Sorry bro, def must have overlooked your ?. Well I love Trainwreck personally, but this would be my first time growing it personally/seeing it grow at all. But yes white rhino is a very good yielding plant that has a great narcotic effect. Good for pain and insomnia. Also is the shortest indica around. I have seen a 2ft plant yield almost a 1lb. But its all how ya grow it, no matter wht though as long as ya are a decent grower ya should get a good yield out of it. Great white shark and big bud are also very similar in growing structure but I dont know about potency first hand.I can let ya know about the Trainwreck in a few months though lol.
Awesome bro. I appreciate the help. Since I'm still learning I think I'm gonna go with soil as my medium. So expect more newbie Q's from me lol.

Yo' Daddio . . . Would you happen to know if the digital ballasts require secure anchoring. The pic w/the instructions shows one attached to concrete, but I'm thinkin' that's the other type? FYI, HTG 600W HPS.

It's up to you, most ballasts come with the ability to be hung and/or anchored down to something, concrete, wood beam ect. Usually to keep it away from water.

Water. Really?

I figured they vibrated like mad and would make more noise and scoot around possibly if not anchored. Never thought about self-destruction by water-cide. Thanks.

Hey I got 10 auto flowering plants in a 6x6x6 room. Is a 1000 w Hps too much? im just notsure how to keep it cool. But it does have a good supply of air coming from outside through 2 ft of ducting hose. Also, what kind of damage will the 1000watter do to the hydro bill?

Anytime ya need some help, come on bye.:eyesmoke:
Got some more questions for you. I read your post on lighting but I’d like to know what would you recommend for roughly 4-6 plants. 400w or 600w HPS? It will be grown in a two door wooden storage cabinet the type they sell at home depot/lowes. It will be proper ventilated as well. Also should I stick with HPS throughout the whole growing process or veg under MH? You mentioned there was little difference growing wise but also stated that using an MH bulb to veg will help your HPS bulb last longer. I just need some clarification before I go out and make the purchase. Thanx

Ok, I have never grown auto-flowering plants, but am I correct in saying that they don't get that big. Generally staying under 10" right?? Besides that though, aside from heat issues you can place the 1000 watter wherever it needs to be to keep the room cool. 24-30" would probably be good to start, but get a thermometer and make sure temps stay under 85F preferably 78F. To keep a room cool you can get vented reflectors that bring the hot air off the bulb out of the room. Also you can have an fan bringing in cool air and another pulling out the hot air. Then if that all fails add an AC unit and problems solved for sure. I have an 800 watt HPS that is reflector vented and also have an intake to bring in cooler air and I keep it under 85 in the dead of summer no problem. There is always a way when ya use your head.

If you know you can deal with the heat (it's not alot more than the 400) then go for the 600. I personally like the duel spectrum lights. They have 400HPS/400MH in one ballast. You can use just 400, use all 800, get a conversion bulb to make it all MH or as I do all HPS for flower. During veg I put the MH in with the other HPS to get a full spectrum for vegging (400 of each). They are the most versatile and can be used in many diff situations. Plus they arent that much more expensive. My next purchase myself is going to be the duel spectrum 600HPS/400MH with a 400 watt HPS conversion to give me 1000 watts of HPS during flower. The one I have now will go in the SCROG room and replace the CFL"s. Anyways, hope I helped, later.

Hi growgurus!
Should i keep my fan running during dark period flowering? Or just turn it on when the hps starts in the morning?
Thanks

It isnt neccessary to keep them on at night but I leave one small fan blowing over tops of plants just to help strengthen stems & branches, not for heat issues or anything.

I checked out the link you posted to the dual spectrum systems MH/HPS Dual Spectrum Systems, Organic Hydroponic Nutrients, Indoor Grow Lights and Supplies - Hydroempire
and noticed they don't offer 600w. So go with the 1000w since it's only 100 extra bucks or go with 400w since it will create less heat issues? They also offer air cool fittings, 240v upgrade, glass lens and mh/hps bulb upgrades. Do I need to get any of these accessories? Thanks again bro

Well sorta, remember that the 1000 has 1 x 600 watt HPS and 1 x 400 watt MH. So if ya wantd to only use the 600 hps side for some reason ya could, or vise versa, use he 400MH by itself and turn the 600HPS for flower. Many diff combos can be made. I want it to use the 1000 duel for veg and put a hps conversion in the mh side to give me 1000 of hps for flower. so many options. As for the options, yes I would get the glass plate for this goes between the bulb and plants to keep heat in reflector. The air cooled fittings let ya then duct that trapped hot air out of your growroom with some cheap ducting from the depot and a 20$ duct booster fan from there too., I have pics if ya need a visual. The 240 volt cable is only if you are running 240 volts in your house (has diff plug)

So basically I could use 2 hps or 2 mh as long as they're conversion bulbs right. If you could hook me up with a visual that would be great. I kinda have an idea of what you mean.

I have a question, I am new to growing indoors. I dont want to spend alot of money on the equitment I need, but I have two lights I put in my closet that have two 75 watt bulbs on each. There is only one plant in my closet, it is only like 2 weeks old, and just a little over 2 inches tall, I have alot of trees in my backyard so it doesnt get much sun out there. Reason I dont want to spend alot of money on the gear, is because im quiting all this soon. Joining the Marine Core.
So the lights are only 7 inches away from the plant, I know im going to need to fix that because the plant now is only 2 inches and it will grow more. But how far away should the lights be away from the plant with out burning or hurting it? Also, will two 75 watt light bulbs work, or should I go higher? I have it on a timer for 12/12. from 6 am to 6 pm. Is that a good time for the plant to get light and then to not get light?
Please let me know asap. Thanks, if you need a picture just hit me up, I can take one

I don't seem to be getting enough bubbles in by dwc system and I noticed in my ebb and flow system that when the water comes up there is a lot of splashing. I was wandering if a water pump could work. It would be cheaper (although noisier) and bake a lot more splashing. I am using this DWC for my veg plants only if that makes a difference. The only problem I can see is water level which can be overcome with a bit of tubing. Your insight would be very helpful.

To the person above me, 12 12 lighting is for flowering and if you start to soon it could make a hermaphrodite, or so I've read.

First off ya seem like you need to read the growfaq for this site. it will answer many of your questions. Reading up on growing cannabis is fairly easy on the internet and will take care of all the basics. At bare minimm though you need to figure out what kind of lighting you are using, it's not just about watts also spectrum. CFL's are the cheapest and most efficient for a small budget. From there HPS/MH & LED lighting comes into play. If you want to have a successfull 1 plant grow (which is the best idea, concentrate all efforts on 1 female) you need to have at least 100 actual watts of CFL by halfway through flower. Plus knowing the strain, how much it stretches (cannabis will get from 2-3x its height in flower)and keeping space requiremants in mind are very important. If heat is an issue then fans and possible exhaust or intake is neccessary. Check out the growfaq, and decide what your goal is, and take it from there..

If you aren't having good luck with the bubbler systems, then yes you could always convert it to a drip system of some sorts with a reservoir, but that would mean that ya were just not going to go the rout of bubbleponics and are going to try a diff technique altogether. There are tons of diff applications out there.

hey man vertical light mover. i need one that can haul 4 1kw blubs up and down, and back up again like a normal mover would. just not side to side.

so i would start with a crank motor on a pulley system. but i need to know what the sesnor kinda thing is, that stops it from going down to make it go back up...any help would be great...
