CFL grow

@OP look into screw in LEDs bulbs. Much more penetration and photons than CFL bulbs.
As well as being more directional once you pop the glob off. You'll get more bang for your buck over CFLs.
Yeah ik I'm going to get a 300 w led 127 actual watts with a couple cfls

What I meant by my statement is. Instead of using the CFLs bulbs you are planning to add, grab the screw in led bulbs instead.Until you get your Mars.
Actually, you can get more spread and photons from 127 watts of screw in LEDs also. More work rigging them up to a frame and some wiring to do,but you'll get better production IMO.
I'm not trying to dissuade you from purchasing your Mars tho. Just putting it out there you have some options for the same price point.

I have 14 Screw in LEDs in a 2x4 veg spot for a total of 126 watts.I still need to do the bottom half of the 2x4 tent,I've been procrastinating tho.
I'll get a picture later to show ya what I mean.

Ok these photos look differant. I guess you musta meant the light was effecting the photo not the plant.

It seemed to me you ment the light made the plant turn yellow

They sell power strips at walmart and lightbulb to socket adapters (1$) and you can easily fit 3 bulbs per strip. That's a super easy cheap way to make fairly good lights. Sylvanna brand pushes 140 lm/watt and actually grows well
+Rep. Nice one growingforfun Right indeed. Just an FYI for OP You can get 4 Screw in LEDs on a power strip with the globe off. No wiring or rigging up a frame. Easy peasy.

Or order the 5 way or 7 way socket splitter from Amazon. I'd link it but my device is slow.

I would never recommend taking the bulb off the specific ones I mention, they are a differant design than 95% of bulbs out there. I highly recommend picking up a pack and looking at them if it's of interest to you

In the past I've personally bought every single brand of led and built fixtures in the way to find the best I could find locally in a givin area if I essentially had to fully start over with nothing but what I could steal or afford from a big box store.

During testing I found some brands are better with the lens/bulb and others are better without it. It's not a one size fits all solution to take the cover off ime

For many years I actually had a "growers bug out bag" that had ziploco bags of fox farms ocean forest, a pill bottle of seeds, and the lightbulb/adaptor/power strips in it lololol

I'd update it with newer bulbs an such as time went. Started with cfls then moved on to leds.

At this point it doesnt exist but it was a fun thing an minor obsession of mine for a time

Yes,you can do that. If I ever need more power for veg,I can add sockets splitters like growing suggested and move my rails closer to each other. This is nearly too much light for my veg needs right now.I have to keep cutting the gals back.

Here is a picture as promised earlier.

I could flower quite well with these bulbs also_Of course,I'd add more bulbs to meet the sqft. requirements.
That's nice but I'm only using Cfls for this week I'm upgrading to a 300 w led

My fault.I was only speaking of the screw in led light bulbs. 9-15 watt range. I didn't look up the bulb you referenced I assumed it was the same type of bulb

You're gonna need that anyway. You need airflow, no way around that. Also once you start adding up cfl wattage you will see heat.
I'm getting a 4 inch exhaust fan and some ducting smell isn't a problem so ima hold off on the carbon filter but I'm going to set up a passive intake with the 4 inch exhaust I only have a 24×24×48 grow tent using about half of that space with my one plant this run
