DIY with Quantum Boards

Where is talk of the accountability or culpability of Samsung by selling these diodes to others than HLG. when some emotions calm down people may actually think about this........

Doubt it. Like I said, they should stick to growing.

Are these QBs patented? What does the patent protect? And the million dollar question is whether it would even make sense financially to pursue legal action...

Yeah. Stick to growing guys....

There's no patent or they wouldn't be selling these samsung LEDs on ebay/alibaba/ their website / etc ... here's just one listing, there are hundreds on alibaba

^^that's the actual LED these boards use, if you want to make your own for 1/10th the cost. They are asking for 7 cents each.

So I only really paid attention to the qb304 but ended up buying four qb288
I'm not positive but I think I wire them in series on the driver I got
Hlg 320h-54 is that correct?
Forgive my lack of diy knowledge is series like this View attachment 3922167
You will blow your shit up if you run those boards in series with that driver. However the picture you posted is a diagram of parallel wiring, which is how you would use your driver. Couple more things, make sure the F(v) of all boards are similar (value is written on back of board). You will be getting 320 watts over the four boards and each will be running around 1350 ma

Quick question regarding the HLG-120H-C1050A I just received... so it has a little rubber plug that I can remove to access a screw that adjusts the internal pot... can this be adjusted while the light is running?

I will continue to do business with HLG. I know I am going to have questions and I think the great folk at HLG will continue to legitimately help the fellow DIYers out there.

This is my first DIY project and they had the compassion to answer my questions, for me.

TL;DR

Do business with HLG. They put the time in, great customer support, and even for the small guy it is an ability to get into new technology.

Starting a new thread for DIY build with Quantum Boards.
Please feel free to post your Mid-Power LED based designs here. Multiple LED Strips fine too.
This is the start of the thread. I would have assumed that others like @OLD MOTHER SATIVA could post here without being attacked or vilified their LED strips too. Maybe not all is as equal as it seems

Wow, this thread has really gone to shit. Can we get back to growing herb with LEDs? All ya'll suck ass. Stop jerking your shit about who's boards are ripoffs and who's have what diode blah blah blah fucking blah. Seriously, stfu. The QBs are great, they grow dank. Other people make similar boards. I can slap together some Samsung strips and make a bigass QB for less. Who cares?! Don't fucking buy them if you don't agree with the concept. Vote with your dollars, not your keyboard. I was a little upset with @Greengenes707 when he dissed RIU on techtalk, but he's not wrong. This place is a bit of a joke sometimes, and I haven't even been here that long. Get over your egos and make positive contributions or gtfo.

Green spleen disses on everyone, nothing new there.

Agreed we should all get back to talking grow lights. For all the bullshit, I haven't seen anyone doing it better than the guys on this forum.

steph

perhaps you should have pm'd me before you posted info online..i am just a hobby guy

i started with linear strips like you..i like the strips better

in the end i would have been much more receptive to changing something

the board is thicker..i will not use those wagos that way..and those were just

samples..

i sent only a request to factory

when i saw you were taking orders for units that were not near made

i did inquire further

all the best..i have no problem changing things,,but you posting a name does not make me want to refrain..

like maybe a pm would have..

i have never even seen one of your boards and the factory already had one similar
I haven't posted your name ???? I'm confused lol.
