Hey everyone, I apologize for "stepping out" and not saying a word. I went on holiday and when I came back the weather was just so nice and I was so busy with other things that I just haven't been on the computer much. I knew it had been a while but i didnt realize I hadn't been around in over 3 weeks...

I have no photo updates either, been totally slacking.

All the girls are still flowering. I must have stressed the shit out of the Liberty Haze during veg because they are in week 12 of flowering and probably should have been done 3 weeks ago. Trichs on one plant have only started to turn amber. I'd say maybe 2% amber. Think I'm going to start a flush and chop her in a few days. Letting the other 3 Liberty Haze flower until I see some darker trichs.

The second batch of girls (The last Liberty, Sweet Black Angel & GDP) are 7 weeks into flower and look amazing. The GDP is a trich monster! The whole fucking cola and every fan leaf close to it are totally covered. Pistils already turning brown...

Weird development: The four Liberty Haze have all started growing new white pistils after no growth for weeks. Old pistils are orange and shrinking into the calyxes, new growth is on top, white pistils? What gives? They can't be revegging can they? I checked, There are NO light leaks.

I'll slowly be easing myself back into the forums so forgive me if it is still a little bit before I start checking out everyone journals etc, I've got pages on pages of subscribed threads to read! lol

Photo's to come soon! Hopefully tomorrow!
Peace!

If the Liberty Haze is a sativa dom you may need to go to something like a 11/13 schedule. The shorter day will signal to the plant that it is time to finish. Or at least that is what I've been told about how to finish some sativa/sativa-doms after having a lot of trouble with my very sativa heavy Tangerine Dream. Good Luck and Glad You're Back!

With my setup I normally water my girls every 4-7 days depending on temps. With that being said I was only away from the girls for 6 days so I gave them a good watering the day I left and that was that. By the time I got back they were ready to be watered but they weren't overly dry. I lifted a few pots and they felt right about where I'd normally water them. I was going to construct some sort of wick or pump system but didnt think i needed it... I was right. yay me!

The Liberty Haze is a hybrid (ChemDawg91 x G13 Haze) so there is definitely sativa in the mix and judging by the indica in my grow I'd have to say this batch is sativa dom. I know Barney's Farm sativas tend to take 10-13 weeks to flower (I'm looking at you amnesia haze) so the longer grow times make sense to me. I've never grown a sativa dominant pheno and I can't find any other Liberty Haze journals other than a few incomplete ones to compare to so I don't know really what to do.

So what your saying is that since it is sativa dom (apparently) that it needs a longer flowering period and perhaps a light adjustment just to let them know "their finished"? I dont doubt you, I just want to make sure I'm understanding correctly. If this is the case I'll change to 11/13 today.

I just thought it was weird that all growth stopped, the pistils started darkening, the calyx's swelling and then boom new growth. As soon as the lights come on I'll snap some pictures...

Thanks for all and any advice, I appreciate it from everyone!

Lights came on so I snapped a few pictures fast. These are shots of the most mature Liberty Haze. I circled where the new growth is.

Funny, In the pictures it doesn't look that abnormal but in person it doesn't look right. Maybe I'm over reacting?

Finished or not that Liberty Haze looks yummy! And good luck with the 11/13 schedule. Brick Top and others have said equatorial sativas do better with an 11/13 or 10/14 flowering schedule and yours almost surely do contain some of those genes with Barney's crazy-ass genetics :). So here's to a strong finish! :joint:

Thanks, FranJan! I'm looking forward to finishing this grow, Hopefully this will finish them off nice. The hardest part about this first grow, other than the waiting (kudos for me for being patient!) is all the stuff I have learned over these past 4 months that I want to correct. I cant wait to start a new grow and practice all the new things I have learned. So....Close....!

Took all the girls out today and gave them a good watering. I also snapped two quick pics of the Sweet Black Angel that I missed yesterday for anyone interested.

Sweet Black Angel - 49 days flowering: This one looks real "fluffy". Think we have our first air buds. Meh!

PS - One of my less than stable LH's with an eighteen inch cola "leaned" sideways while I moved it and bashed me in the side of the head. Stem got bent. Yikes. Didn't think I'd have a cola this massive. I'm gonna need tomato cages or something next time around. Anyway, My fingers are all sticky and so is the side of my face, So shit, these fuckers are resin-ed up nicely!

I'm more of an indica man myself but this is how it played out. I purchased a 5pack of the Liberty Haze and got the other seeds as freebies, except the GDP, that was from bagseed. I would have rather-ed more indica dom plants for my first grow but that isn't how it worked out. It should all be for the best though as I can only imagine the next grow will be easier on me.

It's been years since I had tomato cages. My mother used to use them all the time when I was a child. I'm definitely going to have to pick some up.

PS - Been reading some threads recently regarding how many plants can be grown under a certain wattage's of leds and I'm starting to worry. I had supplemental cfls at the start of the grow but since I've had the BS180 & BS240. I was running 8 plants and now I'm down to the 7. This seems like way too many plants for that amount of leds. I'm starting to fret over whether or not to get another led for the next grow.

Anyone have thoughts on how many true watts are needed to comfortably grow 8 plants?
Maybe I should wait to see what I yield to see where I stand?

ya man best to do a run and go from there , also its based more on how much space ya have to cover not how many plants .... could have 8 little sog plants in a 2x2 space right. the basic measurement i have heard for how much light you want is about 35-50w of led per square foot this is dependent too on how good of leds you are using but that should give ya a general idea :D cheers buddy hope this helps.

Yeah, I don't know why after 4 months I'm suddenly starting to stress. I need to step back, smoke a bowl and wait until after harvest to make any decisions.

Question, I thought I've always read 75-100w per plant? Is it less watts per plant when using led? I know these numbers are a generalization, I'm just curious. Thanks.

Quick Update: Of the four Liberty Haze one of them is ahead of the rest. I started flushing her about a week ago and I have decided to chop her today or tomorrow, So some harvest photos will be coming soon. Another girl is about a week behind that one and I'll chop her in about a week or so. That will leave the remaining 3 Liberty Haze, GDP & SBA.

PS: It's only been like 4 days since I switched from 12/12 to 11/13 so it might just be coincidence but it sure seems like all the girls have ramped it up ever since!
