Going from 24/0 veg indoors to outside?

Hello all. I'm based in New York state. Last year I successfully grew a 7 foot tall indica plant by starting from seed mid march, vegging on 18/6 lights indoor until around may (after frost over) when I transplanted it outside into the ground. It flowered around late August if I recall and I ended up getting over a lb of bud from it.

Now I don't have access to the same setup. I just germinated a seed of what I think is a similar if not the same strain and got it started in the solo cup indoor. My question is, can I veg it under lights 24 hours until may then do the same thing or will going from 24/0 to outside sunlight in may confuse her? Since I started later it will be smaller when I put it in the ground but that's ok it will be easier to transplant.

Sorry I'm still a grower noob and my knowledge is a bit rusty from last year but I've started doing my homework again. Thx!

I would just be carefull of uv other than that no problem
Thx, yeah it will be a bit smaller when I put in the ground this time but that's ok because last time it was already big and it was a pain in the ass. Last year I'm pretty sure it started to reveg outside at some point but then it figured it out and reverted to flowering it was kinda weird. The bud was ok nothing amazing, I wanna pay better attention to trichomes and all when I harvest this year because I think i either pulled it too early or past peak potency

Pic of last yr's grow (I think the seed i just started is the same strain so i may or may not get similar results). I smoked it all in like 3 months lol

Your in north east like me, youll never pull an outdoor past peak here lol. Nice job. Ive never done 24 normally 18-6 frim seed your interested in day length. Find a sun calendar like timeanddate.com and wait until day length is 14.5 hrs or more to avoid reveg. Im mass it’s usually late may but most yrs i go out jun 1st

Thanks man, Hmm so do you think 24/0 to outdoor could work at all then? If in any way i can set it up on 18-6 i will but i just got some limitations atm that might inhibit it ....as long as it turns out ok in the long run, if my yield is slightly less this year i couldn't care less, i'm just happy if i can get a healthy grow and get some free weed period these days lol

At least go 18-6 i prefer 16-8 lots of strains will begin to flower going from 24 to out side, you ever think about going 24-7 indoor then putting outdoor after summer solstice 6-21 plants will go to straight flower an never look back.

I would but by the time June comes I'll be out of space plus I only got the lighting to sustain it until may at best... guess I'm fucked then unless I can get it on a timer again and I'd have to sync the off periods with outside night too because my area aint light proof that's what I did last time I think I had the lights off from midnight until 6 AM

Dont have to sync any thing just put a timer on them if you go 18-6 wait till late may to plant 16-8 would be able to go out 2 weeks earlier with out reveg

It'll be fine, but you will have to harden it off before giving it full sunlight.

Thanks man, so say until mid may or so I run it 24-0 under the fluorescents or mars hydro, what would hardening off look like? Forgive my ignorance. Maybe starting with like putting it out in the sun for like 8 hours a day for the first few weeks?

Outdoors in shaded sun for a few days. I've grown one outdoor plant and it was last year. It didn't get too much hardening off and did quite well.

The one last year I did on 18/6 from March until may and I didn't harden it off per se, just put it in a semi shady spot that I'd probably use again this year and I had no issue. If the 24/0 schedule isn't a problem I'll just veg on that until like may 21st which is 30 days from the summer solstice that's the rule of thumb I was told to go by. As long as 24/0 and then whatever day and night time around that time in may won't trigger flower

24/0 light schedule is fine as long as you don't exceed the plant's DLI.

i don't grow outside but do you keep track of light/dark hours at your latitude? that would be interesting
Last year yeah I think I did right before I put it outside I gradually changed the indoor lights cycle to approximately match what it was gonna be outside it seemed to work ok but if I can indeed run it 24/0 then put it outside with no issue it doesn't really matter I guess
24/0 light schedule is fine as long as you don't exceed the plant's DLI.
Thanks that'll make things easier then

Last summer mine didn't go outside until June 19th.

42 degrees North.
