Heat Difference Between a 400W vs 600W

I have a 400W system for veg. Temps are averaging around 75 degrees.

Question: What is the difference in heat between a 400W and a 600W in the same exact area? Should I expect a large difference, or just a degree or two?

a 600w will be 200 watts hotter and about 600BTUs more of heat .

Anyone have a 400 running at an average of 75 degrees, and then change it out with a 600? Was wondering what your average heat was after the changeout?

I'm also curious about 250W to 400!

the temp ist that much different, but the 600 is the way to go its the most efficaint for its light output, its more light and energy efficant then a 1000 watter, id go with the sixer,

could anyone give like an estimated degree increase? would it be like 5 degrees? or even hotter?

I have found that a 600W is just too much heat without using ducting and the appropriate reflector hood. The 400W I have is able to be kept under control with two desk fans and a strategically placed pedestal fan.

Also, without ducting, a 600W would need to be kept 19in or more from the canopy because of heat, even with the three fans. My 400W is 14in away.

According to the HPS chart. The difference in foot candles with those differences in height are exactly the same.

With the proper hood and ducting, you could probably get the 600 within 10 inches or less.

This is with my setup. Your mileage may vary.
