Camping!

I thought my wife would be better left behind lol. She's a neat freak and I thought it'd be too much for her. But she rolled with the punches, actually had a great time and wants to go again. So that's good. I did bring way too much stuff. But a lot came in handy giving to my buddy, his wife and their kids.

There's a little more to this whole story. I've been best friends with this guy since intermediate school. Literally 20+ years. And he's one of those tortured geniuses. Too smart for his own good. When covid first hit he basically locked himself and his family inside for 2 years. Like literally didn't leave the house. This was the 2nd time. The first time being last month when our other musketeer convinced him to go camping as a way to softly rejoin society. So we tried it again. To much success. So this was just a good time for everybody with much success all around.
what state was this?....

I got a trip in Sept, no idea where yet...

Wife just ruled out going back here, she remembers bugs, I remember fishing and canoeing the river. >:(
Campsites are free too, even the cabins along the river. 88,000 acres along the river was donated to US Parks by Bert's Bees founder.

It's so cool; I wish my parents and I had enough time for this trip. It's not often when we manage to do something together, and it's always memorable. I like going camping, but we mostly do it with my friends, and I have never gone camping with my family because they are too busy for that all the time. But I'm sure we must do that because those are the moments that make you feel alive and the moments you will remember for many years to come.

Sometimes I think I just need to prepare everything myself and tell them we're going camping and they have no choice. Maybe it will work. I will even get similar flashlights so that they can have a souvenir from this trip.

Got my camp kitchen already packed in a 20 gal tub. Tarp, booze, coffee, campfire stuff, fuel, first aid.
Dried foods, snacks, breads get tossed in later. Holds about 5+ days supplies for 2 people.
If it's a longer trip, I'll throw out the stool, axe, saw, camp grill etc and add more booze, coffee and food. :p
