lights!

i want to use florescents is that going to work out? compact or normal? i was using cfl's (energy safe) but i want something a little bigger are these florescents going to be okay?

Stick with cfl's if i were you or go sodium,better the set up, the better the bud in my experience anyway

well yeh but i want a little bit of a bigger set up my cfl is small and i the florescents i'm gunna be using are gunna be of good size all i want to know is if it will be suitable?

clfs will not grow unless you use alot which is espesnsive to buy so many or your have to at least get the big grow cfls the actual 200watt or bigger bulbs the 18 inch bulbs.Why not get a 400 watt hps setup cost about the same as the amount of cfls your gonna need. and well sky high bills can you afford $20 a month as thats about all it would cost to use probably less in 12/12 usage.

what about for one good plant not like a whole bunch? i just want to know about flourescents

I use t 4 foot T8 lights to get clones or seeds started. So thats a total of 4 four foot T8 lights but that will only get you started to veg then you gotta add alot more light and then for flower you'll need more. If you wanna use T8 4ft tube lights they come insets of 2 per ballast your gonna need about 12-18 sets so about 24-36 four foot tubes or about 18-24 spiral cfls the blues and thenhave to exchange those for 20 plus red spectrum bulbs.You can order the larger 200-300 watta actual cfls for between $50-100 each which will grow 1-3 plants you need 1 blue and 1 red spectrum bulb of those.Its cheaper and quicker to just buy the weed at this point for what you ll gte. If you were able to get a full oz dry with any cfl grow Id be impressed.It also gonna take an very long grow upwards of 14 weeks from seed.

its not hard to get an oz. from growing with cfls i could get 2 if i wanted 2

Good luck with that as to get 2 dry oz that means you have to get 9 wet ozes which is good froma hid light.

Since you are not getting what you are looking for in this thread, I recommend searching through the cfl growing journals, they helped me a lot and now have hope with my grow, I am growing with both cfls, flo's and I find that cfl's are a lot better than standard flo's, my plants are doing fine for the most part, just taking longer to grow and the yield wont be as great, however it will be better than what I'm smoking now.

Humboldt you get a cfl yeild yet? just curious to see as I only seen a few and most people were disappoint when flowering with cfl.Veg wasnt to bad just the yielsd issue

Nah, I can't wait, just started about a month and a half ago my biggest plant is just over a foot and I can't tell the sex yet, also I can't figure out how to work this camera I borrowed to get a good enough shot for help sexing, I'm thinking about flowering at the two month mark, I want them to be as big as possible before I start flowering, I have plenty of vertical space.

I found quite a few impressive cfl grows, I would be happy with a cfl yield at this point, my next go around I hope to have at least a 400w hps system. lmao I save pictures of buds harvested from cfl grows I've visited.

Ive seen maybe a6 people with decent cfl yields but they used the good 250-300 actual wattage lights the big 18-21 inch lights with reflectors.Im a big believer in T-5 grows though and will eventually get some of those to use full time.I tend to use 3 400 watters or 2 600 watters in aero but doing a little isde grow in soil since its been a decade since growing in dirt and I was borde.These are under 1 600 watt light an are at what 5 days old now in miracle grow moisture control soil plain water for first 35 days.Well had 3 pics but the server isnt taking pics so will add the other 2 later I guess.
