Grow a pound with cfl's

I'm doing it just because I have the time, also because from what I see their are very few posts on this site with actual high results from low budget grows. I could easily place this plant under a 1000watt Hps, but that wouldn't help out all the new budget growers.
the time?
but you are listing all these time-intensive measures...
I am confused man... and i'm stone-cold sober
I got a shitty back, and believe me I've gotten it down to the bare minimum for top quality production.
it is admirable to want to do something for the new budget growers.
that being said getting a used HID setup and a bulb is a lil cheaper..
but that's sorta throwin shade on your thread...
my bad
not my intention

Wait, you only throw a scrog net during flower? @BigBudCfl you gotta veg it out first with the net installed before flowering, i mean its not really that big of a deal since all methods are generally an attempt for an even canopy/shorter plant regardless of what method you use. Also, not to sound like an ass but lst/topping/fim/scrog its all the same stuff, doesn't need a new name since most people have been doing all of the above for a few decades already.. If your pulling a pound dry from 500w cfl, then thats pretty good and respectable but dont forget vegging 24/7 for 8 weeks is costly.

and counterintuitive.
lets do a lil math, since it's dead at my shop today..
52 weeks a yr.
8 weeks to vege, approx. 10 to flower.
that's 18 weeks.
so you don't even get 3 harveys a yr.
(2.8 a yr)
that, to me, is an issue.
clone to flower is about 4 weeks.
then 10 for flower.
that's almost 4 harveys a yr. (3.7)
so you lose over "about a lb" (see what I did there?) haha
do that for four years.
you get 11.5 harveys
my suggestion?
14.8
so over four yrs you'll be losing almost a whole yrs worth of herb
lets say you get your lb a Harvey.
then over four yrs, you lost 52.8 oz

things to consider, 24/7 electricity is expensive also.
so you lose money there as well

Not hatin, tryin to maximize your herbage is alllll i'm doin
meant with all the love

Yup. The whole point in high yields is saving money but that went out the window with 8 weeks veg along with 24hrs lights on AND cfl's lmao. I guess this is for people who dont give a crap about electric bills... Minus well buy weed again though lol

Really though why does it matter when someone joined mate. whats wrong with lurking vs joining if the person never really wanted to share their grow or hardly knows about growing. You rather them post a bunch of useless info because they have no idea what they're talking about? I'd rather them learn before they post.
Well said.

Well atleast we know, you need 4x the light hours in veg vs flower to get near a pound from cfls, which imust have missed the pound of buds pic?

CFL's have their place in my garden Imho.
I'll use them for cloning, seedlings & a bit of veg, but for flower my go to is HPS.
More expensive than running CFL's for the whole run, but the reward is worth it to me.

that's my point, two months of vege time is a long time.
after cloning you need maybe 2-3 weeks of vege time, and the flip.
I can squeeze in another almost two harvests a yr that way.
not to mention the saved energy costs..
Dude. I don't think three weeks is enough to use my 4x4 space. Plus my flower room will be tied up for two months anyway.
5 plant max. 1 mom 2 veg 2 flower.
Am I missing something?

Organic Scrog, two 600's (in flower) & 5-6ish weeks of veg (using one 600).
LST, Fim, topping & training with weighted wire. I don't weigh finished product, but it get's me through the year.

Disclaimer: I don't sell, buy or trade - it's personal use only & that's only half the closet.

So, where's the wasted space here?
Simple..

The lower half of your plants :)

I found 4 seeds @ the post office in a small glass vial marked with a "B" on the stopper last year - 3 were girls so they're in the mix.
The rest are White widow x Big bud, Blue dream, Green love potion, Critical sensi star and two mystery gift seeds from a friend.

I love variety.

ah, well there ya go, you have plant restrictions, so that makes sense.
i'd do 12 clones topped to two colas a piece..
but that's with no restrictions

Better stock up on those CFLs. The best deal in 6500K 30W CFLs (the best watt/lumens ratio) around where I live use to be Lowes. LED may make CFLs harder to come by cheaply but I don't think that they will do much as far as T5 HO... 54 watts at 4500 to 5000 lumens for the 4 foot bulbs for under $3.
