CANADA To Ban All Personal Growing By 2012 WTF

Problem is, the "6 plants" law is only addressing manditory jail time. 5 plants isn't legal, and you can even get jail time, it's just not mandatory.

From what I have heard recently (reliable legal source, but I can't name it so take it for what it's worth) no major changes will happen until 2013, and H.C. plans to give licence holders 13 months from the changes to observe them. That means nothing for at least 3 years to grow, and knowing our government ANYTHING can happen in 3 years, but most likely nothing will happen at all!

I read up, and follow all the news about this stuff just like everyone else, but really, I take it all with a whole lotta skepticism until it actually happens. I'm optimistic that things will remain as they are for quite a while before any licencing changes happen.

......but that's just me.
I agree with this. I also think it's worth mentioning the courts have consistently been on our side of the issue. It is far cheaper for a patient to buy a bunch of seeds from whatever breeder and grow their own medicine outdoors (or even indoors) than it is to buy from some company that may or may not be growing the genetics that work best for you and probably is growing complete crap (and all of it will be irradiated which I suspect isn't the best for you either) because the competition does not exist. Literally you can have a years worth of medicine for a few people with a few hundred dollar investment if you go the DIY route (outdoors). The method proposed puts undue pressure on citizens who might be considered among the most stressed given that this is a vital medicine for many just to function day to day.

I expect the Supreme Court will remain on our side on this issue, but anything is possible.

WTF??? Who's bright idea was this? I can't believe how we went from being liberal to becoming more strict than the US? These motherfuckers wanna control every last cent! Emery said it right...'OVERGROW'! How do these assholes think they can control a plant that grows naturally and expect people to pay for it...FUCK U! If this happens I'm going to the US where u can grow ur own. I'd pay a lil to get a grow license but I ain't paying to smoke...not happening.

Don't count on it, I think it's time for a global front.

6-199 plants in a rented property= 9 months mandatory
6-199 plants in your own property = 6 months mandatory
Not just Ont but all of Canada. People need to vote next election and get this Harpercrite out of office.

Harper and Obama are coming down hard on the mj community. And yes, I bet Sativex and a lot of other cannabis-based pharmaceuticals in the pipeline will be used as an excuse for killing off the mmj business. You can see all the propaganda about pot being "impure," "uncontrolled," all that shit. They will indeed sched 3 the less effective industrial chemicals, leave cannabis at 1 and pick up the pace on busting heads.

Just wondering, do you have private prisons in Canada? Here in the United Snakes I'm sure CCA is pushing for the creation of more criminals to help their bottom line.

First off it shouldn't be number of plants. It should be in actually square footage of rootbed you are using for flowering. Any person should be allowed as many non flowering plants as they want etc. You won't get more than 60days for the first time round.(in Canada)

How much time do you think you'd get for a qp? It is entirely bases on your personal profiling. I know people that's done six months for a gram. I got busted a few months ago with about a quarter and the charge was dissmissed. For the qp I got an absolute discharge. It has to be proven that you are a danger to the public before they can lock you up. In Canada the judge can give you seven years in a federal prison for the cultivation of mj.

I'm sure you're aware of C10?

I think he's talking about C10 but I'm not entirely sure. I believe it was originally 2 plants = mandatory minimum and then they upped the count.

You'd think the courts would side with the patients. How can the government force you to buy something you could make (grow) yourself? Especially after the fact they say they recognize that your health and well being would benifit from it. Makes no sense to me. If you require something and can produce it, how can THEY prevent that and make you pay instead? To phrase it slightly different.

Looks like South America is putting lots of pressure to legalize or decriminalize some drugs to help stop the violence in Mexico. If we fully join onto the Pacific Alliance the chances of REAL legal weed are going to get a lot better. However we will be one step closer to the NWO that they talk about in zietgeist.

^^^ - i do see some 'results' from that conference, Obama muttering about how he'd consider drug law changes, just not legalization
i don't care what the fuck he calls it, just deal with reality, and do the right thing at the same time

With a 4 gram a day need I cannot afford to buy it from the government. I don't have the income. Well I guess it's time to call Human Rights and file suit when this happens.
