Jack herer

Every time this question is asked the majority of people respond Sannies. I always buy the best seeds, never the cheapest seeds.
thats true but the majority have never tried sensi seeds original jack herrer cause its too expensive. so for the most part your hearing it from people who have never tried the original only sannies. but I probally will try sannies version but not before I try the original and theirs no way their the same but untill I hear of someone reliable who has grown both and swears sannies is better I highly doubt sannies is better in anyway but that it is only so popular cause of the price and name. but thats what I think about the over whelming sannies jack lovers is about cause I don't think I've seen one person who recomends sannies over sensi has actually tried sensi's version but I'm sure sannies is still good but it damn sure didn't win any cups and sensi's has won more awards then any other strain to date. so I still believe sensi will have a better jack herer then any of the knock-offs.

I've had original Herer. It's always around here - it's a heavy producer and relatively quick for a sativa leaning plant, but it has clear indica influence. It's a nice plant, but I like the Killing Fields (which is half Sannies Jack) better and I only grew out 4 females total. IMO that says something. Sannie has never entered a cup as it's antithetical to his philosophy. No doubt he would win a few if he wanted to. The gear speaks for itself. Some guys will play that game. Some won't.

of course his will be a little different. he's done some independent work on the strain to boost productivity too. i'd love to see ANYONE do a shootout between the two, but everything i've read so far says that at least compared to OTHER hack herers, sannies' f7 is closest to the original. $175 price difference is A LOT to many of us when i don't even like spending $100. i give sannies the nod myself as his rep for putting love in his gear combined with quite reasonable prices give his JH bargain status. if sensi ever gave their herer away as a UFO, you can bet i'd place an order for something at attitude. that last 10% or so in quality isn't worth a 450% price premium to me when there's so many truly satisfying strains in the $50 or even less range.

that's what i'd go for too if it weren't for that name that totally offends me like TGA subcool's equally evil named jack the ripper... two of the trippiest indoor hybrids both sharing necrophiliac names. oh well, there's always malawi gold etc. maybe jack f7 is more like slightly stony, but functional, jack's cleaner 2 than i thought, but that's OK. a little stone that doesn't put your butt to sleep isn't the worst thing in the world, especially if you get nice yield in return. if you TRULY want "the real deal" in an old school trippy sativa, then skip hybrids and just go to the source. there's a fare selection of landrace gear at ace, gage green, cannabiogen, holy smokes and world of seeds that aren't going to be watered down hybrids. for me, a strain that isn't JUST about being stoned, or even stoned with euphoria, is good enough. motivation in moderate doses is nice, but that can go too much in the opposite direction too. try as i'd planned, i couldn't sit still on kali mist to listen to tunes as it just made my mind race too much, so i ended up cleaning house on it. these days i'm liking more balanced buzzes that aren't too stony or racy, especially if they have euphoria and sense heightening psychoactivity. i've only tried three jacks so far, cleaner 2, CH9 jack & autojack, and all three were nice with different personalities with JC2 being awesome and even "unique" because that touchy feely effect ought to qualify it for TRUE aphrodesiac status. if i could afford it, i'd do a shootout with jack f7 & sensi herer. oh yeah... for trippiness, sannie himself recommends 50% amnesia jackhammer too. maybe i'll get that instead of jack f7, but i don't like spacy strains that scramble your thoughts. that amnesia name has never agreed with me.

BTW That Herer that's always around was obviously picked for various reasons, likely somewhat commercial IMO - although it's mostly sold at dispensaries, and it's a clone. So there's probably more sativa dominant plants in a pack of Herer. Breeding done properly doesn't water anything down. It stabilizes. Of course you lose some of the genetics from the originals in the process, so if you want to select yourself then I get it. But from what I can see, Sannie did a pretty good job getting all the best qualities from the Jack to express themselves in a stable cross by all accounts.

Hey idiot, why dont you look up the meaning to the word "necrophiliac". Killing Fields has nothing at all to do with fucking corpses.

yeah... the stuff that's sold at dispensaries is picked over schwag. all of the good shit gets scooped up before it hits the shelves. i was just reading up on it a little recently and found someone reporting that they never see anything like jack herer and hazes. that's sad. no one wants to give up a little yield for higher quality. until i read a Dj shorts article, i too used to select males for early flowering and dominance which is part of the reason strains like herer work back to afghani dominance, though often, people just lie about a strain at dispensaries to get rid of whatever shit no one is buying.

I think the perception in the Dutch cannabis community is that the annual HTCC there is rigged and effectively a big marketing stunt, rewarding the growers/sellers with the biggest promotion budgets rather then the ones with the best buds. The two houses that win many of the cups allegedly enjoy poor reputations in the local community, not out of envy, but rather just poor business practice. Locals remember that a few years back the single winningest cup entrant was caught red-handed bribing judges, and had two cup wins revoked that year. There have been allegations that cup entrants weren't actually the strain represented, but rather other weed either grown privately or bought off the street and entered into the contest under a different name. Anyway, given that the barrier to entry is high, and the perception is that the playing field isn't level (to put it politely) lots of growers simply don't think its worth the effort, cost and bother to enter. I haven't heard Sannie's thoughts here, but I suspect this sort of thing is at play. My take on this is just that cup wins really aren't a good way to select strains anyway. At the very best, a cup win just means of the entries that day, the judge panel liked a particular bud more than others. It doesn't mean that the winning strain was "the best" one that year, or even the best one from among the entrants, let alone "the best" for any individual grower's unique circumstances. IE, "super duper haze" might give grade A bud, but it could also be hermie prone, stretchy, disease susceptible, take 18 weeks to finish, have low yield, etc. Then even stipulating that a cup winner actually won on its own merits (which probably isn't true in at least some cases) the genetics you buy from the breeder may not be identical to those that won the cup. Lots of breeders change their lines over time for a variety of reasons. And for every strain entered into a cup, there are at least a dozen other excellent ones that weren't. Bringing this back on topic, its been alleged that the line Sensi Seeds is currently calling "Jack Herer" is NOT the same as the one that won the HTCC in 1994 and 1999. Supposedly Sensi lost the original genetics and had to recreate the line, and their current rendition isn't quite as good as the original. In the meantime, Sannie, at least, started with the original Sensi Jack Herer. You can argue about whether Sannie's Jack "is" Jack Herer or not, but I think its a silly/semantic argument. To me the question isn't which line is "authentic" (arguably they both are, or neither is, depending on your point of view), but rather which line exhibits the flavor, high, potency, and other traits associated with the original, and (more important) which is excellent in its own right.

Sannie's jack is a good representation of Jack Herer and doesnt cost a lot of cashola.
I have a couple of Sannie's Jack F7 that I just induced in 12/12 two and a half weeks ago, and already the baby buds have resin glands on the little shade leaves. Definitely looks to be quality chronic.

A bro of mine from Cape Town was always going on about Killing Fields said it was one of his number 1 strains and he`s a big time Haze smoker.

I think with JH I like it to have the haze high but the NL taste and smell, it`s a tricky one but I once saw a guy grow a big one on a home made red/blue 40w led light I`ve also seen them grown under just red leds

I had one form a free give away years ago but our power failed and my whole bank got cooked so I have hardly anything to look at now lol

i think the jack crosses are a safer bet than the original which can take some
selection work
some phenos are very tall and take over 10 weeks yield can be great with larger plants though

someone has already mentioned karma genetics, give them a look, they have a alot of jack crosses
i know this guy has been selecting and breeding with jack for years, starting from early sensi seed stock
i have not grown any of his jack strains, i have grown his biker kush and it is very good

Jack O nesia

Have a look at demon seeds if you only want to get single JH seeds. Ive used them a few times and all have arrived safely. In yet to germ my JH seeds though so cant speak of their quality. I can say that all the other strains ive germed successfully and none wasted. Hope this is helpful mate :)

I am currently growing Jock Horror Auto from Dutch Seeds. It has grown exceptionally so far in my Fox Farm soil setup. Growing in a 3' x 3' x 6.5' grow tent under a 400 watt MH/HPS ballast with supporting CFL lighting. It is now day 30 and is 15" across x 6" tall. I have already topped her so that should would be short and busy. I will let you know as things progress.

Good Luck and Cheers to ya!
