First Hydro Grow !

hi everyone, im new to the website and new to growing. ive done alot of reading and scrounging up the parts as cheap as i could for my ebb and flow setup i want to try. the whole grow consists of:
1- 2x3x8 tray for vegging (havent decided to do a octopus/spike/drip, or ebb and flow)
2- 2x3x8 tray for flowering ebb and flow using botanicare ebb and flow kit.
the trays are masons trays from lowes. they were $11, and way better and stronger then the hydro trays at the hydrostore.
1-150 watt hps switchable to mh. (might be to small for flowering)
1- 400 watt switchable metal halide? (still talking with the local hydrostore guy about it.) all my seedlings will be under t8 sunshine bulbs 5000k 2650 lumens. under hydrodomes or without. i wont be cloning this first grow, becuase im starting with lowryder#2 and am told it is hard to do, if not immpossible. i am hoping my setup will keep 12 plants going strong. its my first grow so im going with feminized auto flowers so i can focus on learning nutes.next i would like to try bc mango or northern lights. something consistant, and clonable. any help would be awesome. me and my beautiful wife just moved so we dont really know anywhere to get advice on growing. thanks a bunch:eyesmoke:

sounds like you have a good idea of what your doing. i would suggest the drip system, its really easy to do. if possible you should get a 400 watt light. it would increase your crop and its a good investment. go to the bookstore and buy the grow bible. goodluck

THANKS! ive been getting the parts together for awhile. i just need my seeds to come in.i think i wil wait for a little feedback from people, before i decide to procede. as for the drip system. are you reffering to just for vegging or just for flowering or both? im open to everything, and hopefully i can pull alot of info from everyone. i have spoken with the hydro guy again. im getting the hydro farm 400 watt switchable. just waiting for the funds. i was also wanting to know if i should veg under the 400 watt and just switch the bulb between veg and flower? and if so can i use the 150 watt hps on my seedlings or should i get a mh bulb for it as well to prevent stretching between nodes. just for this first grow im using lowryder 2, so a little stretching is fine. i would also like to try the technique of a string trelis across the tray to support the stems during heavy flowering, so a little stretching is again, not a huge problem. thanks again.

update yo! got 4 diesel seedlings going good about 7 days of above ground growth, lookin at the first two sets of leaves and about 1/2 inch of growth from the cotylydons to the first leaf set. already growing outta the 4" grodan cubes, dwc buckets for them. and im gonna start my lowryder2 as soon as im a week into veg. that should give the diesel time to veg while the autos are meeting them at the same place in there cycle.im gonna veg the diesel as long as possible, and the goal with the autos is hitting the end of harvest just as im putting the diesel into flkowering. 6/12 solid weeks of growth for the autos, with gh nutes. itll match up pretty good hopefully.

262.jpg282.jpg275.jpg280.jpg263.jpg279.jpg285.jpgalright, after 5 weeks ,with 3 weeks left here's what happened so far. I acquired a tent, an inline air conditioner, and probably my best improvement Dutch Passion's line of 3 part nutes, and there late bloom booster the heavies. the pics are a bit out of order but the new air conditioner was $35 at goodwill and works like a charm. the picture show my 400 watt E-wing digital lumatek, my masons tray from home depot flood tray($11 and super sturdy) and the nifty little compost co2 generating bags made in missoula montana(pros:$25 lasts six months, cons: easily ripped and cannot be stored for later use)with 3 weeks left theres nothing to do but wait. i will be flushing after the final week with florokleen. up next( and in better order, haha) i will put pictures up of the haarvest drying, and ultimate smokage!!!:leaf:peace out till we meet again:leaf:

hey sorrry i didnt get back sooner....i run 2 genhydro waterfarm drip systems..love them both and they are great for flowering and vegging as well as for multiple types of plants. completely self contained except for the air pump that sits outside of it...i made a dwc bucket too. 5 gallon bucket with a 10inch net pot inside of it with a a single top feed tube and 2 airstones...put a seed in it and it sprouted n began growing fine but then ended up dieing for other reasons. i love dwc and drip tho..hydro is the way to go. im running mostly soil now but its a pain. keep growing n ill keep checking back. good luck n if u got questions lemme kno

oh sh** i didnt even report. the diesel seeds i started with, and the pics i started posting recently are of diffferent plants.the diesel from club compassion on nevada turned out to be outdoor. just for future reference there shit sucks. i had to take it outta the tent. they were in buckets too. but the girls that are doin good now are lowryder2. i measured when i got back from work 36 inches is the tallest, and the shortest 31. i have never heard of these kinds of results, but i have plenty of pics to prove it. i guess hydro really does work.

Damn dude 30+ inches is some incredible luck for an autoflowering strain but I always hear good things about the lowryder 2 so I'm gonna have to try it...where'd the auto seeds come from? I had shit luck with the autos I got from speedy seedz. Out of 10 seeds 2 didn't sprout hade 6 males and 2 fems and the females were both 6 inches or less and yielded like a gram between the 2 of them..I was pretty upset

:leaf::fire:i would go through bcbuddepot.com, they have lowryder 2 fems i believe its 75 for ten+ some freebies., they send very discretely. they also have the best prices hands down, and are by my account some of the better genetics on the market.:leaf::fire:
