How's my first LST lookin'?

This is my first LST I've ever done, and its also my first outdoor grow. I'm growing Paradise Seed's Ice Cream in the greenhouse and I have been LSTing her a few weeks now. I just repotted her into her 10 litre pot yesterday and when shes done with that shes going into a 10 gal. Anyway how is she looking? Am I doing the process correctly? Do I need to tie anything other than the main stem down for the right effect?

Enjoy!

Peace.

id say good job, i like the support string you tied at the base of the stalk, something i should have done myself. Heres my 3 kush ladies which are tied up a bit

They are some great plants man! I should be able to control the height of my plant and increase the yield! Thanks for sharing those pics!

Peace.

I'm not sure whether you've tied tight around the plant, or if I just can't see a loop because of the angle of the photo. If you are tying tight though, try leaving enough of a loop around the plant that you can stick 2 fingers in the loop. That way you never have to worry about the stalk getting choked out as it grows.

i have tried using the string and did not like it i like using wood as a stake by bending the plant and stake it down

As long as you bend the plant in a different direction than it was previously growing then you have successfully LST'd a plant..Congratulations...don't be afraid to play around with plant manipulation.

i never understood how someone could come into someone else's thread where they wanna show off their girls

and just immediately post pictures of their own and say HAY LOOK AT MINE

twice

Looks good from here. If I'm not mistaken is that hemp string your using? I do, it's the best material to work with IMO, easy to untie and handle yet super strong. The support for the base is ESSENTIAL, that one should to stay till the end. Keep us posted

2 SCUDkfa, they look good only thing I could say I'd do different is advise I've gotten from others that lst/supercrop is when ur training ur plants ur goal should be to train the plant in a way that it is spread out over the area of the pot. In other words when u bend it over and the tip reaches the edge of the pot instead of letting the tip bend out over the edge of the pot bend it and train it to grow over the soil. I think it has alot to do with the way the plant roots grow, if Im not mistaken the roots grow almost like a mirror to the plant above.

"if Im not mistaken the roots grow almost like a mirror to the plant above."

dvs1038 where did you hear/learn this? interesting...

Okay chaps, I am coming up for another tying down within the next few days but, being new to LSTing, I don't know whether to tie the new growth coming from the stems or just leave them. I will obviously be tying down the main stem around the pot but I think I have heard that some also tie down the new growth. Does this increase the yield? The RED is the new growth and the BLUE is the top of the plant.

Any advice will help!

Peace.

If you don't mind a couple of suggestions...

1. When you tie the string round the stem for support, pull the plant back with the sting so it looks like it leans back a bit (ie. an angle greater than 90*). This will allow the plant not to lean forward as much after the "front sting" is pulled down.

2. Plant the clone/seed so that it sits much closer to a side of the pot. It will make your life a lot easier all around (you can refer to the pics for examples). Good luck.

There is a method of doing this without tieing any thing down it utilizes wire dog run material and the INDIVIDUAL screen method, This keeps everything in a tight little package and allows more plants in a tight space each screen is set up using the holes already drilled in the top of your pots! See pictures in my album for a visual of this!

We need a I'll show ya mine if you show me yours thred!!!!!!

I posted the pics to help the OP, taking the time to bring them here from my tutorial on IC. Care to see some LST'd buds the size of half gallon jugs? I can certainly oblige, but that wouldn't help the guy with his future grows.
