Expensive seeds

you guys are all a little naive to think that seed prices are high. in the future, the most expensive part of the growing/cultivating process will be quality seeds, clones, and males. right now we're experiencing the opposite phenomena because of the influx of customers. some breeder/grower charging you $25 for a seed or a clone knows what they could do with that one seed or clone, but because of the sudden over-saturation of newbies they know they have to effectively 'dumb-down' their pricing structure. they have to assume that someone is going to buy that seed or clone and get one plant out of it because they don't yet understand proper plant propagation (and it's rude to act like you know someone's future). if you're smart you'll snatch up every rare bean you can while no one is famous enough globally to fetch real-future prices. $100+ for 10 seeds?.......fucking childsplay. be smart. buy for genetic quality. good luck

if people are winning cups with it, don't listen to the haters. pay what they're asking now because certain parts of the weed industry will wayyy outperform the black market.......and seeds/clones/males are some of them.

Some breeders ive tried and liked that were in the cheaper price range are Female, Vision, Kannabia, Humbolt, Emerald Triangle, and even had great luck with GHS In the past.

Nah, dont think it has anything to do with "reputable".
Cali Connection has a terrible reputation but still get top dollar for seeds.
TGA is a pollen chunker and still gets top dollar, etc.
It is all about marketing.
I meant popular. I was drunk.

I'm in agreement with jimmyconway8. And besides the price per seed vs what you get in the end is an insane profit margin if you want to talk about costs. Let's say your NOT even going for a large harvest and pull 3 zips dry off a plant with little veg time. I'm going to use my area and profits as an example. An OZ of good mature quality bud can easily go for 350 - 400 all day everyday. If I payed 25$ for a single seed and got 3 zips from it quickly then that's a damn good return considering the costs associated with it.

i agree, however what about the time you pay high prices for a seed that dont sprout or turns out to be a male or a plant that is like ditch weed??

i would love to know which breeder(s) isolate these great pheno's??? most are pollen chuckers using known cuts that they never had any type of breeding with....please go on.....
I don't remember his name and I haven't used his seeds yet, but the breeder from Alphakronik who did the AMA on Reddit really made a good case for himself and his company. I'm a small-time amateur hobbyist, so think whatever you want about my comments, but he seemed very knowledgeable, and it sounded like Alphakronik seeds are likely to be highly stabilized. He had reasonable answers for a wide range of questions, and got technical and talked a lot about his methods. Seemed like too much info to be BS, to me anyway.

I never actually have any problems with seeds not sprouting. Out of seeds purchased its safe to say I'm batting over 9 out of 10. If I try and pop 25 beans and get 23 sprouts those 2 lost are a complete non issue. I don't lose sleep at night over em. The funny thing is a batch of cheap seeds I got only had a germ rate of 8 out of 15. Expensive seeds ending up male? If Im running non fems I expect half of them to be male. Which is why I dontt purchase them anymore and haven't for quite some time. I ran a lot of regular seeds last season as a side project to experiment on but those were from a patch that was fully seeded a year prior. The only regular seeds I have is a growing collection of Herbies Freebies. Mostly long flowering Sativas so they'll probably collect dust unless I decide to go further South. Ditch weed? Haven't had a problem with potency. Grew out beans from Mexi brick. Ended up far better than its parents because it was treated right and given enough time to flower properly. Fed etc. Harvested and actually cured. Hell I had an ounce that fell behind the bed in an airtight bag and didn't discover it til 6 months later. It smoked well.

Depends on the market. Supply and command. Not in legal statehere. Check out the penalties on Norml for TN. Hell you can still get sheaf here. Dealers (smart ones) shift out of their business from time to time. The ones that don't are the ones who get caught cause they're careless. Or dealer loses their connection for whatever reason. Unplugs due to significant other busting their balls. You know everyday life? Price tags involved have risk factored in. Some of us don't live in the land of happy rainbows where we can grow as we please. Most legal state people have forgotten or never knew about watching their asses in the 1st place.

This has much to do with geography. I know for a fact that $400 a zip is still happenin in some spots that are a little lean on the truly top shelf stuff. Overpriced ? Sure...but then again, its worth is what one can get for it :)

...Word there man for sure. Again it clearly depends on where you are. Generally, the bigger the risk, the bigger the money.

pitiful that i can count em on one hand and have fingers left over. what i find humorous is, there are quite a few real breeders that will not get into the selling of beans. i can understand why too. nice to have friends!

alph or jay, whom ever he goes by now is someone i will never buy from again (we've met). very unscrupulous imo! he's a thief on top of it. he's far from a breeder in my eyes.

Those are serious allegations. Without having met him myself or knowing anything about you, him, or your past relationship, I can't help but go on what I know about him and his seeds, which is that they seem good, and that he talks a very good game, at least.
And it seems like you are trying to make it sound like he changed his name to fool us or something - he gives a name, I just didn't remember it (as I said), and Alphakronik is his commercial name, obviously - who doesn't use a company name when doing business? If you'd care to explain your accusations, and what the rest of us are missing, please do, because they are quite grand and I do not understand why.

i have over 100 strains, 1000's of dollars worth, pluss i breed all my f1's to stabilized hybrids then create f1's of my own,,1,000's of seeds but i still want to buy certain strains, i really want green crack at the moment,,even though it would be years before i could plant it..i worry half my seeds wont pop by the time i get to them. even in the fridge in airtight bags they degrade over time..
