Lol. a lot of growers try this stuff out. I have heard the theory of budding with 13 light 11 dark, as with most strain flowering will still induce no problem. The unproven question is, which yields more / has better quality?

In bubbleponicsdo the roots absorb the bubbles or do the bubbles splash the roots I've heard both but neither from a good source. Also, how often do I need to change the nutrients in an ebb and flow system? I'm using flora nutes, I have six small plants and there is about 20 gallons of water.

Hows it goin man, thanks for droppin bye. In bubbleponics it's both, at first when the roots are barely touching the water, the level needs to be kept higher so the bubbles splash up and feed the roots. As the plant grows though the roots will dip down and be both fed by the splashinhg & bubbles. Often growers will lower the water level as the roots get longer and bigger, giving more space for air.
The nutes/resevoir-for best results- should be drained and replenished every week at most. Though I have heard people going 2,3 or 4 weeks without changing. Just topping off and testing. The longer ya go the better chance of root rot.

Thanks for being so quick and answering my question exactly how I wanted it answered. I'd be stumped with dead plants without you. THANK YOU

I have a 3 1/2 foot plant grown with natural light and a 4-4-8 npk solution in my conservatory, I have been putting it into dark @ 7pm then bk in the conservatory @ 7am 4 the past week, it has now started flowering and looks quite healthy, so my questions are......
1) will it flower ok with just natural light?
2) how long does it need to be on a 12/12?
3) how much bigger will it grow during flowering?
4) would 13hrs light and 11hrs dark affect it at this stage?
5) I have noticed some white specks appearing on the lower leaves but cant find any info on it being a defficiency the pics I have seen just dont match up, what could this be?
6)how long eill the flowering stage take to complete?

Thanks in advance!!!

hi everyone...
im a first timer using an indoor 'hobby' garden
~i have for seedling a converted cupboard ...
*reflective walls,
*x" 2ft blue/white fluresants (growlux) adjustable height,
*a heated prop,
*using only soil, perlite, vermiculite, clay balls & water at first, ph between 6.0 + 6.5
*temp @ between 23 - 30deg (absolute min/max-night/day)
*4 pc fans for circulation(x2) + ventilation (x2, 1 in 1 out)

~i have for veging a purpose built cupboard...
*relective walls (80-85% not the best , but budget allowing)
*X2 125w blue spec cfls + reflectors & a 30w energy saving standard
bulb between cfls for a lttle red/orange spec,
*standard extractor fan as out-take,which in turn sucks room temp' air
in from vents cut into rear + side wall,
*x2 pc 'quiet' fans inside 4 circulation, with a 3rd on one of the air
intakes assisting the extractor fan,
*repot into 8 inch pots, adding more perlite+clay balls but less vermiculite,
*start adding 1.5ml of (biobizz) bio grow to 5 liters of water increasing
gradually to 6ml-5 liters max,
*thermometer, temp kept steady at between 22 + 27 deg
~ ive found on hot days a couple of bottles of ice set at the bottom of room lower overall temp by roughly 3-5 deg if its to hot for fans to cope with, (however i never let it get to hot or cold as ive read this can contribute, along with ph levels/water hardness to producing majority males-not good)
~for flowering, after repotting into 10 inch pots im going to swap the 2 cfls to red spectrum bulbs, and change the standard energy saving bulb for a 4 ft cool blue fluresant as ive also read they like both specturms during flower, also ill change nutes gradually to biobizz biobloom, adding in some top max around a 3rd of the way thru the flower period, topping up soil as needed, also ive got some bat poo to compliment the already fertile pro mix soil when the pots need topping up from wash out watering times...
ive researched a lot online but ive found a lot of info to be incorrect  so i thought id ask around in forums to confirm my method is ok. ive only grown in greenhouses+outdoors with no additional nutes, ph treatment or any other intervention other than watering & soil top ups etc previously, much to the ridicule of friends-however that swiftly turned to praise after 3-4 months when they tasted the result.:weed::joint::shock::clap::eyesmoke:
i have a few 'handout' seeds from friends brought stashes at the mo, however im looking into buying some mazar? any ideas on a specific strain peoples???:?:
never even seen or heard of mazar till i read this forum so i no not what to look for, can anyone advise on a good sub strain of mazar, or something else equally highly regarded yet easyish to grow..? its all on the people....:?::???::bigjoint: you are going to determin what gets me stoned in 4 months or so.. (will pay up to £60 for seeds)
*PS - im in this for myself not my bank manager, i want some nice :leaf: for myself & close m8s & will not be selling any to anyone lol im greedy you see! therefor im not so worried about getting shit loads outa one plant as long as its the best it can be for taste + high..:weed:..sometimes less is more, thats how i like it..(long as less is no less than 100g per plant lol)
*also ive read about hydro-flood and drain systems, i already have an air pump+stones, a water pump, a 130 l tank, a 30l tank and a bit of pipe, what will i need to complete it, baring in mind i want to build it for freeeeee, im all spent out from setting up so far.. im not fussed about putting bits n bobs together as i have glue guns & tools etc- a diagram would be ideal along with info about the flood/drain valves, will i need to buy them or can i control it all just with timers? any and all info is welcome! even if its just theory as iv read many variations of this method are used for different situations, i need to find whats right for me-with your help.... thanks all- i dont ask a lot do i lol

ok, hiya welcome to RIU, here we go.
1. The sun is the most poent light source available (direct sunlight) so yes flowering under the sun is fine as long as its getting 12-12.
2.It all depends on the strain standard commercial weed(bagseeds) will commonly finish in 60 days but ya never know.
3.Once again when workin with a strain ya don't know or bagseed, there is no way to tell. Plants can double to triple there size in girth and height during flower.
4. 12-12 is the best cycle to flower your plants in my opinion as well as many other professional breeders.(Some growers play with many ideas concerning photoperiod that aren't proven)
5. White specs are usually the result of spider mite bites. Check for very very tiny black or tan specs that are actually bug. A magnifying glass will help greatly. If this is the case there are many solutions while in veg but are quickly limited once flowering begins. They can do tons of damage and reproduce ridiculously fast.
6. See #2

Hope I was able to help and if and when ya figure more out with the specs and get some pics ill be here.Later.

Sounds like ya got your shit straight. I am pretty stoned and that was pretty long lol, but if there was a specific ? in there feel free to sk it again hehe. Though I would love to see some pics of the setup. If y are using nutes for the first time just remember if ya are adding a solution to the medium to ph it after you add it to the water, and the runoff afterword to make sure its coming out correct.

I personally haven't done a aeroponics grow..yet, but will in the future. I have seen them done before and if done correctly is absolutely awesome.

Aeroponics is technically the best for growing and soil would be the easiest. There are tons of variations of all and ya have to kinda go looking around hydro shops (Online or in person) to find what would work for your situation.

Hello again. I posted a Q a couple of days ago. Looks like you might of missed it on accident. Could you please help me out bro, it will be greatly appreciated. You can check it out below. Thanks again

What's up Chaotic. Great thread you got going on here. This question has already been asked and answered but I'd like some reassurance if you don't mind. You said White Rhino, Great White Shark and Trainwreck as a good beginners strain with big yield. I have also come across other posts recommending Big Bud or AK47 and 48. What would be your stamp of approval for a newbie strain with big yield and good for insomnia?

Thanks

Sorry bro, def must have overlooked your ?. Well I love Trainwreck personally, but this would be my first time growing it personally/seeing it grow at all. But yes white rhino is a very good yielding plant that has a great narcotic effect. Good for pain and insomnia. Also is the shortest indica around. I have seen a 2ft plant yield almost a 1lb. But its all how ya grow it, no matter wht though as long as ya are a decent grower ya should get a good yield out of it. Great white shark and big bud are also very similar in growing structure but I dont know about potency first hand.I can let ya know about the Trainwreck in a few months though lol.
