Dude I gota give you props. You tore this run up. Very nice I like how you do your business. Very clean orderly like. Retired Air Force here. I think the service life instills those values in a person. Way to go and thank you for sharing your run.
Thanks a lot, I'd like to keep better organized as far as keeping better notes but this was a good run for me. Even with 3 of the plants in 2.5 gallon pots and just one in a 5 gallon I beat my previous highest yield by over 30%. Having the extra space of this new 5x5 makes it much easier. I just finished trimming the Pre 98 Bubba Kush and now everything is wrapped up.
I gotta try to get my vegging plants healthy as they sat way too long in a very cool tent in Solo cups. I'm getting my Triangle Kush and Trinity clones in on Thursday so I have to sanitize the clone/veg tent and get ready for those.
My wife's Dad was career Air Force and she lived all over the world as a kid. My entire family is Army with men serving from current all the way back to the Civil War when my first ancestor arrived from Ireland and chose Army service in the war for his citizenship. We just love playing in the mud, what can I say :bigjoint:
Welcome to RIU and do stop by the veterans thread. There's a fair amount of vet's that hang out here so I'm sure you'll find it a nice place to learn and share.

Don't forget they have a discount code for RIU. I can't remember it but I'm sure they can get it to you if you message them here. There tent has been a 10/10. Super thick fabric, no light leaks that I can see and really strong poles.

You can use the coupon code; Rollitup when checkout.

Nice run with that new light. How high above the canopy do you keep it and the wattage you have it dialed in at?

At week 7 of 12/12 I stopped with the nitrogen and cal mag due to nitrogen overdose. At the start of week 8 I removed the hps bulb and installed an led fixture. But at 14” above the canopy and set at 700 watts Over the last week, I am losing a lot of fan leaves. And still have 2 weeks to go. I am thinking I had the light too close with too high a wattage. I usually keep everything green until the harvest. i Have never lost so many fan leaves with my hps.

I didn't get to run the light at 100% power as my canopy was uneven and the top colas we're too close even with it raised to the roof of the tent. I ran around 500-575 watts for mid flower and then dialed them back as the plants started to ripen. I think 24" would be a good height for this light at full power but there is a hot spot right under the center Where I think 30" might be better. I'm flipping earlier with smaller plants so hopefully I'll have some wiggle room with the height.
Getting a LUX meter or quantum PAR meter is a really good idea with the high power LED lights. It can help you dial in the right canopy height and prevent light stress.

Thanks for the response. Yesterday I bumped down to 550 watts and today I will raise the light higher. I am using the medic grow spectrum X fixture. I knew I would lose a lot of leaves under the canopy once I switched to the led. More than likely I went from one extreme to the other with the nitrogen. I plan to get a couple pics today before light comes on. Maybe I will start a thread so I can post stuff and not clutter your thread. I will be sitting in here still because i like what your doing.

Post up any pics and questions you have right here, it's no problem. I'm here to learn and help out if I can. If you post some pics of the canopy maybe we can all help get it figured out.

Ok so these were surrounding a 400 watt hps with the bulb hanging in the center below the canopy for 7 weeks of 12/12. They have been under the led for 8 days. I went in before light came on with a flashlight pics 1 and 2. They look much greener than under the grow light lol. I definitely had the light to close, I can see a few small light bleach areas. I raised the light to about 20 inches and set for 480 watts and see what happens. The room is 73 to 74 degrees and 45 to 50 percent humidity. They are just starting week nine of flowering.
pic 3 is with the light on v1 spectrum and pic 4 is with f1 spectrum which I have on. I don’t grow huge buds with a 400 watt hps and when I do, budrot gets them. Any constructive criticism would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like a good decision to raise the light. I like to run a little warmer temps with led, around 80-84. I'm not a huge cola fan either as I worry about budrot.

Awesome run! I am glad to see someone else speak on dialing back the light in the end. When feeding less, and leaving the light at full power I start losing leaves quick too.
@smoke and coke so you aren’t alone. LED means it when they say a lower watt LED can be equivalent to a higher powered hps light. Some strains actually don’t like so much light. I just started trimming my 2nd banana Kush run, and 480w in a 4x4 was killing her slowly.. I didn’t care lol. I looked at the remaining leaves and thought confidently (might i add. Lol) “She’ll make it to the end!” Was a close call.. but also I ran it with dry organics.. wasn’t much I could do to assist. If there was something I coulda done.. I wasn’t aware.
This was one of the fattest tops.

Getting ready to start a new journal on this run of mostly clone only stuff. I plan on flipping this weekend but I need to supercrop the Motorbreath 15 plant really heavy to get it lower before flip. The rest of the lineup looks like Bubblegum, Purple Punch which I had been calling Grape Punch until I checked my notes and Useful Seeds Genius Thai Extreme x Chocolate Trip. I just picked up a Triangle Kush and Trinity clone that I'm chomping at the bit to flower but it will be awhile before they're ready for cuts for flowering. Hope everyone has a great weekend.IMG_20230627_164852810~2.jpg

All these will be getting selectively pollinated with BOG Seeds Blue Moon Rocks pollen that I won in a contest from the man @Doug Dawson so I'm hoping for some fun crosses.
