At like 2 weeks I trimmed mine when they started looking kind of bad, and one set just got worse and the dead leaf just spread to where I trimmed it. (Other sets I trimmed are fine and healthy now).

I don't think the plants minded at all.

Just make sure you don't cut over 40% of the leaf, I think thats what messed mine up.

You can just take the pod out, take the grow net apart and just separate them and get a new sponge for the second one.

As long as you are careful and dont break any of the roots and move them delicately you should be fine.

Thats also what i am worried about them being tangled. They are pretty close together. When I look at the 7 day old one the roots are not as thick as this 5 day old one. Theres tons of roots and I cant tell which ones roots are which atm B/c I haven't tried cutting the pod and looking. This is me just looking in the tank and looking at the new sprout. I have been trying not not even touch the plants. Do you think I shoudl cut the pod some and seeing if I can see just how many roots there are to this new sprout? If so do I need to use my fingers or tweezers? TY so much.

Everytime I have had a sprout I have had a root coming out the pod. If I break a root off this will cause trama to the plant and more than likely kill it right?

Tweezers are more precise, but as long as your hands are clean it shouldn't be a problem.

I'd at least take a look at it and if it looks like you aren't going to be able to transplant one, just leave them.

Broken roots don't necessarily kill the plant, it just stunts the growth if its a substantial root loss.

Ok thanks so much. I am going to look right now at it. My plants are pretty short. Shorter than I thought they would be but there healthy and green no discoloration on them. There short but theres alot of big leaves on them already so I guess thats good. If there shorter that means there not stretching to get more light? Does that sound right to you? I am glad there short and have alot of big leaves seeing as how the AG dont go to tall without having to set something up or buying a extender for it. Should I worry about them not being to tall and lanky? Thanks again. I will let you know how the roots look.

UPDATE:

ok guessing I will know something within 24 hours or so. The pod was to wet and I couldn't cut it good. I gently pulled it and I am guessing it sprouted within hours ago b/c The two tips of the leaves were still up under the dirt looking stuff a little. When I pulled it, it had one straight short root looking thing. Good news there I guess it had a little point to it but when I went to place it in the new pod it did break the very tip off of it. It was straight then so I tried to put the point that broke off right next to the straight part it was conected to. I pulled some of the dirt looking stuff up around the edge of the pod to cover the root thing and hold up the plant. I don't know if it will work or not but I hope it does. Hope it turns into a healthy female. Thanks so much for the help made me feel alot better.

quick question bout CFL wattage. is it better to get a cfl that uses 20 watts but is like 100watts, or 26 that is like 100watts? are they both just as useful? the packages say its 100 watts but only uses 20 or 26. great guide btw.

I use the 26watt ones but I've heard people say if you can find the 150w equivalents... those are better..

im not quite sure u understood the question, so ill reword it. there are bulbs that say they produce 100watts but only use 20 watts, and some that do the same but use 26.
MY QUESTION: IS THE 20 WATT BETTER SINCE IT ONLY USES 20 AND GIVES THE SAME AS THE 26, OR IS THE 26 BETTER B/C IT USES MORE, OR ARE THEY EQUALLY AS GOOD B/C THEY BOTH PRODUCE 100WATTS?

It's not about the wattage, its about the lumen output.

42w bulb = 2700 lumens
26w bulb = 1700 lumens
20w bulb = ??? lumens

You should aim for 5,000 lumens/sq foot for good measure, no matter how many plants.

1) so lower wattage is better because it uses less energy?
2)i was told to use 25 watt (6500k) for vegging and 46 (2700k) for flowering, why dont i want 6500k for flowering too?

I think its just the different spectrum, thats why the levels are so different

No way, wattage is such a minuscule factor. I would just get the highest wattage bulbs to get max lumens in my grow space.

The wattage for veg doesn't really matter. Its just nice to have a few 6500k in there, they like the blue light in veg. You CAN use them for flowering, but its the red spectrum of light that the plants want in flowering. You would be fine going with soft white (2700K) all the way through.

would you recomend me using both, my 2700 and 6500? is there sucj a thing as too much light? i may have over ten cfls if i do so

If you have over 10,000 lumens per sq foot thats probably too much light. Anything under that is fine.

If you have fixtures for them, go for it.
