Hey curly, thanks for checking out my thread... Yeah it appears these girls are sativa dominant. The four girls were between 10-12 inches when I switched the lights (I was pressed for space at the time) and I expected them to double in size, maybe more. Well, They have more than tripled! The biggest girl is already 42 inches and the others aren't far behind. Another foot and I'm gonna have some height issues again but with approximately 3-4 weeks left until the chop hopefully it wont be an issue. They really stretched the past 10 days or so but seem to have slowed down.

Almost forgot, Yesterday as I was doing maintenance in the tent I noticed some white mold on top of the soil in two containers. The mold was limited to just around some "wood stakes" I had embedded in the soil since early veg (They had labels on them for the plants). I removed them all from every pot and I hope that is the end of it.

Obviously I'll be keeping an eye on this but I expect no more mold, I hope. Is this more serious than I think?

(Tried to attach a picture but RIU seems to be fucked ATM)

i keep getting the same thing with the compost im using, has too many twigs in it and they cause like white cobwebs on top of the soil. i just brush them off when they come.

Yeah, That is kind of what I had going on.
When I pulled out the wooden stakes the mold clumped around the base of the wood where it met the soil came up in a nice heap with it and I haven't seen anything since.

tbh i think it is harmless but id look into it a bit more if your worried.
I'm not super worried, just aware, now.

If there were mold anywhere else but around those wooden stakes I'd be super concerned but it just looks like a combination of the stick rotting after 3 months in the soil. In retrospect I should know better but It just didnt cross my mind. It's been a few days and I have been keeping an eye on all the plants since then and so far nothing else, so that's good.

If it reappears without the stakes there you'll know because I'll be freaking out in a few days. lol.

Femmed Casey Jones? Nice! I've seen the beans available but never femmed, That's a nice find. I look forward to seeing ya grow them out. You going to be using the A300's for your future grows? If so that should be nuts, I love those LEDS.

Has anyone had any experience vegging with Blackstar LED's? I know the ones I have are for Flowering and the website says they can be used for vegging as well. How much of a stretch is that? Would I be better suited just using CFL's for veg and the LED's for flowering? Thanks for any info!

If someone could answer the question from my previous post that would be great.

In exchange I offer these bud shots. :eyesmoke:

Looking really nice, and I cannot wait until they bulk up. As for your question about the Blackstar's; I would say that you would be able to flower with the light. The plant from what I have read, will flower with most lights. I myself have a mix of 3500k's CFL's and 5600k's CFL's. It is a mix between ''daylight'' and ''sunny'' or ''warm''. They are all 100Watt equivalent, but only draw like half of that power. Sorry for ranting, but your veg/flower light I would say if you can use the light somehow with your grow, USE IT! My LED light took a dump and the whole side of the strip of lights is out. It just flickers every once and a while. Looks like I bought a dud.

Oh, I know I'll be able to flower with them, They're flowering lights. I was curious about vegging with them. I wouldn't guess that they would be very optimal to veg with but the website says "This light can be used from start to finish during a grow but they are especially useful for flowering." so I was curious if anyone has vegged with them or not.

I'll be running an auto perpetual soon where I add a new plant every week or so to replace the one I'm harvesting. I will have a Blackstar 240w on one side & another Blackstar 180w next to it. I'd like to have all 8 plants that are part of my perpetual in the same tent. I'm just not sure if I can veg them with those LED's or if I should veg with the 6500k CFL's. Instinct tells me to go with the CFL's until they start to flower.

Oh yeah, The Liberty Haze should start putting on some weight real soon. I can already tell they're starting to fill in. I can't wait to harvest them. They will officially be my first real harvest.

You can DEFinitely veg ur plants with those lights man! Just might be a little overkill, when you could do it with tube fluorescents ya know? Basically by them saying it's good for flowering it means you can veg em too. It seems like it just draws more wattage usually to keep a hot light on than a cooler, less intense light and that is all that veg needs. But since LED is the same frequencies of light at all times, you're fine.

Thanks guys I appreciate your replies.

I'll be using the one tent for my entire perpetual grow so at all times both LED's will be on for the "flowering" plants. There will only ever be 2 or 3 girls MAX in there that are technically "vegging" so if all works the way i think I shouldn't have to add any supplemental lights as the over splash of light from the LED's should suffice. I mean it's no problem to add one CFL rig with 4 bulbs (200w total) if I have to for the vegging plants but if I can get away with just the LED's that's what I'm gonna do.

Thanks again guys.

Half assed MS paint photo of my intentional setup for the perpetual auto grow. I may or may not add the CFL's as needed.

not bad for a half-assed job as you put it. Wish I could make a late nite mistake and order another pannel. how are you managing temps? BTW the blackstar flower models are powerhouses in veg. Those sativas look like they are gunna need about 75 days. Im subbed up to see how they turn out. Good job so far!
