with it tonight after everyone leaves me alone.

Edit... nope short on caps, test with bolts tonight.

Was thinking the same thing! Just shorten it down to 2! Most of us just have a single fall in each container, so even 2 is above and beyond!
This is why I include fragile to these setups..I showed him how to do it, but he's shown me just as much since then!

Awesome man, I appreciate your guys advice. I’m in a trade where it’s in people’s best interest to listen to those who have done and succeeded. If you ask questions then do your own thing and ignore someone’s advice. Well... then your dumb imo. We will never stop learning or helping, tweaking and improving. I can’t wait to post my first pic with the hps on, lmao.
