My plants have really taken off after last weeks abuse and the roots are getting larger. I did another small defoliation yesterday. I know a lot of people say you shouldn't do that, but I've found that the plants respond really well to it and bounce back quickly. These plants want a lot less nutrients than the gorilla zkittlez did. I was pushing 900ppm in late veg and these ones aren't happy with anything higher than 750ppm.

Those tie downs were really handy. One of my plants kinda tipped in the netpot and those ties were useful for trying to make it somewhat symmetrical again.

I made a new scrog screen for this grow. I didn't like the large openings on my old screen and it was too stretchy and the plants could easily lift it. this one is using non-stretchy cotton line and the openings are 3". Dr.Amber Trichome's trippy scrog screen inspired me to add a little colour to my tent.

Yea it's a cheapo creality hobby printer so the tolerances aren't that great, ± .5mm. I bought it a couple years ago to make decorations for a bachelorette party. I'd like to get better with 3d modelling, I have fusion 360, but the interface is a little overwhelming for someone without an engineering background. I used tinkercad to make that model, it's super easy to use, but it's quite primitive and you're constrained by the limited shapes autodesk provides.

How do you get the tension on the strings with those clamps? Just can’t picture how they’re working haha!

I’ve got some orange string for my next net, might tape up the frame too. DAT really put us all to shame eh?

Thanks! I try to keep it as tidy as I can. My mess usually starts building in late flower when it's hard to reach the back of the tent.

There's a small recess on the inside of the clamp where I pulled the string through and tied a knot. I made the string a couple mm shorter than the tent width so it would be pulled tight when clamped. I put just under two kilos of weight on it and it held no problem, the mesh is weaved so it's distributing the load on all the clips.

Awesome! Thanks for the tip! Did you also print those mounts that secure your scrog frame to the tent frame? Never considered not making the net removable... thank you!

Oh thats great! My 3x3 gorilla tent had that problem as well with a 6” exhaust fan on low settings. I made 2 custom scrog frames to hold it out haha. Thanks again!

If you printed them and sold them as a kit I imagine lots of people would buy them I would for a reasonable price and would save throwing away old nets with the clamp design

I'm not really entrepreneurial like that. My little printer took 20+ hours to print 40 clips so I couldn't do any real volume, and the thought of warranties and dealing with people gives me nightmares. I can make you some over the holidays if you want to cover shipping costs from Canada. I could also give you the model and you could use shapeways or similar to print.

Lol I hear you working in the manufacturing sector can be a nightmare I work In a shop making parts for the mining industry I've thought about using a mill and making a simple program to drill holes in a piece of pvc pipe or a hammer and nails but I love the clip idea I hate cutting out the netting and throwing it in the trash. My next grow will be different I plan to mainline them and maybe just use some wooden dowel stakes and a bit of string

I thought about mainlining but it looks like so much daily work and I like to be able to access the roots as long as possible. I'm working on v2 of the clips, I'm thinking of making them cylindrical so they slid over the rod with a wedge to stop them from sliding. I'll do that next grow, I'm gonna run these clips for better or worse.

Quick update, I dropped the screen down yesterday after doing a res change. They responded really well to trimming I did last week, in fact it didn't look like I had trimmed anything at all :shock: . The plan now is to let them veg for another week and fill out the screen a bit more, then flip them to flower on the 29th.

My plan is to run two plants in veg and 2 in flower once i get my cmh and mainline them to try and keep the trimming down to a minimum as I'm not the best at trimming and have trigger finger and early on set arthritis lol hopefully this will work out for me either way two plants to trim is better than 4 all at once lol.

Your pants are looking great mine are almost finished day 49 I find this is the hardest time I just want to hang em lol

I agree I found four to be a colossal pain in the ass... I don't know how people do it with dozens of plants. Isn't the veg time much more significant when you're doing a mainline? It will be sweet having a crop coming in every other month though. I have to checkout your thread, I haven't stopped by in a while.

I believe so I'm not sure how much longer but if a have to veg for a bit in the flower tent before I flip I will my other issue I have is that my place has a half basement half crawlspace and the humidity is insane in the summer so in trying to get my stash before summer hits. I think the humidity is coming from the crawlspace as it doesn't have a vapor barrier we also had all kinds of plumbing leaks in there which we squared away this summer so hopefully that helps.
