First grow... How does she look?

Shwazzing is what they called it. It's the thing.. But you have to really know the strain and be on point with your feeds. You can't just cut off all the leaves and expect something magical to happen.

Earlier when I was searching I seen someone shwazz a pure sativa plant before all the hype it was pretty crazy looking.
Yeah I've seen and heard of it. Fucking stupid is my personal view on it.

Many arguements for it, many against it. I do it with most strains have good results..

But also it depends on how many plants you have, lights, feed, medium etc.
These days I consider defoliation an advanced technique. lol you see lots of hack jobs.

@Jejekeke I spent 5 minutes trying to say your name outloud... I think your plants look great

Like you said, its a situational technique for specific cultivars. In hindsight, it was a bold move to attempt it but being a born risk taker i gave it a go and it looks like its paying off.

Hahaha its a tongue twister. Thanks mate.

Also on a side note - i did manage to clone the mother before i flipped her. Carrying on the legacy.

... Read up heaps on the blue cheese strain and its known to have so many foliages that its not even funny. Ive defoiled countless times and i believe its helped me with the yield ...
She is doing very well.

You are on Day 46 of flower so there should be no more defoliation. I schwazzed a Blue Cheese once and will not repeat that mistake. The selective pruning of a leaf here or there would be OK. She's gonna want to use those leaves at her discretion - not yours - in the final 3 weeks.

I've been rolling that strain for close to 4 years now and don't find they are any leafier than others. The Red Diesel beside her has more foliage.

Last defoiled was in week 3 flower.

Ive applied techniques that has been proven from multiple sources as reference. Obviously somethings i said have been overstated haha.. afterall it is my first grow!

Im learning and most importantly im really enjoying growing. Never thought i would become a gardener but look at me now..an amatuer looking to make his first harvest in a few weeks times! Bloody excited. Not sure about others but theres a zen like feeling when im attending to my garden.. personal problems and all the bullshit going on all around the world dissipates for the time being. All attention, care and nurturing is directed to the ganja. Feels good.

Happy growing fam!

... And has very nice genetics by the looks of it ...
It's a Blueberry crossed with U.K. Cheese. It's not a temperamental plant ... healthy yields ... clones well ... no couch lock for an indica dominant hybrid ... checks all of my boxes, as it were.

@Jejekeke - we are on the same trajectory it appears. Today is Day 47 of flower. This strain typically flowers for 63 to 65 days so I am estimating just a tad under 3 weeks left till chop. This lady is showing about 50% brown hair and within the next week I anticipate that slight frost to begin to appear.

Looks great. I will ride her out til shes ready.

In terms of trichomes, what should i be looking for in this cultivar?
Just a word of advice, dont harvest until it looks like the best bud you have ever seen. Most of my 65 day strains go to day 80 or longer. Letting them mature is definately worth it. They look good for first time. Better than good.

Well ... lot of them! :-)

You will see the heads turning amber. I also find that there is "the look" to the bud. Majority of the hair are brown hair, the sugar leaves have a frosty appearance and the remaining fan leaves look like they are on their last legs. A close-up of one a B.C. top close to the start of Week 7 - this lady went another 15 days after this pic was taken:

Absolutely. True North seeds claim this plant is done in 52 to 57 days. Never had it finish less than 63 - most times more like 65. Take seed bank and breeder finish times with a grain of salt.
I like to count after buds are set. Bc until then in veg preflower. The stretch stage, usually 2 to 3 weeks after flip. Cultivar lm running sets in 2 weeks but have had others take a month. Mostly sativa dom strains.

True. But I wouldn even take it with a grain of salt. Iv had phenos go well past the breeder dates. They cannot predict nature

Ive heard of people starting the flower count when buds first set in too. In my case, they first appeared from about 2 weeks in from the 12/12 flip. Ill wait and harvest when its truely ready.

Me too. I count when clusters are formed. That’s my week 1. But if I’m being honest. I really only mark week 1 and after that. I go by how the plant matures. I pretty much lose count on purpose. Then when I feel like they look done. I go back to the calendar. Look at my set date. And usually I’m at around 10-12 weeks Time flys.

Some buds sites are starting to ripen while most of the others are still growing new white hair especially the main colas. Some foxtailing on the top buds closest to the light, indicating too much light i think so ive been dimming it down and monitoring it. Temps and humidity is dialed in so must be an light issue contributing to the FT.

Update on my clones- first 2 clones were transplanted into 2.6g fabric pots 1.5 week ago. Some defeciency issues with light green/yellowing leaves. They are now recovering but slow growth right now. 3rd clone was transplanted into 1.2g pot a day earlier and is growing nicely. This was a experiment for most part as i didnt have smaller pots for the first 2 so straight into their final pots.

This example shows the importance of constant transplanting and its effect on growth and issues.
