Has DNA Genetics Seeds Stopped Making Regular Seeds?

Go through DNA's list of strains...on any seed bank's site. Kosher Kush, I very recently released strain, is offered as a regular seed.

DNA's most popular, time-tested, award-winning, consumer-demanded strains, USED TO (up to about a year or so ago) be offered in regular everywhere, but are only offered in feminized form now:

1. Chocolope
2. Cataract Kush (in 2012, I bought 10 regular CK's from Attitude, only feminized offered now)
3. Holy Grail Kush
4. L.A. Confidential
5. Martian Mean Green
6. Kushberry

L.A. Confidential has been on the market for years, and up to a year ago, had been offered as either regular or fem seed. Same with Martian Mean Green. Both award-winning strains that people have been buying and breeding for years....but all of a sudden, they're not available anymore in regular. That's frustrating. If it wasn't for one hail-storm in South Carolina destroying my other females in my outdoor plot, I wouldn't even be writing this post, because I'd be happy with my Cataract Kush seed that I bred.

So what other reason would a company like DNA STOP making regular seeds of their most classic strains if not for the fact that people were just breeding their classics and never buying seed from them again? See I'm really not off-base on this, because when you rule out any of the other unlikely reasons why they did away with regular seeds (people just like growing without having to worry about males and prefer buying fem seed, for example), you'll realize that companies like DNA saw they were losing potential customers who were breeding their classic strains.

I'm still not understanding your zeal for arguing with me, and please stop trying to message me...I'm really done with hearing about you, and from the sounds of it, so are a lot of other people.

You can open pollinate and preserve feminized lines just like regular lines. You will get S1's in an open pollination which can always lead to negative recessives coming out, but otherwise there's not much difference and bad recessives can come out of male/female combinations as well - they mostly shouldn't be there if bred properly anyway.

autos suck! besides having the absolute lowest THC strain deep in their genetics (siberian ruderalis), they can't be cloned! they're good for PC case grows and other stealth locations, but purer genetics are better, and if anyone knows how to produce the highest quality strains, it's DNA, my 3 out of 3 winners favorite breeders. to be fair, today's autos aren't really that bad, but undiluted genetics are still the best. that's why so many alleged hazes suck these days compared to REAL haze brothers'.

Can't believe with crazy great but autos really do suck. You're getting ruderalis genetics into an otherwise great gene pool. It simply easier just to grow normal plants with you can clone flower when you want and have potency

i can't lie, most of the times, Jorgo, appears to be right. however, i do or did find him talking what he assumed to be facts that he knew nothing about that was strictly from hearsay.

on another note, anyone know what male was used in the kosher kush? thanks in advance.

And uniformity. And you can keep the winners. So much wrong with autos. Only good for some areas outside really. I wouldn't even waste space in my veg room for them, I'd rather search through more regular beans thanks.

I have those regs and my guess is they've used the same 'Capt' Krypt OG' male they used on the limited collection line.

That is only my opinion and guess, I have no knowledge that it is correct. But the releases line up enough for me to think this

i think i remember reading something about "our family in LA had this cut called Kosher" and I've also heard "Jews gold" used from different sources online and offline when talking about koshers back ground soooo idk. the Quote about LA and the "Kosher cut" came from DNA's twitter or attitude or something... i dont remember.

I've been very curious to actually KNOW whats in this one as well. would be interesting to see what it really is. same with LA conf. I've got money that says LA isn't to far from Bubba in the family tree.

each time i go to dam, i stop by their shop to whine regarding their choco and them only producing fems.

one time i even got as a response that the chocolope is not what it used to be anymore, so i should just get on with it (they gave me 6 C13 reg seeds for my mourning

last time, they finally said they were restarting producing choco regs. twas like 3 months ago and their only batch was given as freebies to that big spanish expo.

I have Kosher Kush regs in transit now. I am going to use it for breeding stock as well.
I have some DNA 91 Krypt pollen frozen and some Sleestack x Skunk pollen also.
I'll have three of their lines stored once I get this one.
This Kosher one will be a mystery though. Kind of hard to decide what to pair it with. I'm going to grow it out first and sit on the pollen till something comes along.
I should get a few males out of 13 regs.

That also makes me worry, anytime I see freebies it always makes me think lower quality. If it was my business I would be throwing out fem seeds of my best gear for people to try out. If they like them I would have an offering of male/female seeds to back it up. That way people know your quality and not just shoving shit around. I have had bad luck with freebies so far but I am going to continue popping until every bean has a pot.

no way! some of the best seeds i've popped were freebies!
lemon skunk - DNA genetics was expecting a lame ass skunk #1, but it's better in every way including it's gorgeous golden glow
sativa trans-love - john sinclair has a generic fruity haze flavor and high, but buds like a motherfucker leaving even C99 in the dust the first 30 days with a better high to boot
onyx - short stuff i personally hate "authentic diesel" (tastes like truck stop tarmac grease slicks to me) flavor, but it had an awesome high with a cool touchy feely effect
super cali-haze - short stuff mine had a root kink just below the surface that made it stunted, but under full spectrum halide, it tasted like straight up grape juice i find more delicious than blueberry and more authentic with a much better high. it's what my member name refers to and my dream to create a grape flavored purple haze. the cross i made with a joey weed C99 male was extra sticky and plenty fruity with a high much better than C99 and as good as or better than several other generic hazes, jacks & thais i was testing
la blanca - kannabia was a little stonier than i like, but better than skunk #1 and surprised me for how middy it was. it would make anyone looking into white strains happy i'd think
jack - CH9 i'm pretty sure i got that as a freebie and WANTED to hate it for looking like an afghani SOG plant, but it was low odor, and only had a light but functional stone and was otherwise potent and euphoric with at least a little psychoactivity. it'd be my "cash crapper" go to plant, or for shortening and fattening IBLs better than skunk #1/blueberry/NL#5/afghani etc. it'd be good for taming paranoia in crosses i bet, but is a nice mellow buzz in it's own right. i bet it's the ed rosenthal super bud that makes it special

sometimes, better breeders toss freebies to advertise their wares. i can't remember if i got DNA's sweet haze as a freebie or not, but if i did, it's one of my top 3 faves. i gave all of their OG kush crosses as well as TH seeds' ones i got from attitude's 10 year newsletter [promotion, but would have expected those to be awesome, and the pineapple express freebie i got once is supposed to be decent, though i never popped it yet as i was saving it for a flavor breeding grow.

when you get freebies, test them if you can. you never know what you'll get unless you research them, and even then results will vary. yeah, a lot of freebies suck, but some are awesome too. the ones from respected breeders are the best bets. oh yeah... i'm pretty sure my mozambique poison and mulanje gold holy smokes' freebies were as good as the malawi golds that came with them in my MG order as i was really impressed with malawi compared to highland thai, and have read great reviews for that and other landraces from them.

the only way to know ANY bean's quality is to test it. i find it a really fun hobby myself

I agree, every bean will be popped unless saving it for future.

or, if you don't want to pop a bean because the breeder has a bad rep, or it just sounds like something you wouldn't be interested in for WHATEVER reason, give it to someone else! it's called "the kind" for a reason
