FFOF Vs Roots Organic Soil~Pictures=Proof

And that is a good observance of the scientific process. The more comparisons, the more examples and numbers to fuel known statistics ;).

It is very easy to misuse a soil, if you do not understand the soil. Square 1 being ingredients and their actual sources. Next being the processes used to mix and store, or compost, etc. and so on and so forth. Understanding the different properties of the ingredients and their effects on each other makes a difference as well.

I added perlite to my Roots Organic, and it was more successful.

Different soil properties require different maintenance and techniques for optimum results. You have to Adapt yourself in order to take advantage of what you have. Or you can get what you always get and do what you do......
The Hydro guy said just add a seed or plant. (making me run circles) I never add compost or guano, etc (mixed in soil) to my FFOF and my yields are between 4-7.5 per plant indoors under a 600hps. So keeping it all the same was the way for me to see if RO was better than FFOF, it is not. Here are a few of my harvest, all indoors of course.
Of course if you change soil, your going to need to change how you grow. And doing things exactly the same won't get you the same results.

nice plants and nugs..... but I don't see your point.... unless your point was "hey, look at these nice buds"

I see, looks good. How did they smoke?
I get what your saying GG. Here is my input on this subject. If you do nothing to your FF soil and it produces those results well then good job. I think we all strive for a good easy medium to use. We dont want more work than what we have to maintain our grow rooms. If FF is a better soil from the start than it is. Seems evident. It seems like everyone is saying to mess with the soil to have to obtain optimum results. Isnt that exactly wehat we are doing is comparing soil to soil??? Technically speaking I feel if it is a good soil than not ONE thing should really have to be changed. If you have to change to obtain better results than why am I buying a soil?? WHy not just mix my own if in the end thats what I'm having to do. Good grows GG and I hear where your coming from. It should not be science it is straight up soil vs. soil. That is the comparison and all of you who keep digging in to this further than need be chill out and think about what your saying. Mix your own soil if you want to obtain a better soil but I use FF straight up and can grow like a champ and am using prollly have the nutes over the grow cycle than with RO. It retains less from my understanding. FF overall is a better medium with nothing else needed to be added. Hope that sums it up.

ok, really, theres no point anymore arguing over this. we can all agree that A) this experiment did not scientifically prove anything and B) FFOF works best for you.

nothing wrong with that. ocean forest works great for me too. lets just not mislead people into thinking that fox farm ocean forest is FOR SURE better than roots organic. once again, I am not biased towards RO at all, I have only used FFOF in my grows. I just have respect for the scientific method which has been pounded into me through standard public education as well as higher education.

i wonder if these soil companys did all this sci-fi s#@t,
i would think they would have too,to be able to say
your soil is better than, that soil.
i wonder how many test???

The comparison was done just for that reason, to see if RO Soil could out grow over FFOF soil in my garden ( no science needed).

People will take from this what the will, no mis leading.

I am sure most of you have seen RO 707. You know why they now make 707 ? Because there regular RO can not hold up against FFOF in veg. 707 has a higher N content.

Roots Organic being based right here in Eugene, Or. That is why they push it so hard. And every time I am in the shop I hear them sway customers away from FFOF saying it will burn your plants. Think they did scientific research to come up with that lie ?

A medium can be soil or it can be hydro and they will require vastly different upkeep. 2 days and you continue with the entertainment. You are a very determined individual, sir.

Hey everyone watch this.

OP you used 2 different soils and used seeds for a comparison from 2 different strains. You then gave them the same regimen of nutes even after your plant showed signs of stress. What do you think you have proven with these events?

So I went into the local hydro shop yesterday and talked shop outside so we could speak freely. I asked the RO pusher if he has ever did a comparison with RO vs FFOF ? He said yes every day right there in the sun room ( vegetables) . I agreed with him that the comparison the shop is doing with the veges, well the RO looks a little better, but only in fruiting not veg. So I asked what about in your personal garden? He said yes the FFOF blows away the RO in veg because the RO is less Nitrogen and more Potassium. He went on to say that when he went from veg to flower with the FFOF that the yields where slightly lower than the RO because he goes from a 3 gal to a 5 gal then 12/12 the next day and the FFOF being so full of nitrogen slows the budding process.
He acknowledges that my yields are always so high because I do the final transplant into a 5 gallon 2 weeks before going 12/12 and that reduces the amount of nitrogen before flowering starts. Also helps having huge veg plants so you have to water on a daily basis and the soil (N) is really getting flushed just before 12/12.
His method with the RO works great for him, being he is a SOG from Clone's guy. Me I am mainly from seed and I want faster grow's in seedling and veg so the FFOF works best for me.
I asked him what he thinks about using the FFOF from seedling to a 3 gallon pot, then just before going 12/12 use RO for the final transplant into a 5 gallon? I may try this.

now thats what im talking about,
TRUTH.
but,i must say i transplant the day befor flower, from 1gal 16"plant,to this time 2 gal pots, with that extra(N)
and ,new root growth, keeps the plants nice-n-full.

I germ my seeds until I see a rootlet which is normaly 12-24 hrs after 24hr soak, then 1 gal - then 3 gallon, then 5 gallon 2 weeks before going 12/12 .I keep adding N for the first week of 12/12 .
now thats what im talking about,

Can't Clone
So I've started growing recently (about 4 months ago). I have an indoor grow-cab perfect for vegging/cloning/weak flowering (during summer) and i have a greenroom out back facing east and slightly south that i use for real flowering. Everything is going smooth and i have a pretty decent green thumb apparently.

The problem is that i cannot seem to clone. I've tried using both vermiculite and rockwool in a dome in a veg area with 2 20 watt 2" tubes. I've tried over 50 different cuttings across over 7 different plants ranging from sativas to indicas. I've tried an 18hr cycle and a 24hr cycle. I've tried not misting as well as heavy misting and some in between. I've only tried 1 rooting product though. Rootone. My dome stays at around 75-80 degrees. Ive tried both distilled water and water straight out of the goldfish pond in my greenroom. Hell i've even taken cuttings and stood them up IN the pond just to see but my turtle ate half of them.

I'm really at a loss of what to do. I've google'd cloning 100 times and tried all the scarification technique's and i have yet to succeed in cloning a single plant. HELP!

Ok i just went out back to water them for the day and saw the fish going for the clones* like bunch of rabid piranha so i probably shouldn't try that anymore.

There is just a lot Im not going to say about this...

What kinds of N are in both soils exactly? Types and sources please? How do they interact with the other ingredients in the soils? How SPECIFICALLY, do the plants interact with the soils?

You must be some kind of mad scientist with all your in depth questions, or maybe your just anal.

Thank you all for your input on my soil comparison. It was fun, and I enjoyed some of the arguments/difference in opinions.
Take care and Happy Grows to all. :joint:

Yeah I was using bag seed that didn't clone well. I learned to not waste my time with bullshit genetics. I see you completely disregarded the message and tried to discredit the messenger, again. You are only trying to distract yourself and your readers from the fact that you got called out. All you did with your attack was further prove my point.

Btw the plants that I used to learn the best way for me to clone with turned in to absolute monsters and yielded me more hash than I am comfortable mentioning, regardless of my legal status.

Hey its been awhile since I've seen whats going on here, I read the last 5 pages and I must say that we should change the name of this thread now to "EGO'S LAIR".

Peace out
