Day 8 flower update.

Just starting to see the first signs of pistils. I did another tucking and defoliating session with my Saturday morning res change. They've started taking significantly more water over the past few days, between 3-4 liters per day each. I'm getting close to an inch of stretch per day, the eight main stalks on both plants aren't stretching nearly as much as the new growth, but I think I've got it almost completely level. I'll do one more mid-week tuck and another on Saturday then let it go. I'm tucking a lot more than I expected... these things seem to recover from training in just a few hours. So many tops, I think this is going to be crazy!

First pic is after tucking on Saturday and the rest are from Sunday afternoon.

The canopy is filling up, you are going to have one hell of a harvest my friend!
Thanks Flatrate! I'm convinced it's going to get right to the edge this time considering I still have close to a week of stretching left to go.

I baked more cookies from using my gorilla zkittlez trim and under canopy buds. I made double chocolate chip and gingerbread. The chocolate chip tasted okay, the gingerbread were awesome! You could only taste a hint of weed and half a cookie was enough to knock me out for the night. I gave away the chocolate ones, I'm keeping the gingerbread ones for myself!

Day 15 flower. I did my final tucking and training on Friday. The skin onthe stems is getting hard and I broke one so I figure I should stop and let it do its thing. There are so many tops it's crazy. I managed to get a pic of the roots when I was doing the res change, it looks like the bucket is completely full. I'm using cannazym this time, I think it's working!

I got some free seeds that I'm thinking about running next time. GG#4 from canuck seeds. I realize that it's not the real thing. Anyone have any experience with them? I'm pretty thrilled with how uniform these og mints have been. I still have three more seeds so I can run them again if this grow turns out well.

Looks great! Been running the gorilla Skittles for a few grows now . It's such an awesome grow and the flower is one of my favorites as of late . All around beast.

Thanks @Flatrate I'm so happy to get flowering started. I find vegging so boring.

Thanks! I still have lots of the gorilla zkittlez left and really like how the high hits you intensely at first then settles into a nice long lasting buzz. the edibles I've made from it have been great for some of my sleep issues. This grow is chocolate mint og by humbodt seeds, I was just too lazy to start a new thread.

I should probably ask one of the mods to update the thread title to something more descriptive.

Day 21 flower update. I had to leave the plants alone for the weekend. They were topped up Friday before we left and were down to just a couple inches of water remaining by the time I got home Sunday afternoon and the PPM was over 1,200. These plants have an odd smell, kinda like an earthy burning rubber. Several of the 3d printed clips failed over the weekend and had to be reinforced with tape. I definitely have to figure something else out before my next grow.

Thanks @DustyDuke ! @TrashcanPicker yours has more leaves than I've seen on a polyploid before, which strain is that?

Day 28 update. Things have really exploded in the past five days and the smell has started getting stronger. Last week I posted that they kinda smelled like burning rubber. Well it turns out that one of my fans had failed and caused the smell lol. They smell more normal now that I removed the fan. It's kinda like spicy pine smell, definitely no chocolate or mint odor yet.

I'm really loving how consistent these humboldt seeds are. In all my previous grows I've had large differences between plant stature and nutrient requirements. These plants are pretty much the same size and have been consuming water/nutrients at the same rate. I think I'll have to try another humboldt strain next time around.

Day 36 update.

Looks like their on cruise control now. I've noticed a little bit of purple on the plant on the left, my night time temps are quite chilly averaging around 63-65°. The smell is really strong now, still no hints of chocolate but I can detect a slight mint smell. Keeping the water up is a bit of a challenge now. With the large root mass I can only fit about 2.5 gallons of water and they drink about at least one gallon per day.

Wow...looks amazing for far.
Hope the finish out strong for you!!

Thanks Willie! More pics, they're starting to get chunky. I started having a small issue with one of the plants. It has what looks rust on a couple leaves. I did a calibration on my ph meter and found that it was reading low by .3 Looking at growweedeasy.com it looks like a phosphorus deficiency. After recalibrating and doing a reservoir change it doesn't seem to have progressed any further so I'm just going to keep an eye on it for now.

Day 44 update. The leaf discolouration problem intensified last week. Reading on growweedeasy, I think the problem was a phosphorus deficiency, but it also kinda looks like magnesium deficiency. I did a reservoir change on Saturday, I decided to refill the problem plant with straight up RO water ph adjusted to 6.0. I left the plant brewing for about an hour then dumped and filled with my nutrient mix. The dumped RO water was 100ppm which I thought was kinda odd since it went in at 0ppm. I increased bloom nutrients and calmag an additional 100ppm for the plant that's having problems. I'm not seeing any other leaves having problems so hopefully that is sorted. Last pic shows the leaves that are struggling.

Is the plant on the right the only one having problems?

Yes just the one on the right. it started with just a few leaves having a paler colour than the rest of the plant and moved onto other leaves. It seems to have stopped progressing after the res change. At least I haven't noticed it on other leaves. It's drinking close to 3 liters per day and consuming the about the same nutrients as the other one.
