Yet more evidence that a full spectrum LED light source is better for plants.

HID, the bell tolls for thee... it's only a matter of a few years before newbs start asking us old timers what it was like to grow weed with light bulbs.

There's no more incandescent in home lighting to speak of, it's all CFL or LED now. LED is ready to supplant T5 in gardening, now it's the big bulb's turn.

Well said, I have a small clone dome setup with a little 18in T5. I use a LED flood bulb instead and get better results. Its minor but I notice an improvement.

One of my Sensei's is telling me that no commercial grows use LEDs. Not exactly telling me in the spirit of good Christmas cheer today either.

EDIT! too late to change my original post, but unfortunately the data from Digikey was wrong, the size of the LED strips on their website is incorrect - so the numbers in this table are all wrong.
Here is the updated table:

I'm wondering what else is incorrect on Digikey now.

Geez guys. I need to get off this thread. Thank you @robincnn and @Stephenj37826 for your help - My inexperience with LEDs kind of confused me - the Bridgelux show up as the highest Lm/W but they aren't the highest output. The Samsung look like they are - which you already knew. Thanks again!

I'm gonna keep crunching these tables to find the cheapest configuration.

If you notice Digikey uses different data or maybe interpreted data. Bridgelux lists with 25*C, but Digikey data based of 85*C
