Just get the AC infinity and call it a day.
Their both china exhausts, I think the ac 4, 6 inches are solid.......8 inch isnt a true dc motor and are pulling more than rated (200w)according to some Amazon t8 reviewer's test? Don't quote me ; ) also way over on manufacture DB noise levels by many on that model and s8.

I need an 8/10 inch for the room, so terra it is unless I splurge for the German, high quality.....i find hyper stealth way overpriced from China too

Yea I can't speak for the 8" but I own the 6" and the 4", love them. I just use the regular speed controller on the 4" but I bought the temp/humidity controller for the 6" in my flower tent, work great. Extremely quiet even on the highest setting although I don't usually need fo go past 3/4 speed on either fan. I also own the ac infinity multifan sp-7 dual fans. They sit on top of my hlg288 sinks and keep the temps at 82 on top of heat sink.

Cut bro, from someone deep in the trenches so I'm sure it is the "Real Deal"

First run with the Cherry Pie and a new System and a different Nutrient so obviously a few bumps. Plus it's a mix of Blood Diamond and Cherry Pie. Not ideal but failed clone experiments force you to do what you gotta do to keep moving forward :peace:

I’m using the 8” terra bloom and I chose it over the infinity due to the low watt use and have been pretty happy with it. I keep at 50% tho

I have plenty of airking wall mounts, I need exhaust. Not running Dayton blower in 2019/2020, very reliable though. Can't kill them..

Yeah it’s decent. Compact and comes with a pretty long speed controller too. My 3/4hp extraction fan went out in my shop and it’s been doing pretty good while I wait for a new motor lol better than I thought anyway
So you haven't strained the motor with a filter yet?

That and the fact that LEDs photons are more directional or can be and not scattered or "hooded". Kinda what I understand about it. Photon count is King. Spectrum....around RIU,is the court jester. It can bring out the best or worst in anyone or their garden.

Are there less photons coming from the hid, lost to heat?
edit to add *^ less photons getting to the canopy due to wall losses,reflection and being much less efficient at producing the photons for the power they consume as @rkymtnman stated below.

if a 1k hps puts out 130000 lumens for a 130lm/w rating, aren't these new top bin leds well over 200lm/w nowadays?
so hps is losing the battle both to heat and inefficiency if i'm correct.

think of it this way, in the year 2050 people will be laughing that we thought led was the best. lol.

Depends on the plant, I guess. Some plants would probably prefer the heat/light.....

Thermal IR energy is more commonly known as "heat". Everyone is familiar with heat because of our sense of touch. But what exactly is heat? Heat is a form of light invisible to our eyes, but detectable with our skin. Visible light is part of a large spectrum of energy that includes other familiar electromagnetic energy regions: microwaves, radio waves, ultraviolet, and X-rays all are forms of light that we can not see. The colors of a rainbow form a continuous spectrum of light in the visible wavelength region as does the "light" in the other regions. Infrared light occurs at wavelengths just below red light, hence the name, infra- (below) red. Near-infrared is the "color" of the heating coil on an electric stove just before it glows red. The thermal (or mid-) infrared colors are found at even longer wavelengths.

I don't know, really. But I know plenty of people doing great things with those 1000 watts even if it's more on the meter than some other kind of light.

To me, the whole thing about LED being more efficient....no argument. I think that's a great thing in and of itself....but, I just want potent marijuana and I can get that by growing under any number of types of lights....so can anyone.

I only consume "about a pound" per year (if that) and so the whole idea of one light being more cost effective than the other is relatively meaningless to me. No matter which type of light I choose to grow under, its only going to be used once per year, I might pay a bit more on my electric bill...but, again, not a significant amount to sway me to choose a light based on that, alone.

Something tells me that plants like that "invisible" light -even if they don't use it for photosynthesis....Maybe some plants like the thermal wavelengths for developing other chemicals. Again, I can't say for sure, but I have yet to see many weed plants "complaining" about 1000 watts! I know that some growers have to add heat to their LED grows via a space heater or something. I know I've had to do that on my LED grows. So if I have to add the electricity back into the bill in addition to the efficient LED, then it becomes about the same cost as HID, anyway.

Depends on your climate region. Where I'm located it's 9 months of cooling demand over 3 months of heating demand for this full time grower. So for me it's LED's for 9 months out of the year and 3 months of LED's and HPS, so I eliminate the need for any added heating or cooling.

Agreed. I personally have never used a 1000 watt fixture for that very reason. I usually use ~400 watts for my grows. As far as freshness, I have had great success with vacuum sealed glass jars in the fridge. For lifestyle reasons, I only have a once-per-year grow option.

Any halfway respectable grower is going to pull 2+ lbs from a 1000w HPS. So 4x the weed in half the time. I know which way I'd go.
