Is this plant ready for the chop?

Hi there,

This is not my first grow but I was a little confused about this plant. its looking ready in most areas besides a few bud sites that still have white hairs but more than 70% of the plant has brown hairs by now.

I have been leeching the plant and just feeding pure water for 2 weeks now but yet i still have very green healthy leaves with no yellowing. I have not gave a heavy flush though, just watered every day instead of nutrient solution.... I thought this would be sufficient but it appears obviously not as there is very little yellowing if any lol.

This was a new set up and my first scrog which went totally out of control and has been a pain to manage. uneven light distribution. but some buds are now looking very ripe and I was thinking of chopping this particular plant of the bunch in the next 2-3 days. but I have no yellowing leaves and no microscope to check the trichome production.

the big buds directly under the light are full of trichs and purpling up, very dense and look done to me. but then theres some buds that still have white hairs and look a bit behind in comparison but i ideally want to chop them all at the same time so I can make more room for the remainders.

Please let me know what you think.....

Thanks :)

i don't think they're ready yet - anywhere from two to three weeks. nice looking grow bongsmilie
Thanks for the input. but the strain is only supposed to be a 7-9 week flowerer and I am on week 8 now. but I shall wait another week and see how they progress i suppose :P i should probably get a microscope but I currently only have a 5x magnifier lol

You're rounding the corner headed for the final stretch. nice colors and healthy looking plant. Thumbs up brotha. between 2.5 and 4 weeks I would say. but u want all amber pistils, not any white pistils, and real weed smokers know that ur trichomes should be as much amber as possible, and sometimes even an orange tint should appear glistening on the buds.

I would definitely say to start flushing your plant. this is watering until runoff appears from ur plant. at first it will be green but u want to flush it until the runoff is clear. what is in ur soil is eventually what u inhale. the plant should start to lose color at the leaves during and after a flush or two. this will signal to the plant its life is ending, and it will produce more amber trichomes and start turning all the pistils brown. cheers

Thanks for the input! But I was under the impression that too many brown hairs / Amber trichombs were degraded thc and past their peak potency?

Also I have been leaching the plant with pure water for 2 weeks already but have seen not much change in the leaves though lol. I am unable to heavy flush because I can't move the plant outside of the grow space. If I continue to just keep watering as normal instead of nutrients will it still use up everything that's left in the growing medium? Or will a heavy flush be required? Thanks

Keep using water only and let them go another 2 weeks, then post another pic. You still have a lot of straight white hairs. You don't want to waste several months of work and pull them 2 weeks early, you'll be sacrificing potency, smell and taste. The plant will tell you when it's ready, the 'number of weeks' on the package is no guarantee.

I checked my trichs, i figured id experiment and see what mostly white trichs would smoke like. Got them in the dark now, will chop in a day or so. Cant wait for that smoke report!
