DIY with Quantum Boards

I got drivers, heatsinks, and dimmers in for my DIY 8 QB288 v1 480W build, going to try to get at least the first light hung by this weekend.

Last things I need to get are screws to mount the boards to the heatsinks. Do I need to use M3? Am I ok to use 0.125" / #5 screws instead? I can't seem to find a drill bit / thread tap locally that is metric. Everything is in inches, and everything on Amazon that is metric is some no name brand that I am afraid will break halfway thru the job. Seems to me it would be fine but I also read that the wrong size screws have caused ppl to short out their boards so want to double check before I buy the wrong thing.

From reading on here, if I remote mount my drivers, I need to use plastic washers between the screws and boards?

Super stinky bitch ... sweet kushy notes. Very prominent odor. 9 weeks in but will give it another 5 days.
maybe. Same layered mix and myco / MYCOCHUM feeding and water at 6.7.

1 gallon grow bag ... 380watts with 10000k finisher sunblaster T5 and Pure Par bulbs. Didn’t run the Pure UV on this but will on the deputy after I get this one out of tent.

I could really use some help on purchasing far red boards to supplement my R specs to do end of day treatments.
I am interested in running 6x of these in my 5x5 https://horticulturelightinggroup.com/collections/quantum-boards/products/qb-3-far-red

I was thinking two of one of these drivers for all 6? Maybe the first one so they're a little softer driven?

The site puts these drivers as recommended
APC-16-700 - Two or Three QB 3 in Series
APC-25-700 - Three or Four QB 3 in Series
LPC-20-700 - Three or Four QB 3 in Series

Just ordered two v1 boards in 3000k, along with a Slate 2 double, and a new 2'x3x5' tent for all-purpose overflow grows (it'll go in the bedroom closet). This fixture will be powered by an HLG-185H-54A. Hard to beat a 200+ watt light for around $150. That'll bring me to 12 Quantum Boards in total, across 5 independent grow spaces. And to think, when I first started growing, I imagined one grow cabinet would be enough. Haha...

Thanks, I've been watching all the videos. Hes right on far red for lettuce but i dont think far red will benefit cannabis. He seems to say that in the video.

Far red will initiate faster flowering in cannabis by up to a week. I think small ratio's of far red will also have positive morphological effects.

Ive gotten faster harvests by manipulating my timer to 11hrs on, and ive gotten longer flowers by doing 13hrs on. More light simply =more bud in my opinion. I see a lot of plants on here that are stretchy and falling over, of course thats great sign you got lot of bud but i cant help but think that the stems arent moving around nutrients and completing metabolic process as efficiently in that state. There's a lot to be said for not equating plant health with yield though. I think as a community here we've established it as fact that less numbers of plants that are healthier and larger over time equates to higher yield than more, faster, smaller plants. It also seems real odd that as a community we're obsessed with node spacing and then thos hype came up about far red(stem elongation) and now everyone's jumping on it AND lets not forget that guy works in the lighting industry. Why hasn't HLG come out with a RSPEC + or something with far red? Theres some interesting talk about emmerson effect being used to use more light hours but i think lot of these people just lying or have genetics they didnt know they had. There's also significant evidence that Far red can reduce color and flavor compounds and Cannabinoid content often seem goes along with that for some reason. Idk how much more crap that can put on a QB until it goes up 4x in price and is a clusterfuck that only gets marginally better yields at the cost of quality and having to deal with viney plants. I would buy a 660+FR QB but I'd much rather have a 660+UV, im interested in some other things though and from my research a CFL would be the best supplement for LM301B.

CS sprayed lower growth for femmy pollen then used on “ Tops “ of same plant. Well ended up with a shitload of beans ! I have a KKP grown out to harvest ( in a few days ) and love this strain ...
Deep purps / Sweet gas smell / dense flowers.
