DIY with Quantum Boards

true that's way over rating. The good new is LED Gardener took a QB 288 to over 500 watts and it didn't fail! HLG built these boards well!

Yeah I know I was just letting him know 2100ma was to much because he said he wired 1 board up to test with one board wired up it's over the rating those old 304 have a 1400ma max. That being said they will run over their max rating it's just not recommended. His problem was solved like 5 messages ago maybe we should just move on

What’s up everybody I was wondering if anyone knows if drivers put out RF interference like digital ballast? Thanks this is my first post I hope I did it right

I'm trying to mimic a 4ft t5 2 bulb coverage for in a 2x4 area. Around 250-300 umol/m2/s should be more than adequate. Trying to be as frugal as I can while building something quality. Been debating even doing strips.

Trying to grow microgreen trays, four 10x20 trays per tier, on a shelving system. Figured I'd try my hand at making a vermicompost bin and growing some food too. But that's all a fairly undeveloped plan for summer, that I'm trying to keep very budget friendly.

Meanwell drivers are shielded for RF. You can also get RF chokes to put on your powercord.

@pop22 Quick update -- Received my QB324 V2's yesterday four total. Yay. They are smaller than I imagined from their website photo's and everyone's pics on here. Haha. Very well constructed however. The LED's look nice too. The sink seems like it should be okay too -- it's the level 2 sink. I will take photo's of everything here shortly.

Got my light today a 260W QB V1 LED Kit. I watched the vid posed on the HLG site and some others. I wired it all up nothing. So I checked, double checked then checked again all the connections still nothing. I wired The QB's up in series from the driver brown/red, blue/black to one side of the QB +/- the other side has one wire connecting + and - . AC side is wired brown/black, blue/white, green/green. Is this the correct wiring? Thx for any tip's anyone may offer up.

Do you have the 288 or 304 boards?

Edit: I'm going to guess 304 wire them in parallel

You can pick either 288 or 304 when you purchase this kit.

Decide on which way you want to wire , if parallel as shown then pick the appropriate driver for “ parallel “ wiring .....

See this :

The boards bought in pairs are Vf matched as a set .... by HLG .
Beauty of these boards ..... you can change wiring of same boards ( to series ) and open up more options of adding MORE BOARDS and drivers. So you will never out grow them.

Just pick the power needed for your space.

Rule of thumb .... have more watts than not enough.
Grab a B TYPE driver so you can have dim control via a linear pot.
Now you will have even more flexibility for early plants and various growth stages.

Quantum Warp Core build - QB 96s / 4000k / Sunblaster UV duals

Update :

Finally put the TEMP board 4000k ( 150w board power ) in place of the Dual 288 rig that had the driver fail ..... Mouser shipped the replacement and I will wire that into the dual 288s later , maybe tomorrow. The 4000k was a spare that I was gonna tripod mount like my other one .

Anyway the QB96s are killing it as the MAINS in this build , so much so I might grab 2 more for my build. The red 660nm are just adding to results. As far as the Sunblasters with the Agromax Pure UV
are quite strong so I had to alter their on time .

I picked a 4 x 25 min. per day at week 4 and week 6 . Plants would get kind sad if I ran it daily so I now run a full day , spread thruout grow.

These girls are at week 7 and are looking great . Expressing colors and triches a plenty. The UV added the extra cloudiness .

CHERRY PIE

Smells like jolly rancher and fruit .....

ALPINE COOKIES

Sweet , dank earth. With some purple / blue .

MENDO

Earthy tones , musk. Dense nugmeat.

PSYCHOFRUIT ( auto ) ....Week 4

Tropical fruit / weed smell. This one is stocky compare to another one that is growing at same week 4 .... they are hempy buckets in straight perlite and using GH MAXIBLOOM. Great coloring and growth.

Blueberry Blast

Now for her ..... she rodelized and threw a couple of seeds ...
Not all over just a couple of spots. I consider this a bonus since she did not have any herm traits.
Sometimes nature triggers the survival response and keeps the line going... she is swelling more than some of the others and is a hardy girl . Looking forward to piping this girl up.

I was just looking at those QB96's -- those seem powerful. What wattage are you running yours at? How do you mount them? You find them to be better lights than your regular QB boards?

The HLG site says to wire it up in series for maximum output. I have the 304 boards.. I'll see if that works, thx.

Which driver and what boards. You may need to wire in parallel.
