So trimming the undergrowth...why now? I always wait until they get into flower and get themselves sorted. Always figured I was taking away fuel sources for veg. What’s the call on defoliation?
Btw been thinking about your question a lot. I have one more thing to add to that. Due to the fact that it gets soo cold here.... the leaves naturally fade faster then most peoples do. So I do naturally lose many leaves. It really thins out my plant foliage. So I guess nature does my defoliation for me hahha.

Interesting...removing stuff before flowering makes total sense to me. I may start doing that when mine get a little bigger (just closing in on 4 feet tall now).

When do you harvest your Greenpoint stuff? What's your latitude? I'm at 44 here, guessing my flower stage will begin second week of August roughly, which means harvesting between Columbus Day and Halloween. Hoping for some nice Indian Summer weather but here in Maine it could also get a little nasty...fingers crossed.

We are at 46 here.
I like to do things little by little as far as pruning and what not so not everything is done at once. There will still be more suckers on the inside and things I will remove for the next month or so. I just never like the thought of super stressing them out all at once.
The jelly pie I think was around a 10 week finisher (the mother) and the maverick I've never grown but here it is around the same or just a bit longer.
So yeah probably mid oct as long as the weather holds out.
Let's hope we have a dryer fall this yr!

Lots of work done today.
All the stalks are starting to get big.20200703_135142.jpg
This big moose is obsessed with the water from the hose...I think he got more then the plants did lol20200703_143342.jpg
I'm excited to see what the lemon crash does from cannaventure.... I hear she turns pretty colors in the fall. 20200703_143402.jpg
The one I'm standing next to is a wonder woman that got majorly broken in transporting. This is all that was left of her. She looks a lot like a palm tree....hence her name palm-ala anderson lol 20200703_143505.jpg
My friends plants are definitely doing good...but she is going to wish that she had not cut the poles so short lol. She will find out soon enough20200703_143541.jpg

Damn, I put a ton out about 5 weeks ago and haven’t been back since. I hope they look even half the size of any one of those gorgeous ladies you got out there! You might be one of the goats lol
