Did you useing the same compound adhesive to mount the cfl reflector? Just curious. I like the idea. Good work.
CFL reflector wasn't yet mounted, I have a few more of them I'm considering as well--some have much wider angles then the one in the pics.
But I will probably attach it with some wire first, just to make sure all is good.

--------------------

After running the XPEs for hours, I can say that they don't really get that hot as long as there is some air movement around the flood light. The flood body does a good job of absorbing heat and dissipating. The Driver does not really seem to get hot.. The flood driver case doesn't get warm.

Using a computer heatsink would be the absolute best bet. A nice cheap $10 dollar one would easily cool more than enough... Plus it comes with a fan.
Hanging and positioning the heatsink would be the challenge, as well as positioning/mounting the driver.
Also drilling holes to mount the PCB could be difficult (anyone know if a $20 amazon drill could handle this).

I guess thats the benefit of the floods, everything fits nicely into a case, only 1 cord coming out. I've been looking for some empty LED bodies, but no luck yet.

I'm officially addicted to LEDs.. lol

Just a little update.

Cutting down the big girl at day 60 tomorrow, will get some pics when I can get her out of the red/blue lights (she's very hard to move out of the tent to white light--she is in a tub with a tomato cage for support)..

Cloning

I was able to get a 10 day rooted clone from the air stone/humid dome/heat mat method.
Was messing around quite a bit with the humidity levels, and can probably get it down to 8 days or so next time.
I did let the clone dry out too much a few times.. so occasionally it would droop a bit. Not going to let that happen next time.

There is so much opinion and different technique and do's and dont's with cloning/rooting... it can seem really complicated.
Some say you need to reduce the humidity after a couple/few days.. some say you don't.

But for the most part it seems quite easy if you just...
Maintain good warm temp in the dome.
Don't let the clones get too damp, and not too dry. Keep them in between and they will be perky and root really quick.. not much more too it.

DIY/Multichips
Got another Cree multichip. 5 red 5 blue. Should be great bonus for the veg area.

I've been looking for a good way to house these multichips now that I dont have anymore of the china Flood bodies.
-Computer CPU heatsink/fan does seem pretty good, but It doesnt really provide the best housing.. and possibly difficult to hang
-I like how some people are using broken lights and using the housing with included heatsink and fans to hold CXA/Vero/multichips... but where could I get one of those

Does anyone have any ideas?
thx =D

Beautiful. I know it's been a minute, but was the yield on that girl. If you don't mind me asking.
