This is how I ended up in California.
My father was born and raised right near Ann Arbor Mi. His mother passed when he was 6 :-( His father bought them some property in the Ozarks where they moved to when he was around 12. They sold that property a few years later and made bank. My grandfather took my Dad and was heading to Acapulco. Stopped in Vegas and lost all his money I sware just like that.
So after highschool in Vegas my Dad moved in with some of our other family in LA to become a movie star. Was in some films nothing big.
that’s where he met my mother and then……..

One of our feral cats was a twin when he was born and his brother dissapeared one day when he was about 1 year old. Fast forward about 8 years and he just walked up to me while I was feeding the others and sat about 15 feet away. After the others were done I filled up a bowl for him and with a little coaxing he came right next to me and is eating. It's so cool he came back and his brother went crazy head butting and rubbing against him he was so excited to see him. The one that stayed is named Meanie and his brother is Minnow. Here are my reunited twins. Meanie is sitting on my knee and Minnow is watching from a bush nearby.

Well fuck me...There's a huge bike race, with 30,000 bicycles in NYC the day of my cruise. Tons of streets closed. Hotels are 3x their normal cost. It's the Brooklyn terminal....It's not going to be fun... Might involve a train or ferry it's looking like. I sure wish I knew, I would have waited a week!

This is why I don't normally travel !!

No turning back on the paint job now!!

That’s exactly why we don’t put vertical shitrock joints right there when rocking. On windows and doors, especially doors. A vertical joint towards the middle of the head is fine but absolutely not right there next to king and jack studs. it will crack everytime and keep cracking. :-(

I know, I'd like to ring who ever built this places neck. AND they didn't screw it, it's all nailed, and I have tons of nail pops on exterior walls in this room for some odd reason. Shitrock is right too...I hate the stuff! Plaster is worlds better!

Not too long ago nailing was the way shitrockers did it. I’m glad i got in after that lol.

You know what the best interior wall covering system is we hang what’s called “blueboard” it’s basically just sheetrock but with a paper that accepts Diamond brand type veneer plaster. Plasterers make some serious love to the walls coating it all with around 1/8” coat of plaster. I personally like an imperfect finish vs. completely smooth wall. But anyways it’s pretty much the best interior system you’re gonna get nowadays being that no one does the old interior lath and plaster anymore.

This area had loads of Italian immigrants who where famous for their plaster work. People from other areas always comment on it.

yeah the frames are 75mm stud frames and cross braced, so it was solid, the cement sheets just cant handle the steel expanding a little in summer, i think and crack near the cornice a bit
You’re the guy that recently framed up your house with steel right? Same guy?
As a drywall/lather/metalstudframer extraordinaire(lol) by trade, let me ask you a couple more questions. How did you finish the cement board? Where are these cracks happening? On interior walls only? More towards the center of house?
