cfl's vs. 4' fluoros in veg

i currently have four 4' 40w tube fluoros on my clones that are in red cups vegging but i wasnt sure if i would get better growth from some cfl's or maybe quicker growth? will the clones survive/thrive under 160w fluoros? i have about 20 clones and they just rooted and got planted in cups...

The 4 foot florescent shop light will work better and provide better growth. Make sure you have the correct blue spectrum bulbs in the shop lights and not the warm daylight or red spectrum i them. Keep the light just touching the tops of the plants.The cup might not be such a good idea unless you make sure the soil is all the way to the top of the rim and then they will have to be repotted in a week before root bound sets in.The cfls cover less area and get alot hotter and cost more and produce less growth

That should do for vegging, id suggest you make some holes in bottom of cups to let water drain out.
