I have 7 Rhode Island Reds. All the same age. And I STILL have two that get pecked on. Waddles, combs, backs. One dominant hen about became soup because of this but I spent time with my chickens in their run and smacked the shit out of the two dominant ones when they were pecking on the weaklings. It hasn't stopped but it has slowed down some.

Finally got the coop and run finished at the new house. 6 hens are loving it. I made a good section of it as a raised bed covered in wire. Planted wheat grass,wild flowers, in it so they have something to peck at without completely destroying it. Hope it works out. I'll throw up some pics tomorrow.
