Can I finish trimming before bud is completely dry

I harvested my 2 plants 3 days ago. They still need to hang for a few more days. There are a lot of little half inch fan leaves attached to the bud. I was going to trim all of these after the plant hung for a week and before I starting curing them in jars.

I know it will take a few hours to trim all those tiny leaves. I have free time today so I was wondering if there is any negative effects from completely trimming the bud while it is still hanging. Thought?

I can't imagine why it would matter in any way, other than personal preference. You've got time, feel free to trim.

I did the rough trim before I hung them. I have to finish the trimming of the left over leaves

I do ALL my trimming before I hang them . No sense on having to do it twice .

Much easier to trim when they are still reaching out. They curl in when they dry.

Yeah in my opinion leaving to much leafy material causes a more grassy smell and taste. I wouldnt recommend it unless you must do it for humidity purposes. Always comes back after trimming and jarring them but not as good when your trim first and then hang an jar. Maybe im crazy.

That being said you are totally fine trimming them up the rest of the way. Ive done it quite a few times when i dont have time to finish all the trimming. You might even notice a stronger better aroma after doing it.

Only cut and trim your big stems once, it pays big time.

Just get it to near 62% and use these:

Hey man. I've been studying up on those. I read "on the Internet" that the 62's could cause mold. And it would be better to use a lower percent. Like 50's and I see bovada only offers a 49% below 62%.

I know nothing but, what I read on "the Internet", so I would appreciate your explaining your experience with mold issues and how long the packets last as well as how long you've kept the product viable with them. Thanks bro. If you have time.

Well, I've never had mold probs, ever, in 30+ years.

These days I hang for 10 days or so in 65% humidity. Then final trim and put them in mason jars w/the 62% Boveda packs. For up to one year.

It ends up perfect, never had a complaint.

Boveda 62 is a solid product

Well, it will last as long as you take care of it. I have some packs that are on their third drying/growing.

If you stress it much, like making it put out too much moisture it will ruin it pretty quick. Gets chrystalized.

On the other hand, if you take care of it, and keep it near the 62% range it will last for a long time, several cycles.

The deal is, it wants everything to come to 62% equilibrium. Put weed in too wet and it will suck it out. Too dry, it will add a bit of moisture.

But the best thing is putting it in w/a perfectly cured pile of weed..... it will keep it perfect.

I've used the Boveda's for a few years. They work well, although I'd rather the RH was in the 58-59% range instead of 62. Never had any problems. One year I even did a comparison with a Boveda cure and a traditional jar cure. Couldn't tell the difference. They make them in 2 sizes that I know of, one for a quart jar and one for a gallon jar. I've had them last over a year. The packet will get stiff when it's spent.

I also managed to RAISE the RH on a buddy's weed using them after the RH got way way low. Made it noticably more tasty as well.

ETA: I cure in jars and try to get the RH down to close to 62 BEFORE adding the Boveda.
