Hi Everyone, I’m a first time indoor grower, up to now I’ve been strictly outdoors.

On a tight budget. Grow room: 3ft x 3ft.
Thinking of a Roleadro 600W Led Grow Light Full Spectrum.

Is 600W enough?

Anybody know if that’s an ok choice? It’s low priced, or ist there any other make available in Europe up to 150£?

seems like this would be a good choice on a limiter budget https://www.ebay.com/itm/Horticulture-400-Watt-MH-HPS-Grow-Light-System-Set-Kit-for-Plant-Growing/121574354910 studies have shown that HPS will outperform LEDS https://thegreensunshineco.com/hps-vs-led-grow/ and are much more cost effective way to grow

600w would be enough if it were true 600w but it wont be.
I love My LEDs but on a budget go with what has already been suggested.

Your looking at about £300 for proper LEDs to light that space. Not shit off amazon.
Ironically Amazon and ebay are great places for HPS.
You should be able to pick up a digital dimmable 600w HPS ballast and bulb and a 400w mh bulb to run in veg.
Or magnetic ballasts even cheaper.

Here is a prime example.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/600w-LUMii-BLACK-Electronic-Digital-Dimmable-Ballast-250w-400w-660w-Super-Lumen/282757565003?epid=27011748385&hash=item41d5aa0a4b:rk:1:pf:0&checksum=2827575650039dddb620206e40198b5326b74c061989&enc=AQADAAADAFjVrDbVsZ8oH/8PNHtt9VX4/w7FZcmMuqsX8uaFEduVWobGFxYWkaatMp/+Ghe9fB4S9aVWpKpEhsOYFxiFefShqikuKaBir4k7bKy3qmanhwYt5NRETHON5rcW7JwBTSKSAS48thXOqbD3HH+/ZgUKNtvXwYCqfevt8AydFLWsU3CYx9I0sTVp7pImT9HBMWhs8a4PNul79aolvCwnJvSbmukf1iPL763esjEoz7V7UE6wAurF2c7J18iA4dVtTvyRnItpg09IJnnDsU72WFAGvwg0uhRGv0VYiyPVCAF2RvUCbrBBwSDD/CLwzPctOA4xPVllTKwJFTx2CmZ7bj+6Ht+Nk9aitvqt7J4b8txmn0JJhRkzoMsrNbN9ueR1s5+ru/Yb+ADqjiON1wTXioJyOUe5bNg0cdFIBt79BU2rmAjlknvL2gTXKm3M9v/lIjdgti5LabcR4C/GRHqX/k5JFVtnQxJ0Mv920IRcqS4tYXoJJxR0PHZW8cRRCcyzqMvdGiWMHwXQMVhoHND9p9cBOOvU4hSWRyxVLhLgC2jBXqwlsGHAVdYZrG8nViGqBZ7BESfk+hqo3y/uEdkYtP5ZwysqGIFh6WcZQUcoJ6HhcelUounTFkoabyXxFLinUlPOgoDrEIYpki1QdCfYRsFamCd1KcmZGpsVzXEJtazPSCc6n3yf/36QUxSns/R1+LDePB8SBdn9Ja4DQWMA0oi56dD/RPLNg3nLbTpZ8hjMy1XwqaLjgEirfFrS9vRUkPE1/HN3knMwSc5iz5eK3W/cZRrDnNmEdEVpViVIQvo5tUcYtJU6PZT3nLNqNKt9yV78XttBnWQXSvE8f8aIK+Vqxj1kfy7JRTAbWyGUt6DotGGnyVPxWT2NDrUDLknAq6b0WzQXuviIOJqmqbfMi7l5zsgVGWtGvFbooXf2FIG0dMJmyuiMgjLmKFY4AbRXZQFoyKBzB0bMSKHcrAibafP/a9dYTDbf/roMezpRuLS2b9DAzXPThs/+awW8tYrIjw==

Then buy a 600w HPS bulb, not dual spectrum, and a 400w metal halide bulb making sure you only set the ballast on 400w in veg. You would need a reflector, that's only like £15 or £45 for a good air cooled one if you wanted one of them.

The 315 cmh is also a great option but probably out of your price range.

400 / 9 = 44.44 watts per sqft.

600 / 9 = 66.66 watts per sqft.

The 400 can grow good weed in there, the 600 can just grow a little more.

A 315 CMH would be a really great option, less heat, great spectrum.

Growershouse has good deals on 315 cmh that’s what I run in my 3x3s and they are perfect for that space. I cool two 3x3 tents with 315s by sitting a 6 inch fan in between them with filter sitting on floor, 6 inch fan on top of that and a y on top of that. So that’s 630 watts cooled with with one fan and it’s not even blowing out of the room just recycled into the room, on hot days I leave the door open to the room and set house thermostat lower. Also I always run lights at nite so my hvac doesn’t have to compete with high day time temps. Save up the extra money for a 315 because either that or a 600 watt hps is your best bet and by the time you bought an air cooled hood for the 600 you’d be at same price. The quality from the 315 cmh is unsurpassed by anything I’ve seen yet and I have quantum boards, de 630, and hps. I spent almost 500 dollars on a QB led fixture and consider it to be a waste of money. I’m sure someone can do great with it but not me and not after I see the quality and ease of use of cmh, the plants just love them. I gave up on the QB and occasionally use for supplemental.

Although if yield is your main concern and you have the budget to air cool a 600 you will yield more ffrom a 600 than a 315. That being said it’s hard to cool a 600 in a 3x3 and could easily end up costing you more money in ductwork, hole in your wall, ect. If you just want half lb or so of grade A bud get the 315. ( you can get more than 8 oz when dialed) but that’s a good starting point and even on bad runs I seem to hit that.

I would check out the aglex 1200 or 2000 cob led before going toward what is being suggested. It is way less heat & has the proper IR & UV light you need for proper trichome production. As for electricity cost, the price is almost nothing especially compared to the cmh & hps others are suggesting. For the price, you can't beat it. Lights in the same range cost double, triple, & even 4+ times the price for the light & at least triple the cost in electricity.

Man don't pull the trigger on that piece of garbage.

Look at Timber products. You get what you pay for and that Aglex light is garbage.

For a 3x3 I would use one of these Timber 4VS lights.

@Benframpton302 we are well versed here on various quality LED lights, despite what you have read online or seen in videos, those Aglex lights are not good LED's. They will never compete with something like a Timber or HLG

Since you haven't purchased the Aglex yet, take this moment to checkout what the experienced guys on here recommend. You get what you pay for and those budget chinese blurple LED's aren't it.

First of all, I have been growing my entire life & I am sure I am well versed in horticulture myself. Also I own one of these lights which you don't & have never used so why would you even comment & say something like that, sounds like it or something you heard online cause you don't know from experience!! Also he wanted something low priced & you guys are sending him toward something that will cost him tons in electric from not only the light but the a/c he us going to need & multiple online fans all to stop the excess heat. He is a craft grower who wants a small cheap grow, not something that will end up costing him a ton of money & with this light you easily & consistently pull good yields. So next time you go & try to talk down to someone like you know more then them. Think twice!

Are you really requesting a $600 light?? Yes they are good but he wants something affordable for a 3 by 3 & yes you can research anything which you obviously wouldn't know because you have done zero research & your suggesting a $600 light that only does a 3 by 3.

And really your suggesting hlg too? LMFAO Overpriced & junk. Brother I designed grow rooms for thousands of people with different budgets & for someone on a low budget I can have them set up in a 4 by 4 with everything they need to pull good yields for less then the cost of your light alone & half the electric cost & I guarantee the yields & quality won't be much different & actually think mine will be more cause your light will only cover a 3 by 3 & the Aglex cob 2000 ($240 USD) flowers a 4 by 4 easy at 30 inches has more power then needed to bloom a 4 by 4 & has UV which if you knew how to do research would know that it produces trichomes..you know the stuff were all after that holds the THC! In conclusion, if you want an overpriced light that doesn't cover shit listen to this guy, if you want a good quality yield at a reasonable price then listen to the guy who actually does this on the daily & has been running grows before this guy was even a twinkle in his daddy's eye.
