Cold help purple strains?

I've run over 100 plants with this strain and haven't had even one go hermie. How about in Afghanistan where my strain originates? Day temps average 80 + nite temps can drop down to the high 30's. My son was over there for a couple years and said the bud they grow is the shit! Funny he didn't mention any of the plants over there going hermie due to cold nite temps.
They are stable growing in nature.
You are growing geneticly modified cross strains and you got lucky.

I dont want just purple leaves , I want Purple Calyx and this I have with only one strain regardless of temps .. If cold temps are induced this lady almost turns black .. Give me temps lower than 60 and I can make any plants leaves turn purple but its still not purple weed ..
I said dropping the temp helps promote purplre buds.. I never said it turns the leaves purple. Lots of people do it and have sucess...

Here's my current grow. I think they look pretty good.
Nice. And clearly afghan.
Good work.
Some one said imagine what their rooms are like and i liked that comment and i should not have because your room looks sound.
Cobra has a nice room as well.
Its easy to get side tracked with new ideas but ppl forget the importance of factual evidence.

zach, it looks good, but you can do 18 zips in 12 weeks. stop talking and start listening. dont get caught up with the bullshit. there is a big difference from outdoor environment and indoor. you have a strain that is very stable, the op, most likely doesn,t have 1 so stable. ohh yea, i'm irish so chances are, your's is bigger...peace

Thanks for the compliment. I just know what works for me. I see alot of bullshit on here about growing. Such as giving your plants ice water to turn them purple when your just hurting them. I have grown strains outdoors that have no purple genetics yet, come fall they turn purple. I always thought it was due to the cold nite temps. Input please?

How can I do it in 12 weeks? I'd love to know.

If it suffered from cold temp stress it would not just turn purple in late bloom.
My guess is the strain had some purple breed into it, bit like a dog , its there cause you can see it , but how it got there is anyone's guess.
It is not possible for temp alterations to effect genetics.
Not ever.

How come I get no purple during summer months growing indoors? Granted the temps are around 10 degrees higher. Is it heat related?

Temp can not affect it, if you need proof say so , i will turn my pc on downstairs, currently watching my new 60* tv on my bed contemplating if its better here or in my front room and the other here,
Were these plants grown as individual seedlings ?
If clones were they all taken from the same plant ?was your mother a seed or clone ? Have you ever had a male go to long before being pulled or even a slight herm plant that maybe went unnoticed ?
So many parts to the equation but termp is not one of them . . .

Hot or cold temp fluctuations con only effect your plants health good or bad.
Some purple colouring can occur to stems and leafs and to hot can cause very light lime shades of green.
The actual mainframe of The structural balance of The plant can not be changed this way.
I have breed my own jack herer x grapefruit x Romulan , pure purple fruitness.
No cold ,some luck ,some skill and mostly knowledge that is available to all who wish to learn.

Plants were originally fem seeds. I've been cloning since first run. I take clones off my best 2 or 3 plants. Have never even grown a male indoors. And no hermies as of yet.

Yup don't know what I'm going to get, and from what I've read on this strain is it's a crap shoot whether the leaves turn purple, just the buds or both.

One thing for sure is I don't want to stress the plant and get male flowers turning up.

Cheers

Luck I can see since this strain is a hybrid.

How about taking out a few bulbs in the last two weeks of flowering, FYI CFL grow.

Your a noob. You say you see alot of bullshit on here but what experience do you have to back up your theorys of what is bullshit? Giving your plants some water with some ice cubes isnt gonna kill your plant. Were not talking about putting the plant in a freezer.. its giving it cold water at night and dropping the temp to help promote purple buds... If you dont think it helps turn them purple then good for you.. Its not gonna hurt your plant or cause hermies if you just try dropping the temp and giving ice water.. what proof does anybody have that it doesnt help?? especially from noobs who never tried it or only try it once...

They won't listen. They get an idea and off they go , no research or facts , me who studies it for a living is wrong.
Its easy to get side tracked with new ideas but ppl forget the importance of factual evidence.
So you study what makes a marijuana bud turn purple, for a living? Please enlighten us and give us some proof to back up your opinion... You would think somebody that "studies it for a living" would have something technical or scientific to say... yet you provide nothing at all.. so why would anybody just take your word? especially since people have dropped the temps and got purple B U D S... im curious where your "factual evidence" is since you do this for a living and must have that information but you dont post it.
