How much does your grow cost!!!

It doesn’t cost forever or at least each grow..
All but electricity... I’m being rewarded.. first grow or 2, cost me more in experience... now I’m harvesting all free smoke.. only a 3x3, so 4 plants x 3 gallons... variety sakes different stains..2 1/2 - 3 zips a tree... and getting better each grow

I probably have several thousands invested in equipment but the only major monthly expense is electricity. The generation rates in the northeast US is among the highest in the country. An average bill usually pushes $350+ and double that in the summer when I run A/C.
My recycled soil is basically free: my worm factory produces a very dank compost for the cost of my kitchen veggie/fruit scraps. I replace soil amendments such as kelp meal and garden gypsum as needed maybe once or twice a year at fairly low cost; organic grows are cost effective. If I could just grow outdoors under the sun the cost would be basically nil...

For setup - the sky is the limit on cost - some people get all crazy with their setup. Setup for me, I keep it simple - less than $1,000 per 4-5 plant area.
For growing - I don't spend a ton on things like nutes (none of those nutes marketed for cannabis), I grow in soil and approach cannabis the same way I approach my veggie garden for the most part. Power is the main expense. All said and done, probably around $250 per lb. So pretty cheap.

I work a lot and can't smoke often - these days, if I smoke an oz. in a month, I've smoked a lot for the month :) Life of a working person. I literally got strains that I've grown that have been curing for 6+ months simply because I haven't had the opportunity to touch it yet LOL. You probably don't want to know how many lbs I toss away every year because I never got around to smoking it. I just like to have different options to choose from ;)

I spend WAY more on my hunting hobby :)

Well, I am a cheap bastard, but not afraid to spend money to get more bud. I run 285 watts of lighting and maybe another 100 watts for fans and air pumps (probably less than 100 watts). This grow has been 12/12 from seed. So (.285 kw per hour x 12 hours) + (.100 kw x 24 hours) = 5.82 kw per day.

My electricity is 12.6 cents per kw. 12.6 x 5.82 kw = $0.73332 per day. I expect the grow to go about 85 days, so $62.32 in power.

I bought Jack's hydro pro, Calcium nitrate and Epsom salts in bulk and expect this grow to consume maybe $15 in nutes.

Miscellaneous items like netpots, totes, etc, maybe $40.

So $63 + $15 + $40 = $118 for overhead.

My expectations for this grow is around 10 ounces. $118 /10 = $11.80 per ounce.

Im at the point where I don’t worry about the cost... none of us really do..just knowing eventually you’ll be smoking and growing ur own shit beats all...

At this point I spend more on trying to find the golden seeds... and if I can even recognize it..
The cost...not my biggest issue... my problem would be growing bunk for 4-6 months only for my partner to have some fire... that I fucking end up buying...so for me it’s more about SPENDING money on the right genetics.. let’s face it.. get some bagseeds decent soil.. cheap dr earth fertilizer.. a pot.. the sun.. cheap to decent to good light.. a place indoor or out...you decide... it can be done for cheap... I find that anything I’ve got a passion for.. I’ll spend on it...this is how I ended up trying to grow this shit...oh so I need some myco’s... ok.. how much does this shit cost..??
3x3 Tent, 4 inch fan & filter combo, 3 lights 2 galaxyhydro 300’s(cause grow weed easy said they would grow bud:finger:) the other light is my 315:clap:..600$...+ seeds soil & nutes idk 5- 600$+..

My electricity is 12.6 cents per kw.
I'd love to see such a price over here, but I paying close to 1/3€ per kW. Which equates to 1€ per gramm under 600W HPS.
Then, grower equipment is exceptionally expensive compared to "normal" garden equipment... some popular strains 500 bucks for a tiny batch (eg orig Skittlez wtf)...
with absolutely no guarantee it's still the same genetics (in principle impossible for seeds over a longer time).
Solution would be to go outdoor but moved to a big city...mistake... 1500€ electricity bill for 6 months LOL... BioBizz fert range fro. 10 to 50 € per liter wtf... although organic grow could be so much more cheap using supersoil, but this needs time to break down ... 2 years is a long time

I'm up to about $450. And I still have more to do. This is an amazing hobby. Priceless, imo. After I get my next light I'll be around 650$ but I'll be able to fill a 4x4 and vent it perfectly, keep it lit up. Will hopefully produce some sense nugs. I have no problem spending money to produce these flowers. All the broke 'diy' guys who act like it's cool to have a half ass setup held up by duct tape can do that, but I consider my tent like someone considers their hot rod. Or boat. Etc. Take pride in everything you do. If being cheap is your way of having pride then do it. Pride for me is knowing I have a top of the line grow set up.

^^Wow, must be nice to be rich, important and able to look down on others from your high horse, Richie Rich.^^

Really, a whole $450??? Are you Donald Trump?

Growing bagseed and bragging about what a player you are. Awesome.

You do realize all those items burnout and a "boat" analogy is poor at best
My wife refers to a boat as a hole in the water in which to throw money into
My buddies refer to a "boat" as "Break Out Another Thousand "
Your cost are higher than you think

I bought from HLG
two 320w XL QB V2 Rspec kits- 485$ea. almost 1 grand total
1 260w XL QB V2 4k kit~ 350$
1 135w qb rspec~200$
5x5 gorilla original tent ~400$
high cfm bars-20$
2x4 gorilla lite line tent~ 200$
fans ~100$
ro unit ~ 300$
soil ~ 100/grow
nutes ~ 40$/grow
electricity~ 150$-250$/grow
pesticides ~ 10$/grow
water~ 50$/grow
genetics ~ 50-100$ / grow
cloner~ 100$ (one time investment)
pots ~ 200$or so (one time investment i went with air pots theyre plastic and cleanable)
pump sprayer-15$
ph/ppm meter-200$
plant label plastic sticks-5$
magic butter machine~150$
bubble magic hash washer ~ 150$
nova ardent decarboxylator lift ~ 150$
trim bin by harvest more ~ 60$
chikamasa flourine scissors ~25$
herbsnowdryer~150$

A hobby that ends up supporting itself? Priceless... lol
If enjoy your hobby, it could end up being your job in the end, at least I hope
about 3/4 of your list is crap....

plant label plastic sticks-5$ make them out of old containers for nothing
magic butter machine~150$ i use a 25$ crockpot and get perfect results
bubble magic hash washer ~ 150$ a 5 gallon bucket and a stick works
nova ardent decarboxylator lift ~ 150$ useless, the crockpot or butter maker decarbs by itself
trim bin by harvest more ~ 60$ i use 3 dollar dish tubs from walmart
chikamasa flourine scissors ~25$ ....not that bad, good scissors don't make your fingers hurt as much
herbsnowdryer~150$ worse than useless. bud isn't supposed to be dry now, it's supposed to be dry when it dries. it's supposed to take a few days, to allow sugar, carbs, and chlorophyl to break down.
if you want to spend 400 dollars on a tent, go ahead, but you aren't taking it camping, it's going to sit in the same place, not exposed to the weather....i bought a 150 tent 4 years ago and it still looks like new, except for the floor liner.
a good ph and ppm meter are a necessity, but 200 seems a little too much. i got decent units for around 35 each, been using them both for over a year and they've required very little adjustment. the ph meter has required no adjustment, the ppm meter was 2 points off once.
