The pb use the lm281bs and the mf series uses lm301b's. In a lower wattage light the extra push from the lm301b diodes makes a diff. They're just all around a better diode.
It's funny some of the newer boards have mean well drivers but still not the high end meanwells which end up being about the same failure rate as the sosen drivers they use on the other boards. So either way the driver doesn't matter that it's a meanwell or not. Personally I own 4 mf1500 and one pb1000 and I've had 0 issues with any of them.
Even the new ones with dimmer have the lm281b’s.? You think it’s better I go with the mf2000 rather than the pb? I thought the pb was the better series light due to the spread and not having the reflective lips. And it’s cheaper. I like them both. But def want the best bang for buck.

Hm not sure... They change up things on those boards alot but I'm pretty sure that was the deal with the pb series.

Lst looks great on those. Lots of bud sites. I flipped nov 1st myself. I quit training on the flip though and it got kinda crazy lol.
Thanks! Going for minimum 20 primary bud sites on each plant this time. Trying to shrink my cola size down a bit due to some bud rot in one plant last round. I love how crazy they get during the flip, instant jungle!

You'll achieve it! Are you planning on throwing in a screen or going for a SOG?

I quit using screens years ago, I like to be able to pull them out if I need to. Now I just try to pack bud sites together so they support each other. I supercrop all the branches to help spread them out at this stage and it seems to make them really strong, but I do get a lot of sagging in the final 10 days. I'll do a better job of supporting them this time, either bamboo or yoyos. This is the first time I've run both coco and my new LED, so I'm hoping for a personal record harvest.

Well. Your using both. If they both had 301b dimmable drivers. Would you still be stuck on the mf series?

Unsure. I get higher reading on the Par meter from the 1500. Mind you it is 50watts more. I also see the pb is on sale for 100 bucks.

Which LED? Couldn't agree more! I take my buckets out every Sunday for a water change so that would be a pain. I knew the screen would add another level of aggravation to the process lol. I'm going to try YoYo's but similar to what you're saying I'm hoping for natural support from the supercropping :D

for me. The pb1000 right now is 70 plus an additional 15%. And the mf2000 is 110 at checkout with coupon. What light are you looking at

This is my 2nd grow with the Fold 8, first I used soil, now I'm using Coco and Megacrop A/B and have things dialed in a bit more. Next I'd like to get an actual PAR meter, but my $30 lux meter really helped me figure out optimal light distance, so much different from HID. I find that they grow really strong base branches from mainlining/manifold and I love the big knuckles they get when you supercrop them young.
